  1. I agree that it sounds like dehydration which can cause low blood pressure.
  2. It does sound like you are ready for change for the right reasons. This is a great source for support. Welcome!
  3. I wrote this in my clear liquid phase after surgery. Since I could add protein back in, they don't taste as good. Now the Swiss chocolate is wonderful! They usually do a bogo.
  4. For that long of a flight, blood clots are definitely a concern so talking to your doctor will be wise. Let them know that you will not lift your luggage! You will be offerred a soda in flight likely - just ask for Water frequently and hydrate during your layover. Some days are easier than others for me -I'm 11 days out now. Hydrating is my main issue -it's just difficult! My family event this weekend went well. I did have some moments where I wish I could have had my uncles yummy smoked ribs but reminded myself that I can next year. This year I just sipped a Protein drink while everyone ate and sat there and joked around with them. It wasn't bad! Good luck and enjoy your trip!
  5. I had the same issue a week before and went to pcp. She gave me a z pack just in case. Didnt want rescheduled. Would yours? Feel better soon!
  6. You definitely should talk to your doctor. The first rule about bp meds we learned in school was that they don't always need to reduce bp to normal like 100/60 bc that could be too low for the patient. Good luck and make sure you are hydrated!
  7. Welcome! Everyone here is so nice and supportive.
  8. The only thing I paid for was my fmla and short term disability forms $10. And our monthly weight loss classes were $20 each cash.
  9. How about appetizers? I'm still on liquids so haven't gone out yet. Have you had luck finding low carb ones? The only thing that comes to mind would be like stuffed mushrooms or shrimp cocktail.
  10. Welcome! It sounds like many of us myself included kind of stumbled on this app and site. Everyone here is very supportive and open! I am only 10 days out so can relate to that anxiety about the surgery and anesthesia. I assume you had some preop labs X-ray or EKG? This should help reassure you that you are safe for surgery. I'm still having cravings although I know many don't at this point so we are all different. You will be able to eat your favorites in the future. After you get to a certain point you can have foods like Chinese but more like beef and broccoli or garlic shrimp but not noodles and rice bc of carbs. I know ppl who are a year or so out and will have half a slice of pizza. Sooner than that you can have a homemade low carb pizza. As you go along keep in touch with your nutritionist. They are a great source of knowledge and motivation as well.
  11. I have a bit of a problem with the gym babysitting... We can't do evenings. My kids have sports every day except Fridays. Yes even Sundays. I would need to do my workouts at like 6 am and they don't offer babysitting that early around here. So I guess we will just have to stick to walking as long as it is light out in the mornings. Congrats and put that membership to good use!
  12. That's a great idea! It would be nice to have guaranteed low carb small portioned options. I wonder if restaurants give adults a hard time for ordering children's menu? I would assume most won't let you...
  13. Welcome! This is such a wonderful source of support! And I also have not shared my weight with anyone but the folks here!
  14. It sounds good to me. Idk though, I go almost daily. You could definitely be having belly pain if you are constipated. Like Kiwi said, Miralax is a good option. That's what we recommend to our patients. You could be in starvation mode too. It sounds like you are doing everything right. A call or email to your nutritionist might be helpful. I'm sure they hear this alot and know what to do.
  15. Enjoy your vacation!
  16. You look amazing! And your dress is beautiful! Congrats on reaching your goal and the start of your next chapter! Thanks for sharing I was wondering about you.
  17. We spent probably $300-400 monthly eating out and even though I've bought lots of protein powders (still experimenting) there is definitely a savings. Can't wait to start recalculating the household budget!!
  18. Welcome! Nice to meet you
  19. I always felt best at a 8-10. Kept my curves and wouldn't want any lower.
  20. Just plain or can you do the flavored w fruit?
  21. I'm so happy for you! I hope things will work out for you - just remember it will be a process. Best of luck and we are here for you xo
  22. I'm from York but did mine at York hospital.
  23. Welcome! Everyone here is so nice. Feel free to ask anything here. So far the best advice in general would be to get shaker bottles and a protein powder that you like. And if you want, a crystal light or mio flavor too. They will be your best friends!
  24. There are a few restaurants around here that do skinny wings which basically aren't breaded but baked with sauce. Can't wait to get them!
