Scars
I had a cyst removed from my throat when I was three and I still have the scar. It's very light (read almost paper white) now but it's still there. I dropped a scalding hot cup of coffee and got 3rd degree burns on my ankle when I was 6, still have the scar. It's much lighter and smaller, but it's still there. I fell off of a porch and scraped my leg on the side of a wooden cabin when I was 8 - it left me with about a 12in long scar on my calf... The scar is still there but it's about half the size and covered by a tattoo so not really noticeable anymore... My c-section from 9/2010 - still there but much less visible.. If you didn't know I had a c-section you wouldn't know what it is. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say, the scars will never fully go away, but in about 6-12mos they should fade and become much less noticeable.

Your Saturday - Sunday Discussion
In light of Easter weekend I wanna know... How will you spend your weekend? This morning I took my nephew and son to an Easter egg hunt and then the park. This afternoon after a short nap my son and I played outside while my nephew helped my dad fix the fence, and then the boys and I went to a family fun festival in the city where we live. Tomorrow were headed to the falls to spend the day swimming and hanging out with friends, and afterwards we'll head to my moms house for Easter dinner. Anyone else have any fun plans this weekend?

Only The Best Nsv - Ever!
I had to share because weight wise I've been holding steady around 225, but inches wise... I found my box of pre-pregnancy clothes (198 and a size 14/16 before I got prego 1/2010) - Just for shots and giggles I tried on what *used* to be my favorite bra... It fit! Then I pulled out a pair of pants... THEY FIT! Lastly I pulled out a shirt and IT FIT! I haven't been able to wear these clothes in 2 years and they freaking fit! I'm doing a little happy dance right now

Growling?
That's pretty typical for being so close to your surgery. I'm almost 3 months out and I think mine finally stopped talking to me about 3 weeks ago.

Don Get It Confused, Im A Drinker! Not An Alcoholic!
I drink wine now... I used to be a bacardi and diet or a margarita drinker, now the margaritas are too sweet and the bacardi n diet just doesn't taste the same. Now gimme a nice Reisling or a Malbec depending on my mood and in a happy camper!

Sleeve Capacity At Eight Weeks Seems More Than It Should Be
My PA saw me at my last visit and told me that the capacity of my sleeve is anywhere from 8-12oz, but he did also say that doesn't meant I'll be able to ear that much since its not taking into consideration the lining if the stomach which is apparently quite thick. He said the most I'll probably ever be able to eat is about 9oz comfortably and that it will take some time to get there. I was also told to measure, not weigh, my food. What I'm getting at is that there really isn't one single standard and were all different. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Craving Pizza, Surgery Tuesday. Help!
I was supposed to be liquid pre-op but the protein shakes made me want to vom so I just ate some type of lean protein instead of drinking them... I'd say get the food funerals out of the way now by making sure all those unhealthy tempting foods are out if the house now rather than post op when you'll be dying to just have a bite of something.

Sf Popsicles Are Amazing!
LOL... At 15 calories a pop I doubt they'll halt my weight loss, but I get it

Sf Popsicles Are Amazing!
I've been craving sweets for two days so instead of eating something sweet, I'm eating SF popsicles instead. I've had like 5 already tonight!

What Are You Looking Like?
I have lost 50lbs at 2 1/2 mos post-op but I've pretty much been stalled for the last 3 weeks. Most people notice in my face the weight that I've lost.

It's Thursday Thinker Time!
- It's Thursday Thinker Time!
I know I've been slacking on the topic of the day lately - I'm sorry! I know a lot of you really look forward to them, I've just been crazy busy at work lately and I've actually been working. I know, me working at work? It's unheard of, but it's true! I'll try and do better from now on And now on to Thursdays thinker! Change and growth take place when a person has risked himself and dares to become involved with experimenting with his own life. Herbert Otto- Do You Ever..........?
All the freaking time!- Help- I'm Not Feeling The Restriction
I have to respectfully disagree with this. Some pills are time release and therefore crushing them would significantly reduce their effectiveness and could have potentially detrimental effects if too much of a medication is released into the blood stream at once. Please, don't ever crush your pills unless your Dr specifically instructs you to.- Help- I'm Not Feeling The Restriction
It's totally normal - You won't feel the restriction until you start eating dense protein. Very few actually feel the restriction while on liquids or purees.- Vitamins
I think I might be the only one here who wasn't put on liquid/chewable medications/multivitamins. I'd say just go get a regular multivitamin- Pizza Pizza!
Oh, and I walked 10miles today at Disney so I feel like my little indulgence was well compensated for. Yeah?- Pizza Pizza!
Just had my first slice of pizza post op... It was thin crust and I ate everything but the crust and it was delicious! It was killing me that my family ordered pizza and I've been smelling it for the last hour, chugging crystal light trying to ignore the craving. I lost that battle but tomorrow is a new day, I'll start fresh in the morning- Nuts?
Bowel blockage huh? Hmm... So then it could explain constipation?- Nuts?
Does anyone remember hearing something about nuts being a no-no food? I feel like I may have heard something about it in my pre-op info session, but as I sit here eating a handful of Emerald Sweet & Salty dark chocolate Peanut Butter mixed nuts, I can't for the life of me remember what it was... Anybody?- Perhaps A Disgusting Topic But Advice Always Appreciated
The foamy saliva is what we usually refer to as the slimes/slimys. It's totally normal. In my experience generally happens when you eat and drink at the same time and your sleeve is full or if you've eaten too fast.- Horseback Riding After Surgery--How Soon After?
This is a pretty unique situation - I'd as your Dr.- Hey Guess What!?
I'm officially 50lbs down as of a couple days ago! Woohoo!!!!! I've been stalled for about 3 weeks but I stepped on the scale the other day and had lost 4 more lbs, putting my total (including pre0op diet loss) at 50! I'm exactly 30lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight and once I hit that I'm treating myself to some new clothes! Until then I'll just keep borrowing from friends- Alcohol After Being Sleeved
I was told no alcohol for a year, but I broke that at about 7 weeks and had a few glasses of wine with some girlfriends one night and I was perfectly fine. I had a pretty high tolerance for alcohol before though so those 4 glasses really did nothing for me except give me a headache the next morning.- It's Friday Confession Time!
I have 3 Air Delight Hershey Kisses every day at work, after lunch. It's like my dessert - It's Thursday Thinker Time!
