Can't Get Motivated To Work Out
I use a Kinect on the Xbox for exercise when it is too cold outside to walk. Your body is the controller so you don't need to hold a remote or have leg straps. I got Just Dance 2 , Kinect Adventures, Gunslinger, and Fruit Ninja.

Undecided On Which Surgery, Looking For Advice, And Info.
I think the sleeve is better because you don't get dumping syndrome when you eat sugary foods.

Trying To Figure Out Expectations...
I've lost 40+ counting the 1 week pre-op liquid diet! My starting weight was 300 lbs and now I am 260. It has been a little over a month since my Dec 6th surgery date.

Lap-Band Tragedy
This is so sad. I feel really sorry that this happened to that poor woman, right after she retired too. I wanted to get the band when I came in for my consultation but they convinced me that it would not be a good choice. Even the lady right next to me as I was waiting for surgery was getting a revision to a sleeve from a band. She was extremely obese so the band had done nothing for her.

Sick After 5 Weeks Post Op
My doctor says that Tylenol products are the best for sleeve so I'd go with them. He says the other medications will irritate it.

Do You Have A Lot Of Loose Skin After Losing Weight?
I heard of people using spandex sleeves on their arms and belly to avoid the loose skin. I don't know if that works or not. I been using coco butter to help keep my body mosturized.

Stall. Getting Over It? How Long Til I See A Change?
Use a tape measure to see results if you are lifting weights or doing other exercise. You may be gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat. A pound of feathers has more mass than a pound of concrete. Same goes with fat and muscle.

My Fav After Pics Ever
You look so much more young and handsome. I laughed at the family picture! How silly to be able to fit them in your old belt.

Leaks
My surgeon said that 2% of his patients develop the leaks. I haven't got a leak myself. It is rare but does happen. Most of the time it is the patient's fault because they do not adhere to the dietary guidelines.

My Solution To The High Cost Of The Ever Changing Clothes
What great tips. I live in Dallas too so will be checking out "Larger Than Life". I'm a clothes snob so feel icky if I wear someone else's used clothes. I really need to get over that. I've spent thousands at plus size shops Avenue, Catherines, Fashion Bug, Torrid and Lane Bryant. I even have credit cards for all of them. Most do not fit me very good now so a resale shop is where I should sell them at. How do those shops work? Do they give you money for the clothes or let you trade them?

Is Excessive Coughing From Cold Hurting New Sleeve?
Make sure your cough medicine is Tylenol or generic since my doctor says the other kinds irritate your sleeve. I developed a cough and runny nose during the week so been taking Tylenol cold and flu medicine. Make sure to ask your doctor about the problem you are experiencing with your reflux and cold medicine interaction.

Post - Op Recovery / Ability
Yes, if you get it done laproscopically then it is no trouble at all to care for yourself. I did feel very dizzy when I got out of bed so had to sit down where I was standing immediately. My stomach was really sore so the pain medication helped quite a bit. I kept it in the fridge so it tasted much better and even started thinking of it as a sugary treat. I had the surgery on Tuesday and went back to work the following Monday. I have a sit down office job so the doctor approved the quick transition. The smell of food did make me sad because I knew I couldn't eat it but never made me feel sick.

Proving Prior Weight Loss Attempts?
Yes in the letter my PCP wrote it listed out my prior weight loss attempts. You should have him make another letter saying all the diet drinks and such that you have tried.

Tips For Protein Shakes?!
I buy a case of chocolate flavored Myoplex lite at Sam's club with 20g of protein per 11 oz shake. It doesn't have as much thickness so I can get it down faster. I think it is the best and most inexpensive I've tried.

The Surprise Benefit Of Hope
This is so true. I now wake up and hope that my fat legs look leaner instead of just sigh and accept it won't get any better.

Food Addiction?
I was on the HCG diet for a month as well and lost 30 lbs, only to gain it all back. It was a diet for me so I thought of it as a temporary change when I should have adopted a lifestyle change. Diets don't work at all for people in the long term, only lifestyle changes. I think you stuck to the diet because you thought of it as a diet, only a temporary change. When you stopped dieting, you may have over ate once again. I personally think over eating is the same as addiction since you can't stop yourself! I used to eat until I felt full because I loved the feeling so much. It made me feel safe and secure to have a warm tummy filled with food. Getting this surgery forced me to change how I ate and not go back to my old ways.
