  1. Sigh I'm sure you are right. Will have to work on a recipe for this. I want it to still taste authentic but be healthy. I'll let ya know!
  2. I've never had problems with pills but now I kind of gag. And they don't sit we'll in my pouch. And I swear I can feel them. I'm on blood thinners and can't wait till they are done! oh and I was told not to crush them bc I'm still on liquids. Has anyone else had issues with pills? Any solutions?
  3. Yeah it's full of sugar. I used to drink it lots before preop and miss it like crazy! Too much sugar for post op.
  4. Thanks now I'm hungry for fried fish! Prolly could oven fry... Just a little cornmeal and seasoning. Anyone know if this is ok?
  5. Can't wait to get to the point to try this!! Thanks!
  6. I plan on bringing my own dish to social events to make sure there is something there I am able to have. If you get stuck without a fall back dish, look for lunch meat and roll up with a piece of cheese, or chicken or ham. We will still have some options!
  7. Pecan waffles and pancakes with lots of syrup! but...i guess i could do a protein pancake... so I'm going to go with my mom's homemade mac and cheese or olive garden seafood alfredo! mmm carbs!
  8. Have you ever got a large soda to split with your kid because it will save a dollar or two? I have. Granted, we shouldn't have bought a soda, but something healthier. I think this is a slippery slope. I'd rather see the government work on getting soda out of schools if they feel they must intervene.
  9. Some insurances only require three months, and the doctor almost always agrees to this. Lucky you!
  10. It's hard. Im still in liquids and my uncle just had a BBQ with his amazing smoked ribs. It I just temporary and we will get through it. This could be a cool chance to expand the menu in the restaurant if you don't have many low carb high protein options (while giving you yummy things to have at work)!
  11. If you have Comcast, they have a ton of exercise videos on demand for free.
  12. I hate clothing shopping for that reason! Don't be discouraged - you know that you are losing pounds and inches. Soon you will be able to walk into any store and buy what you need! Good luck on the interview!!
  13. And no dumping? Have you found any yogurts that are lower in carbs? I miss yogurt so much!
  14. Hang in there. The dizziness just could be meds and anesthesia but make sure your nurse knows about it. Happy for you!
  15. I thought my pain was abnormally high and something must be wrong. This was my 6th abdominal surgery so figured I knew what to expect. But I had 50mcg fentanyl in my pca and it wasn't doing much. Switching to oral pain meds really helped (oxycodone). The gas pain is wicked and took about a week to fully go away but it really does get better every day. Hang in there!
  16. it's not an overnight process. you have already lost 15 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks. that's impressive! i had my surgery on 7/10 and have lost 15 pounds as well. i've never lost weight that quickly doing atkins, medifast, or any other diet so i'm happy. just keep following your directions and it will come off!!! hang in there!
  17. I compiled a list of Protein shake hacks to doctor up Protein powder. Most are for vanilla since that is so versatile. Also are puree recipes and some high protein recipes for puree/soft/regular food phases. I've tried some of these before surgery and can tell you that the fake cheesecake, buffalo dip, and egg salad are wonderful! DLCoggin also has the file to complement his data base of restaurant foods and grocery store items. There has been lots of talk on the boards about puree lately so thought I would go ahead and share. Enjoy! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1B7jc1unYKXmxAUX7amV-ezfP8gu9ptcSH4tZkuD7LCI/edit
  18. They recommended getting a word search puzzle. Put the fork/spoon down between bites and find a word or two, then take another bite... This could work with sodoku, angry birds, whatever.
  19. i'm still on liquids but going to ask to be advanced sooner due to migraines. But just on what I know and have learned, even if you aren't full, you should still stop at 1/2 cup if you are that close to surgery. Your nutritionist may have some answers for you.
  20. Welcome! This place is full of so many wonderfully supportive people!
  21. My dr said to have half a saltine and suck on it until it dissolves then clear liquids only for the rest of the day. Your dr might not agree to this though.
  22. I just got the same thing today. I left a message for my dr. Hopefully he prescribes something bc this sucks!
  23. That sounds yummy! Almond milk is so great! I try to limit my soy intake so this is a great alternative.
