Tips For Eating Slower !
Using chopsticks is a fabulous idea! I always eat very slow when I use them and could use more practice. I LOVE sushi and all other Asian food.

Spit - dont swallow!
This can lead to an eating disorder so I don't think it is a good idea to do it too often. When you put something in your mouth, the digestive process begins and the juices come up from your stomach. It can cause an ulcer! http://voices.yahoo....069.html?cat=70

2500 Calories Today
It isn't the end of the world! Maybe try to exercise harder to offset the amount of calories eaten.

Going On A Date..what To Eat?
A very skinny co-worker cuts up half of whatever she is served and then sets it aside, then eats the other half. She eats veeery slow. When everyone is done eating, she gets it boxed up and takes it home to her husband so he can eat it. I wonder if she has weight loss surgery or just practices healthy eating habits.

I Absolutely Cannot Wait For My Gastric Sleeve Surgery!
I have a photo of me from behind in a swimsuit as I'm picking up seashells. It makes me cringe everytime! Because of that photo and every other one taken, I had to do something to feel better about myself. Good for you for wanting a better life! I wish your sleeve journey lots of luck.

First Time Eating In A Restaurant With The Gastric Sleeve
Last night my friends and I went to Chili's, my first time going to a restaurant since my sleeve was done. I was feeling sooo nervous that there was not going to be anything I wanted to eat. I hadn't seen some of my friends in so long that I had to make myself go! All my friends are big eaters so it was difficult being around them at the table while they ate awesome looking food. I nervously asked the waitress to give me pureed chicken enchilada Soup and it turned out pretty good but gave me gas. I noticed several new things now that I was sleeved. First of all, I could actually carry on a conversation with those around me because I could focus on what was said. Before the sleeve I was so focused on eating and could not wait to shovel food in my mouth. The time before the food came was always so difficult for me so I would fill up on chips and salsa. Another thing was my bill was sooo cheap at only $3 for a cup of soup. I would spend 10-15 bucks before when I'd go out to eat. Also, I found out that I can no longer tolerate spicy foods which really upsets me. I used to LOVE Mexican and Indian food but it seems now I will not be able to enjoy it any longer. I talked to my friend at work who was sleeved and she said the same about spicy cuisine. How has going out to eat changed for you since being sleeved? Can you eat spicy foods without feeling sick?

If You've Had The Vsg Surgery Please Please Reply
I used to sleep on my tummy prior to surgery since I could not fall asleep on my back or side. Now I sleep on my back or I will feel pain. I don't wake up with zits anymore since my face is not rubbing against the pillow all night. I bought a Sobakawa Cloud Pillow, which has REALLY helped. It hugs your head and neck and it is more comfortable to sleep so you wake up with no back pain.

Medication Problems Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Since getting the sleeve I've found that my medications are all screwed up. I need to crush them for 3 months. One was a time release medication but I crushed it up anyways without knowing and now feel like I haven't been taking it. I'm going to call the doctor today and get another kind that is able to be crushed up. Make sure you get your medications switched so they all can be crushed or compounded in syrup if you have this surgery!

Size 1x! Omg!111
I went shopping today and could fit in a 1x (is this an 18)? without it being too tight on me. I got a christmas shirt that is red with gems on it and a black /white work shirt. I used to be a 3x in college and a 2x before starting the pre - op diet. I haven't weighed myself since the surgery but I may have dropped 7-10 lbs since. I'm so thrilled!!

Why Are Post Gastric Sleeve Surgery Diets So Different?
I was wondering this too. My doc says 1 week of clear liquids such as broth and then 2 weeks full liquids such as protein drinks. Then it is 2 weeks of mushy foods before you can eat anything solid.

How Long Did You Go From The 'idea' To Booking Your Gastric Sleeve Surgery ?
I started the process in July and was sleeved in December 6th. I work for a company that owns hospitals so it only cost $350 for the surgery and $25 copay for each session. I still haven't been billed for the sleep study or EKG but know that's probably coming. I only got the surgery because my mom died from cancer in August at 52 years old. She was 500 lbs and suffered from other obesity related illnesses. I was like "I don't want that to ever happen to me!" so had to do this for my health. I been obese most my life but am very healthy otherwise with no high blood pressure, cholesterol or any illnesses of any kind.

Why No Water For 1 Hr Before Or After Meals?
I was told that drinking water with your food will make your sleeve stretch faster. I don't want that happening so will not be drinking until 30 minutes later.

Help 12 Days Out Gastric Sleeve Surgery And Just Now Having Awful Pains!
12 days out and you are eating?! That may be the problem. My doctor said that I have to wait 3 weeks to eat mashed up foods. Try only drinking liquids for now and call your doctor. A sleeve takes 3 weeks to heal unlike 1 week for bypass and band.

Leslie Sansone DVD's
A co-worker who had the sleeve recommended those to me so I think I'll try to get a used set.
