I have been eating Chinese take out since about 3 weeks so you should be fine. Just stay away from anything fried, with rice or noodles or anything with a real sugary sauce. I tend to lean towards chicken egg foo young or Mongolian beef.

I know every doctor is different. My doctor willnt allow rice, bread and any flour products until the six month. He states it will get stuck and you will be miserable for hours. Honestly, I don't think our stomach is healed enough for rice, my opinion. I can barely get an oz of food in and I am 4.5 weeks post op. If you are hungry my doctor prescribed a medication to relieve the hungar pains which he described as not really being hungar. Good luck... egg drop soup would be a good choice.

According to the diet plan that my doctor gave me on discharge I can not have rice, bread until farther out post op. I know that each doctor is different but to be safe I would check with your NUT. You certainly do not want the rice to plug you up and make you sick and start vomiting at this early stage so close to your surgery. I am 9 weeks out and almost stopped yesterday at Chinese to get some chicken and veggies.

I don't see why not. Stay away from the stuff others have warned you about. I am still wary about eating bread, rice and pasta and I am almost 3 months out. I had 1/6 a breadstick at Olive Garden and felt OK afterwards but any more than that might have gotten stuck.
