Lost My Best Friend

Need to vent and this is not rny related but my best friend and I broke up today. We've known each other for over 20 years. Our kids are best friends and on the same football team. her family is like my own. We go to the pool and church together. I just can't imagine my life without her and know that we are going to run into each other all the time. This is not something that will change, it's permanent.

If you lose a friend of over 20 years over nothing she wasn't a good friend to begin with.

No it's not. I have been crying all evening. It has been a real challenge to keep out of the snacks frim stress tonight as I'm on my preop diet but have managed to stick to it so far.

I am so sorry! I know what it is like to lose a friend on those terms and it is very hard. Dont lose sight of your goal and stay away from the snacks! I know that is hard coming from an emotional eater myself!! It is not worth eating the snacks, it will only set you back and hurt yourself more. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Sorry to hear that, hope things get better for you. Stay strong

I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I don't think there are any words that can take the pain away right now. Please stay strong and concentrate on your health and happiness!!

I completely understand what you're saying. My bestfriend "or so I thought" of almost 25 years aren't friends anymore. She basically used my family and myself and then pushed us out of her life..Her Religion and her politics got the better of her... It hurt at first and I tried to go back and be friends with her, but it was never the same. And all of the emotions were still there. I know how bad it hurts, but it's probably better that way..Unfortunetly friends do come and go. Even after 20 plus years. Hope you feel better soon...

I'm sorry :(

Thanks everyone. She was going to take my kids to the beach this week so I planned on having it a little easier for my second post op week. But I am actually really glad that they are home with me for some quality time.

One thing that has made it easier is this site/app. I've stayed off Facebook so I don't see her on there (we went to hs together so have lots of mutual friends).

Life will go on!
