  1. Same here! By keeping on the weight I knew I'd have issues down the line. I would still be 300 lbs or more right now if I didn't have the surgery.
  2. This may sound stupid to be excited about but I can now cross my legs when sitting at tables and at my desk at work. My knee brushes the top of the table slightly when crossed. I went to crossing my legs under a table to not being able to cross them AT ALL!! What a great feeling!!!
  3. I lost 100 lbs on my own over the course of 5 years and still had the surgery. It was really hard getting the weight off by myself. I kept going back to my old ways of overeating and not exercising.
  4. I am 55 lbs down in 3 months so I'd think 80-100 lbs in 6 months is definately doable.
  5. I got a Taylor Bowflex scale that measures water and body weight. It goes up to 400 lbs too. Amazon had a $5 off coupon in the Coupons section if interested.
  6. Here are the foods I usually eat during the day at work. For dinner I will have protein like chicken, shrimp or fish with veggies. I do not eat anything past 7 pm. It seems during the day, I like sweet foods that end up making me eat 100+ carbs. Do you know any alternatives to these foods I'm eating that have less carbs?
  7. I don't see why not. Stay away from the stuff others have warned you about. I am still wary about eating bread, rice and pasta and I am almost 3 months out. I had 1/6 a breadstick at Olive Garden and felt OK afterwards but any more than that might have gotten stuck.
  8. My surgeon said that only Tylenol products are safe since other medicine can irritate the pouch. I guess every doctor's plan is different, though.
  9. Wow I probably eat 100 carbs a day and am still losing weight. Maybe I should knock back half that to lose even more.
  10. I got a $30 gift card from my grandfather as a birthday gift so I went to Kohls to use it. I could fit in size 1x tops and 16 size dresses in the regular women's section. They had such a huge womens section compared to a tiny plus size section hidden in the back of the store. I'm so excited that I don't have to be limited to plus size stores anymore.
  11. I would do what Massindex says. It isn't their business what surgery you had but if they ask, you should minimize the severity of it. You don't want them to think "Oh she is going to be a liability on our insurance premiums!"
  12. Yes I been wondering about this too. On Saturday, I ate at a Cajun restaurant and shared the seafood boil with my sister. I ate like 5 tiny crawfish tails, plus 3 jumbo shrimp, 2 crab legs and one half of the potato. I was surprised at how much I could eat on this day. Usually I can't even finish 1/3 of this. Monday, I tried eating chicken and broccoli for lunch but it got stuck within the first few bites. I yakked for 2 hours in the work bathroom to get it all out, it was sooo painful and embarassing. I ended up not eating anything the rest of the day besides a Protein drink and Water. Last night, I ate at Chilis and had the 6 oz steak on the 2 for $20 meal deal. I could only eat 1/4 of the steak, a spoonful of mashed potatoes and one broccoli spear. I have the rest of the meal for lunch today but I still might not finish it all. So you think it has to do with bowel movements as to why we can eat so much one day and barely anything else the next? Maybe!
  13. That's great, Missileer. My BMI is 34 and I'm obese now instead of morbidly obese. :purplebananna:
  14. I can't wait until this happens to me. I think plus size clothing is so unflattering and unstylish. I used to think my clothes were so cool but now I see they were meant to hide my hugeness. I'm at size 14 top and 18 bottoms right now so I hope I go down quick so I never have to shop in a plus size store like Avenue or Lane Bryants again!!
  15. I'm sure it will help you. The sleeve procedure is so great! I love it that I can only eat half of a small appetizer or kid's meal at restaurants. I leave the waiters baffled at how a fat girl can eat so little. LOL Hopefully I won't be this way for long with all the weight loss. I've shedded 50 lbs since my 1 week post surgery liquid diet! I was only sleeved December 6th!
  16. Eating is a chore for me too. I no longer enjoy my food AT ALL. I keep fearing it will get stuck and leave me with the severe pain in my chest whilst I cough it up. I make sure to liquify all food before I will swallow.
  17. Yeah it is horrible. I burp and run in place until it comes out. I've drank pineapple juice before and that helped somewhat. I hate the feeling so much that I'm afraid to eat dry food without any type of sauce.
  18. I always wait 30-45 min before and after eating to drink. To ease the stuck food, my doctor said to drink pineapple juice since the acid in it helps break up the food. I'm trying to find the juice in those tiny cans so I can keep them in the car in case there is an emergency but couldn't find them anywhere. My mom used to give me them when I was little.
  19. Wow! I went swimming at the gym the other day and weighed myself in my swimsuit. The scale said 252 but my swimsuit has a heavy skirt on the bottom that covers everything and I have metal rings on the straps. I think this means I'm 250, 50 lbs lighter than when I started the surgery process. I feel so much better and can fit in size 14 tops and size 18 bottoms. I'm a pear shape so my top and bottom were always different sizes. YAY I feel so happy!
  20. Yes today I had that happen during lunchtime. I felt sooo sick that I had to gag until the food came out. It was horrible with so much pain. Maybe I didn't chew my food up enough before swallowing so a piece got stuck at the top of my stomach. I guess we have to sip and eat very slow with lots of chewing for this not to happen anymore.
  21. SF jello is soo good. I can't even tell the difference in taste. I like the 60 cal pudding snacks they make too. My favorite is the dark chocolate tuxedo.
  22. I can't. I have to sip the water or I feel it get stuck in my throat. It is an awful feeling but I'm used to having to sip so I avoid it.
  23. I like Sargento light string cheese. They have 6g of protein and only 50 calories! i get the 24 count at Sam's for $5. In the regular grocery store, they can be pricey at $4 for 12 most of the time. I like activia yogurt but not the greek kind. It is too thick and gets stuck in my throat. I will add unflavored protein powder to the activia to boost the protein. I also bought a big bag of frozen fruit at Sam's and use it for snacking and smoothies. The frozen mango is soo creamy and tastes like eating a ball of sorbet right out of the bag. I also buy a big bag of Tyson's grilled and ready chicken since it comes in strips and microwaveable. I count out 5-6 strips and frozen veggies to take to work with me in the morning and put some salsa, spaghetti sauce or kikkoman sauces in a plastic baggie to pour over it. This makes a fast lunch!
  24. I ate black refried Beans by Bush's. They were a lot tastier and healthy than the brown bean paste. I found them at Kroger Signature but haven't spotted them at any other store near me. I ate them for every lunch and dinner meal with some mild salsa and cheese. For breakfast I had thinned oatmeal or cottage cheese. I didn't get tired of eating the same thing every day and still don't. I just don't care about food that much anymore. I started on mushy foods 3 weeks after my surgery but every surgeon has different guidelines. You should find out what yours recommends for you. I'm following the diet to the T with very little cheating. If I do want a cheat food then I will only eat a small bit of it in the morning so it gets plenty of time to digest and burn off during the day.
  25. Yes I only weight once a week. I went 2 weeks without weighing and lost 10 more lbs!
