  1. I was told that if it is low carb enough, you can purée it. My friend actually puréed a chilli cheese dog - although I wouldn't recommend it. You can use chicken, beef, ham broth spaghetti sauce, milk etc to thin out your foods. You can purée a meatball w sauce, beef stew, chilli, baby beef or chicken with cheese and taco seasoning. My favorite is strawberry Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and cheesecake sf pudding!
  2. I think that as long as you can meet your nutritional requirements and physical limitations it will be fine. Do you have to lift your luggage or will there be someone with you to help? Is it a very long flight where blood clots are an issue? You are right, you are going to enjoy their company, not food. I've already been to a birthday party and barbecue and I'm 8 days out. Family reunion this weekend. If you have a bad moment just remind yourself that food is not the priority of the event! It's doable.
  3. i know on the world according to egghead, she has a protein ice cream recipe! also check breyers carb control or blue bunny low carb. i heard they are good. idk how the weight watchers stuff is - but it would be worth looking into!
  4. I've seen recipes without any sugar or sweetener. Maybe to a test batch...I would maybe do 1/4 c each of trivia and Splenda so the sweetener is halved?
  5. I always liked Atkins bars.
  6. Did you say that you work for pinnacle?
  7. I had surgery 8 days ago. Tried to thin baby oatmeal and potato leek Soup but was full for like 6-8 hours after 1.5 oz. I can get down
  8. That's great! Isn't a feeling of control knowing that you can overcome that?!!
  9. It takes me a few hours to drink a protein drink so I can get two in a day wich is 50-54 grams using bariatric advantage or gnc total lean. The total lean really is better but has 200 cals per serving! I just am so sick of these shakes. Also ordered nectar so btwn that and capella hopefully it will get easier. Have you tried isopure? I tried protein blitz and thought it was nasty.
  10. If you haven't started using my fitness pal app for your phone I would recommend that strongly. You can scan the barcode of your food and it records the nutrition info. Or you can just add it in yourself. Very handy to stay on top of cal counting. After a day or two you will really get the hang of it. Also saving a few cals so maybe having half or full serving of yogurt as a snack twice daily will help. Drinking broth helps and so does crystal light. A meal with lean meat and steamed veggies will be more filling than you think!
  11. I am having the same issue. Just ordered some Capella drops to see if that helps. Might try adding a chunk or two of pineapple or banana. A little instant decaf coffee sometimes helps.
  12. Probably because the psych has so much control over your future, and it's all subjective. Just be honest. It's ok to say that you have stress. Just know that you need to have plans in place and be organized. You will do fine!
  13. This is alot more common than you think. The office I work for has to do this alot. You need to make sure you are safe for the anesthesia. Just think how healthy you will be after the weight loss!
  14. I would sit in your bedside chair and just get up and move around the room between walks. Just the getting up and down will help too. A warm shower should help when they let you. Oh my nurses had me brush my teeth almost immediately. That and those sponge pops dipped in Water helped -just don't suck out the water! Its a long day but just one day! Welcome to the other side
  15. Mine eval almost didn't get passed bc he said I was unreasonable to have 130 lbs as a goal (I'm 5'6") and that I hoped to lose 100 lbs in one year. It sounds like alot of us had issues. I wish you all the best and if it takes longer than maybe it was meant to be for some reason.
  16. Are you still taking pain medication? That is a side effect.
  17. Lol my nutritionist recommended Wendy's chilli if I'm stuck getting fast food. Also gave me a bunch of high protein low carb soup recipes. Idk if others have this experience but the nutritionist is such a wonderful resource and seems to know so much more about the post op diet than the surgeon or his nurses.
  18. I was just looking at Capella drops and they have a cola flavored drop! You could add it to water maybe?
  19. Wow I missed this the first time around. Glad it got bumped! These look great! I've been so resistant to get Capella drops but I guess I'm gonna break down and get them. Seems like everyone loves them! Any flavor recommendations for the drops?
  20. You will do so well! I'm excited for you!
  21. That's great! Maybe give him a chance and things will get better. It's a step in the right direction!
  22. I'm sure you have heard this before but the time really will pass quickly! Congrats on being another step closer!
  23. I was on the 10th and just went from clear to full liquids yesterday. Have to do full liquids for 2 weeks before going to purée. I swear I'm gonna figure out how to purée some pepperoni cheese and tomato sauce. That's the only craving I've had!
