Hydration Question
Thanks. I just get this feeling like swelling in my throat or a lump after anything but clear liquids and sometimes I get it with clears! I assume that's fullness. Still trying to get used to all these new body signals. Turns out what I thought was nausea earlier was pain (went away w pain meds!)

Hydration Question
In the newly post op period does/did anyone else get completely full on just clear liquids? I can't advance to full liquids like shakes, pudding, or cream soups bc I am just too full from clears. Even if I stop for 30 mins before I'm still so full. I did get down 2 servings so far of full liquids since yesterday and I was so full for like 6 hours after that I couldn't barely drink anything.

One Week Post Op Info
My surgery was one week ago today. It has been a challenge to stay hydrated, the first few days I was pretty dehydrated and almost went to the hospital a few times. But I pulled through and had no major complications! The stats: Preop diet weight loss 15 lbs and lost 11 pounds this week for a total of 26 pounds in two weeks! I know this is just the beginning but I'm really excited for the rest of the journey!

Mio Sweet Tea
I like the fruit punch. Not a fan of the sweet tea. The peach tea is not bad either. Can't wait to try the blueberry lemonade. And you were right, the store brands arent that good.

How This Will Affect You In Old Age?
That many years after surgery the pouch has stretched to accommodate several ounces at one time. Elderly people will be able to eat anything they want and will be able to fit in as many fluids as possible. Mami has a wonderful point. Many of us might not have had the chance to become elderly if we have not had the surgery since our diets were not healthy and some had high blood pressure and diabetes. If you think about it, many nursing homes give boost or protein drinks to their elderly and we will already be in that habit. As you age, your thirst mechanism goes away but hopefully we will still be in the habit of sipping water all day. A challenge I foresee will be compliance with vitamins as they can get a little pricey and many seniors are on a fixed budget and/or forget to take their meds sometimes.

To Make Things A Little Easier.
Idk why but i was hoping that I could fix my insomnia issues after surgery but so far not happening. Thought I could take pain meds and go to bed early from being tired but not so much. Hopefully exercising will help!

Anyone Try Chef Boardee Ravioli?
I was told no pasta too. The carbs and apparently it can get stuck in the pouch really easy.

Dizzyness
I agree that it sounds like dehydration. This can lead to electrolyte imbalances and other serious problems. Are you using those little medicine cups? I found it hard to get enough with them but glasses just work better. Please take care of yourself!

6 Consecutive Weigh-Ins?
As long as you do it once per calendar month you are fine. For example I had an appointment in the first week of may and last week of June do like 7 weeks apart but still it's fine.

2 1/2 Months Post Op And Pregnant
Congratulations! This is certainly an exciting year for you! It sounds like you are already doing the right things by getting early prenatal care. Obviously you will have to work really hard to get protein, vitamins, folate, calcium, and water - but healthy little twins are the perfect motivation!! Take care of yourself and enjoy this magical time, babies are such a blessing!

Lost My Best Friend
Thanks everyone. She was going to take my kids to the beach this week so I planned on having it a little easier for my second post op week. But I am actually really glad that they are home with me for some quality time. One thing that has made it easier is this site/app. I've stayed off Facebook so I don't see her on there (we went to hs together so have lots of mutual friends). Life will go on!

Psych Evaluation
I agree with all the others! Maybe in the meantime talk to your family doctor about an antidepressant or go to a support group... It will only make you more squared away and show that you seriously want to do well when you go back or go to a new doctor. Good luck!

Starting Regular Diet
I've heard mixing the fuzzy navel with crystal light is good. How long does it take you to drink an 8 oz shake? Right now that would take me all morning!

My Fitness Pal
I'm jenneliza on there as well. Love that app! It's harder to use now that my intake is so small.

Tattoos & Piercings
I have three. Got them like 10 years ago an wouldn't mind getting another jus don't know what! I have my tragus and lives pierced twice. Can't really do anything else bc of my job

Protein
Opurity chicken soup flavored protein. Mix an ounce with an ounce of cream type soup or v8 soups to thin it. I bought a case of protein blitz but can't stand it. Will be doing lots of protein shakes too.
