  1. Good luck. Can't wait to hear from you on the other side!
  2. How did you start cardio? I don't want to start with walking, would rather go hard core but not sure if that's a good idea. Any thoughts? I am 3 weeks out and dr said I can do whatever cardio I am comfortable with.
  3. DLC is so right. Consider this a test of your determination. You CAN do this!
  4. The season hasn't started yet so idk the moms. But he has to have this memorized by Monday. Got some help and we are all good now!
  5. Aww thanks! Anyone else have input?
  6. Ok, so this is waaay off topic so that's why I'm positing it here in the Man Room. I really don't want to ask my facebook friends for this advice... My son is starting his first season of football next week. And while I know enough to be a fan, I just don't know enough to get him started playing. And I really had no luck on google. He is supposed to have offensive holes and defensive gaps memorized. They gave him the sheet. My confusion is what exactly are these for? There was no explanation whatsoever from the coach - just a sheet! it goes like this: Offensive hole numbering: 9 7 5 3 1 0 2 4 6 8 O O O O O O O Gap responsibilities: D 0 C 0 B 0 A 0 A 0 B 0 C 0 D OMG what does this mean???? Thanks in advance!
  7. lol oops! I did 1/4 cup pureed chili with a baby spoonful of plain greek yogurt (tastes like sour cream but better for ya) and guacamole. it was a little spicy which sucked bc you can't drink for 30 mins but well worth it to have some different flavor! tomorrow is pureed ham and eggs, then some pureed crab cakes yay for real food again! -oh, and I can hear my mom's voice in the back of my head warning me that even licking the spoon leads to unwanted calories and carbs
  8. mine is slightly different. I found walden farms calorie and sugar free strawberry spread and put a little bit on top...super yum! Fake, No Bake Strawberry vanilla Bean Cheesecake ½ Cup Vanilla Bean Greek Yogurt (Cabot is best) ¼ cup Strawberry Greek Yogurt ½ Cup Cottage cheese 3 Tbsp Sugar Free Instant pudding Mix – Cheesecake Flavor ¼ Cup of Milk (give or take as needed) 1-2 Tbsp Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup Optional: 1 package splenda to taste 1-2 scoops vanilla or strawberry Protein powder Put the yogurt and cottage cheese in the blender. You will need to add a little milk to allow the mixture to blend. Add the remaining ingredients and milk as needed, continue to blend until smooth. Refrigerate. It will firm up as it chills. Garnish with Fat Free Cool Whip and fresh strawberry as desired before serving.
  9. I didn't know if everyone knew this, but if you log on to myfitnesspal on your computer, you can put input a recipe and it will break it down to nutritional facts per serving (and you can make it your smaller serving sizes)! ie: I put in my homemade tuna salad, crab cakes, and egg bites and it added them to my database. It's a big time saver instead of adding the ingredients one by one each time! Just found this and thought it was cool so wanted to share
  10. Today - 3 weeks post op
  11. No that won't work, because you need low carb high protein. The whole point is to shrink your liver and the lemonade diet won't neccesarily do that - and your dr won't recommend it.
  12. It's amazing how your tastes change! i got really sick of all the sweet protein shakes. had my first puree tonight and it was so good to get a different taste!
  13. Yum I had my first purée today too and it was chilli with a baby spoon of guacamole and plain Greek yogurt (instead of sour cream) Yum! Hope you like the crab cakes
  14. Thanks for putting this info out there. Well stated as always, and will no doubt help many out. What would we do without you!?!
  15. Definitely don't over buy before surgery. I have two tubs of it that I liked before but can't stand now. Protein isolate from my understanding is the purest most well absorbed form of protein out there. I also stay away from soy due to high risks of breast cancer from all my aunts.
  16. I did the same and licked the spoon. Just avoided anything chunky.
  17. Search weight loss surgery. It has these pictures on it.
  18. I agree with all the others about addiction swapping. Also there is a very increased risk of getting ulcers and that just sounds painful!
  19. Praying for you to have a quick and easy recovery from here out. Good luck!
  20. The best seasoning for crabs and shrimp ever! It's a regional thing they even make chips with old bay around here. Wont eat crabs or shrimp any other way!!
  21. I'll never try it bc it's not worth stretching. I was thinking about that soda stream concentrate stuff and just trying it in ice water...
  22. Welcome! Every insurance is different in what they require to qualify but you will need approval. Your doctor will handle this. Recovery happens in many phases. You walk immediately. When they rolled me from recovery after surgery they made me walk into my room to the chair not bed. You will walk several times that first day and stay 2-3 days. I started housework and shopping several days after surgery. Have not been cleared for any cardio besides walking yet (I'm 3 weeks ). But am comfortable doing most tasks. Everyone is very different and some are still uncomfortable at this point. Your doctor will give you specifics on their protocol.
  23. Yay I'm gonna get some steamed crabs soon
