  1. awesome! great way to jump start weight loss but more importantly this close to surgery will help protect you from blood clots, pneumonia, etc. keep up the great work!
  2. i have had days like that too. last week had a snack an hour after a "large dinner" -1/4 cup and didn't get sick. I actually lost more weight in the two days after that (brought me out of starvation mode and boosted metabolism??) i think if this is only occasional it is ok. you just don't want to over do it all the time because you will stretch!
  3. You can also do swiss or parm chips. Cut sliced Swiss into quarters and place on plate. Micro for less than 30 seconds until hard. Parm chips spray plate with Pam and add a few small piles of fresh shredded parm. Micro for about same amount of time. Voila, chips! Not as healthy as kale chips but great in a pinch.
  4. I went through a phase of not wanting to eat anything to wanting to eat all my favorite old trigger foods. Grocery shopping has been a little depressing, as has watching my loved ones and friends eat my faves. But losing almost 50 lbs in 6 weeks is worth it!
  5. No heartburn here, but if I feel like my pouch isn't feeling right I take a Prilosec which makes it feel better.
  6. The hospital will hopefully let you stay another day or two...just let them know upfront after you get to your room that you are concerned about going home alone. I stayed with my mom for four days but she didn't do much except laundry which was very helpful. You won't need much cooking at first because you'll be on liquids. I went home on day five and have two kids by myself so was cooking, cleaning, etc. It's possible.
  7. Haha lactulose will work for sure!
  8. How long after surgery did you try it?
  9. Lucky! Wish I could get one! They are so tight with our inventory we can't do that anymore!
  10. Sounds like structure too. The other thing i would try to rule out would be a SBO. Are you having good bowel movements? When I get nausea the first thing I try is a Prilosec which does often help. If not I go back to clear liquids for the rest of the day. Good luck and keep us posted! Was just wondering how you have been!
  11. Yum I love these! Haven't had them for a long time but getting some kale tomorrow! Have you tried steamed kale since surgery?
  12. just so you know...hand sanitizer doesn't kill c-diff so make sure to use soap and water!! did they teach your husband how to do the packings? now that you are treating the c-diff your body can focus on healing your wound! things can only get better now!
  13. I hope you get an answer quickly and get some relief. You have been through enough with this!!! But you are still losing weight at least Fingers still crossed for you!
  14. For a quick dinner I did one of those microwavable breasts in gravy (like Tyson or Hormel and yes I know they are terrible for you!) at 3-4 weeks and had no problems whatsoever. Just shredded it and kept it moist. I think a rotisserie chicken would go down well to because it is moist. I like shredding it - feels like you are eating more and it's easier to take smaller bites. Good luck!
  15. I think alot of people are putting their highest weight as their preop weight. And like DS said, my preop weight was followed by 2 weeks of a liquid diet and lost almost 20 lbs then. I saw someone post a 100 lb weight loss in 2 weeks and as a RN I can tell you it is scientifically impossible.
  16. Had a moment at work where I got a little jello of all my friends eating yummy taco saladinland soda for lunch. Can't have salads yet and of course soda is a no-no. And I had my little slice of lunch meat. I really wanted a soda or something sugary. But then realized that even though it sucked a little I was very greatful for the surgery and not being allowed to have soda. Because it is a tool to help us resist temptations we couldn't otherwise resist!
  17. My family ordered pizza this weekend. I cut a piece in half and just pulled off the cheese and nushrooms and ate it. Mmm satisfied my craving!
  18. Dumped once of truvia but had it many times since and not dumped on it. Haven't ha any issues with anything but then again haven't been very brave.
  19. Had to punch some holes in my belt this weekend until I can go get another bc it's too big!
  20. at least a mile 5 days a week with 2 miles here and there.
  21. I am sure you will feel differently once you notice more results. Imagine reaching your goal...that's worth the sacrifice! And after you reach your goal you can treat yourself to Mexican in moderation! Hang in there!
  22. How did you train for it? I just committed to one
  23. So glad you figured out what was going on. Hope you are back to your normal wonderful self!
  24. Thanks guys! You are all so supportive and it means alot!
