Sleeved On 12-12-2011 And Cruising On 1-15-12
I would ask you surgeon what he wants you to be eating. I'd think that since you are one month out you can have pureed foods. You should stay away from the sugary carb infused cocktails and daquiris that are abundantly found on cruises. Ask for fruit smoothies instead and add in protein to it so you stay full. I'm sure the cruise kitchen will get you any pureed food you ask for. They are there to serve you!

How Long Do The 3rd Week Stalls Usually Last?
Don't go by the scale but use a tape measure to see if you have lost inches. When you exercise you build muscles, which weighs more than fat pound for pound. I only weight myself once a week because I get discouraged otherwise.

Sweets
Torani sugar free syrups are pretty tasty to put as a topping on yogurt or what have you.

Missing Vitamins And Weight Stalling?
Try not to miss any doses of your vitamins since it affects your energy level. I got a daily dose pill box with compartments for AM and PM. It makes it easier to know what vitamins and pills I need every day without any guess work.

How Long To Start Losing Weight After Surgery?
Don't worry! It will come off of you but I hear there is a 3 week stall. I didn't have that problem myself. The only reason you lose weight is your body is burning more calories than you are consuming.

I Just Got Out Of The E.r.....
Could it be your gallbladder? I heard that when you have stones in there you feel a stabbing-like pain. Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Please Help...nervous
If you drink or eat too fast then you feel that tightness. Always remember to never drink and eat at the same time. Wait 30 - 45 minutes between the two actions. I had left side pain as well that was probably from all the gas. Take the antacid and Gas-X strips to aliviate this pain. If you get a leak then I hear you get a high fever and chest pain since your body is trying to fight infection.

Need Encouragement
Are you doing any exercise? Even walking will help speed the weight loss. I been walking and riding the stationary bike at the gym almost every day for 30 minutes each.

Really Is Thinking About Getting Da Sleeve.
I'm 29 with no serious health problems either but I choose the sleeve because it seemed "just right" compared to the bypass (too much) and band (too little).

Clothes Closet Nsv!
Wow what awesome news! You sure are saving tons of money since some people have to buy a whole new wardrobe. I'm the same way in thinking that because I'm so big it doesn't make any sense to dress up so don't have many nice oufits. I can't wait until nothing in my closet will fit anymore too!

I'm Always Cold!
I been getting cold a lot more too. It may have to do with losing fat in your body that once warmed you up like a polar bear's fat.

Food Cost Difference
Yes I've never had this much money left after a payday before. I used to spend $500 on eating out and groceries each month but since being sleeved it is less than $100 total for December.

Eating
I'm on mushies so measure out an amount equal to a deck of cards. I guess that's 3-4 oz of food at a time. I drink 2 protein shakes a day at 10 am and 3 pm with 3 small meals in between.

Question For Those Who Have Had A Sleeve For Awhile.
Susannesh~ I thought eventually sleevers could eat up to 1600 calories a day to maintain the weight loss. So 800 is the maximum to aim for on your diet? Is this by choice or did a nutritionist recommend it?

I Almost Regret Having Had This Sleeve Gastrectomy!
Maybe the protein drinks are too thick for you. Try skimming them down with soy milk or water. I had my surgery a day later than you and am already on puree foods. Every one's body reacts to changes differently so give yourself some time to get the liquids down.

Flatulence On Liquid Diet, Kind Of Embarrassing
Same here! If I'm at work I will go to the bathroom and let it all out. Of course I check to make sure no one is there first. When I was drinking Slim Fast on a month long crash diet, the same thing happened when I had a natural stomach. I bought some Gas-X strips that dissolve on the tongue and it really helps stop all the gas I been having.

Traveling? How Soon Post-op?
You should be OK but get your doctor's approval first. Some good pureed fast food I've had is mashed potatoes at KFC, meat inside of a soft taco at Taco Bell or Taco Bueno, chili at Wendy's (chew up the beans before swallowing), and top of a cheese pizza slice at Pizza Hut.
