Lets Talk About Toots, Shall We?
yep, it took me a week to go. Surgeon was not concerned. Advised me to take stool softeners every day, and on day 6 told me to take a laxative like Milk of Magnesia. I did, and the next day I had a bm. Don't think you need Gasx when you don't have any gas!!!

Protein

Finally Found Good Flavored Protein
Maybe you're lactose intolerant now? there is lactaid milk in stores. also, there are pills you can take. Might be worth a try then you can continue with the Protein powder you like. I also like Syntrax nectar. There are a lot of flavors and you can mix them with Water. I found the strawberry kiwi good and am waiting on my order to be delivered. If the flavor is a little strong on any of them, you can always add more water. There is a sample pack you can order for 13.00 that has all the flavors included.

6 Days Post Op And I'm Starving.
yes, absolutely you can have the broth after you strain the pieces out. That is then considered a clear liquid.

***need Your Opinions Everyone***
I totally agree with the others. I would be much more inclined to work with you than some skinny minny who's been that way all their life...lol!! Your experience, history, and journey will be such as asset as a trainer. Wish you lived close to me sister!! Good luck, I bet you'll be the best of the best!

I Looove My Sleeve! Its Soooooooo Understanding And Tolerant
Anything can be pureed if you can blenderize it to a thin consistency. So the chicken can be pureed as well as the spaghetti, although that sure would be a lot of carbs so soon after surgery. I was sleeved on Mon 4/23 and will be on full liquids another week before puree phase. As we know though, surgeons are soooo different in what they require us to do or not do....... keep on workin' it!

How Is Everyone?
Okay people - How about checking in and telling everyone what's going on right now? I'm feeling a little stronger each day (I think ), but am tired. I'm not doing much at all except for walking. Otherwise, I am in my recliner watching TV and playing on the computer. I'll be off work for this week still. I find myself thinking about food a lot even though I am not hungry, especially pizza. Don't see my surgeon until the 15th. I basically feel good except for the spasms I get, and soreness. Is anyone back to work? How's eating? Are you getting a lot of rest? Please tell me what's happening!! Hugs to all. Joni

Starting The Journey
First, my heart goes out to you for all the pain you've endured. I am newly sleeved (4/23). I congratulate you on making this decision and taking charge of your life. You're right, you need to get healthy and play/run with your kids. You've come to the right place on this forum -you'll find so much support and caring here. Good luck on your journey.

Asking For Help
My sister told me this - if you don't let others do favors for you or ask others for help, it really is wrong. When we allow others to help, we are helping them. They are then able to give freely, making themselves better individuals. We are all here to do for others, love each other, care for each other. Why should you not allow those in your life who care about you to show it? Maybe you don't feel you truly deserve it? Well, YOU do, as we all do. I think once you allow others to help, it might get easier. You will feel better, and those that are helping you will feel great for having done so. Bite the bullet, and let others do for you. Good Luck. Hugs to you.

Post Op Day 4- Hungry And Depressed
Sleeved 4/23 -and I'm taking in 3 (8 ounce) Protein Shakes a day for a total of at least 68 gm protein, homemade chicken broth, carb master yogurt, thinned cr of wheat, thinned mashed potatoes, and Water. I can eat 6 to 8 ounces of broth or a 6 oz yogurt at one time. cr of wheat or potatoes are about 1/4 cup. I spread all of this out from 10a to 1a. Yesterday I took a teeny bite of a roasted potato, chewed it, and spit it out. Then I had a teeny piece of chicken and chewed it to nothing. My daughter had brought food home from a party and I couldn't resist. Just that little teeny bit was satisfying, so it worked for me. I totally understand licking the food!

Broth
I use a whole chicken and sometimes a package of wings too, water to just about cover the chicken, couple carrots, couple celery stalks with leaves, one onion, 6 peppercorns, about a teaspoon of salt - let that come to a boil then turn down to simmer for a few hours. Strain the soup, put in frig overnight. Skim fat off top that has solidified during the night. Makes a wonderful soothing broth. Oh, I also sometimes use 15 to 32 oz of canned chicken broth to make more, and if adding at the beginning it loses the can taste completely.

The Thought Of Some Food Making Me Sick
Oh no, you're definitely not alone. Unjury Chocolate Splendor which I HAD thought tasted just like chocolate milk, today suddenly tasted like chalk. Beef broth also tasted wonderful 2 days ago, not so good today...... I ordered some Syntrax Nectar Strawberry Kiwi and Protein To Go french vanilla latte shots which should be here Tuesday, I'm hoping those will taste okay.

Post Op Day 4- Hungry And Depressed
I was sleeved on 4/23. I am getting all my fluids and protein in, and do not feel hungry at all - BUT - I truly miss food. I really want some pizza and a cheeseburger too! I keep telling myself, it's not as if I'll never have them again - JUST NOT NOW. I have to wait. I totally want what I want when I want it, just like a 2 year old. It's time for me to grow up and get healthy. I can't have what I want to eat any ole time I feel like having it. Those days are done. I didn't go through this surgery to fail. There will be time for pizza and time for cheeseburgers, the time is not now. Good luck fellow sleevers!!

Anyone Have This Sensation Post Op?
Yes, I'm also using the little plastic medicine cups, and that helps big time with the amount of each sip.
-
4-Days Post Op - Dizzy!
i would definitely first think not enough fluid. sip, sip, sip.
-
Anyone Have This Sensation Post Op?
kelly - not sure this will help, but if you find the sip you have taken is too big, hold it in your mouth and swallow a little at a time. If I take too big a sip or a gulp, I pay big time with a huge spasm. The pain is teaching me real quick.

Next Week Sleevers ? Or Anyone Whom Are Upcoming April Sleevers?
I have been able to get in the fluid and protein but I know what you mean about drinking too fast or in my case taking too much in one sip. I pay dearly for that with a nice spasm in my throat and chest that doesn't go away quick enough. It really hurts, so I try to pay attention to my sips. And it seems I'm sipping all day long to get in the minimum.
