  2. Im so glad you posted this....I really hope Im the same way when it comes to not having a taste for it anymore. Good for you for being able to stay away!!
  3. Congrats and I hope you have a speedy recovery!!
  4. Thanks and I wish the best for you also! I've decided Im going to use these pics as motivation when Im down about not being able to eat like a maniac anymore!
  5. They say pictures are worth a thousand words...well I was speechless. I knew I wanted the surgery but now I CANT WAIT!! I've never hated how I look as much as I do right now. Good luck with your sleeve...can't wait to see some of your before/after pics! And maybe one day I'll post my dreaded before pic.
  6. My family had Christmas pics made Sunday and I got them back today. After looking through them alone I quickly realized that NONE of the ones that I am in will be posted for anyone to see UNTIL I lose some of this stupid weight! From day one of wanting to have this surgery I have wanted it for my health...but after seeing those pics and busting out in tears when I was trying to explain to my husband that they look horrible with me in them, (he was at work) I have decided that I want to be healthy AND in better shape! I have always been thick but now Im just a huge blob......*sigh* my surgery date can't get here soon enough! :'( On a different note...I have a few good 'before' pics for my WLS album.
  7. Rhondalynn...I am in North Ga also and plan on using Dr. Scott! (pending approval and all) I was wondering if you could maybe give me a little more info on what to expect from him?! I havent met with him yet but I plan on it next week. Thanks Im also going to send you a private message if possible. (Im kinda new here and never have sent one before)
  8. So I guess it would just be safer to wait til after surgery to get the Mirena?? And I didnt know it hurt to have it put in...darn it!
  9. I have a nurse case worker also. We have only talked once but she has me on the right track getting me going. We had a scheduled (phone) meeting this past monday and she went over some questions with me then let me ask all of the questions I wanted (I had a page full! lol) She also was prepared to help me make a decision on a surgeon but I'd already done that. She answered questions about my insurance and what it covered, as well as questions about my hospital stay and so on. From my understanding she will be guiding and answering questions through out my whole process and after surgery as well. Im glad b/c I like the idea of one person keeping up with me instead of a whole bunch of random people. Someone that works with my husband is having his surgery on the 21st and we have the same nurse case worker and I know she was at some of his appointments with him. I havent had any appointments yet so Im not sure how that works.
  10. Im so glad you asked this...I have been wondering the same thing.
  11. I have been so excited about getting everything together for the process to begin then I had a FREAK OUT moment at 4am the other night. I woke up in a panic thinking "what if something happens and my babies don't have a momma anymore??" "What if I go through all of this and nothing changes??" (like with allllll my other attempts to lost weight) What if....what if....what if!!!! Then I started thinking about all of the positive changes that can happen. Being able to buy clothes that I like and not just b/c they fit! Being able to play sports again without running out of breath 5 min into a game! And the biggest motivation for me...being around longer for my kids. It would be really nice to be in smaller sizes but my main concern is to be healthy so my family will have me around longer. So for me weighing out the pros and cons is how I get through all of the 'what if's'!
  12. I just asked my nurse case worker this exact question Monday b/c I have plans on getting the Mirena at the beginning of the year. She told me that she's almost positive that it's ok but it mostly depends on your surgeon.
  13. I see that today is the big day for the OP...I hope everything goes great for you!!
  14. Thanks so much! I just cross checked and the hospital/surgeon I was leaning toward is on both lists! That helps ease my mind alot. Thanks again...you rock!!
  15. WOW..what an inspiration your story has been. Im happy you're doing so well!
