Protein & Excercise
I was sleeved on 4/23. Protein goal 70 grams. Fluids 64 ounces. Walking at first at your own pace, a mile sounds perfect! Good luck and I agree with ChaCha, you need a NUT to help you along with expert advice. Good luck!

6 Weeks Post-Op
You're my hero!! When I saw you posted 6 weeks postop - my first thought was - no way, already?? Funny how time flies. And I had/have all those same feelings of how long things take. And not only that, but I remember weighing 160 and looking damn good, but WW said around 140 for me too. My sister always gets down to recommended weight and she too, like your husband, looks like a refugee until she puts a little back on. I don't need that! AND, I plan on doing the same when the time comes - going to Eggface for new cooking lessons. She also has a section on shopping and it takes you to amazon and things she uses in the kitchen. VERY interesting and helpful if you haven't seen it yet. With so much so similar, are you my sister? Well yes, I suppose you are dear one! I hope you have a blessed weekend yourself. Hugs.

Like Button Not Working
I just tried logging out and back in, no luck.

Like Button Not Working
This just starting happening for me in the last couple days. Very frustrating. Works intermittently. As reported, the green bar appears for a few seconds and then...nothing. I use Windows Explorer.

Coffee
If you are on full liquids as I was 2nd day postop, you can certainly add some skim milk to it. We use milk to make our protein drinks right? I'm not allowed caffeine but you said decaf anyway. I say enjoy!

**please Help With Protein Question**
Yes Unjury says not over 130 degrees, so I used a food thermometer. That temp is just warm. I think if you refrig and reheat though it might clump up which you may or may not like. You can blend again though. It is a pain in the buttski!

Fyi, A Pound Of Muscle.....
Very interesting. This was an education for me. I was one of those that thought "muscle weighs more than fat." Thank you! And you explained it perfectlly for me to understand.

How Long Are You Out Of Work?
I was given 2 weeks off and they didn't even ask me what kind of work I do, it just seemed the standard. I work sitting on my butt so it's back to the grind on Sunday for me.

Next Week Sleevers ? Or Anyone Whom Are Upcoming April Sleevers?
protein to go vanilla latte - not so good for me. I have four of them, so I will try to get them down. And they contain caffeine - which I didn't realize and I know I'm not supposed to have. So jthurman, I don't know if you're allowed caffeine or not. If you are, then I don't see a problem. When in doubt, ask your NUT.

So...am I The Only One..?
I too was sooo scared they wouldn't do the procedure because my liver was going to be too big. Some surgeons will say if it's too big it's more extensive surgery or an open procedure (one big cut), but mine said, I won't do it if your liver is too big. Period. Scared the hell out of me. I had dreams of screaming after surgery because I didn't get the sleeve. I was so sure that even with not cheating my liver was going to be too big, so I told my husband to say Cheeseburger to me first thing in the recovery room if surgeon didn't do it because at least I would be able to eat after. So after surgery, he said NO Cheeseburger - it's done. My rec is if you're cheating, please stop. Oh, and first thing I asked surgeon was about my liver. He said it was "perfect."

Next Week Sleevers ? Or Anyone Whom Are Upcoming April Sleevers?
I had 2 different brands at first. The one I liked the most, I threw it out and don't know The other brand is pro balance and it was harder to get down. Now I ordered Protein to Go brand from amazon and am going to try it in a few minutes..... kczar - thank you - I had asked the NUT about them and she just said, sounds good - go for it. I'm glad to have some additional information.

Two Weeks Post-Op And Doing Well
I agree with formervbg. You sound like you have a great sense of knowing yourself and what needs to be done. Congrats on taking charge and going for it. You definitely do deserve a great life. Thanks for sharing your story.

Starting Over
I'm so sorry for what you're going through. We never know what will happen, and we should be aware there are always risks involved. I wish you well and hope you're on the road to recovery now. You're absolutely right about being your own advocate. It is so important, and I hope people who read your blog take it to heart. I bet once you're feeling better that weight is going to drop so fast you won't believe it! Hugs to you.

Almost Time! Surgery On May 7Th. Second Thoughts......
I was sleeved on 4/23, but I swear I was more nervous about the preop diet than anything else. I'm not gonna lie, it is really hard; but I was so proud that I was actually able to do it, and surgeon said my liver was "perfect." You just DO IT. Protect yourself, try not to put yourself in situations where you'll be tempted. I wanted to get locked ini a closet but you get the idea. I made a 2-week calendar with room to write and recorded something each day with my weight. I took great joy in crossing the days out. Some days are easier than others, you will get through it and on the other side, is the sleeve and the beginning of the new you!! Good luck and hugs.

What Foods Should I Eat One Last Time B4 Surgery?
Yes but it will definitely be awhile before you return to normal things. Depends on what your favs are.... If I choose for you, lots of pizza and cheeseburgers, and salad! That's what I miss the most.

Bodily Function Post/question..you Have Been Warned!
I agree they should. And someone said on here, never trust a fart, which I laughed at but now I completely understand how true that is!!

Am I Going Crazy? My Personality Changed.
Oh and my daughter asked me why I was so mean to her dad today! I asked him if he thought I had been rude and he said "sometimes, but I understand." I then blasted my daughter for "butting in." I then took a moment, and apologized to them both and said I would try to work on this a little harder but please cut me some slack. We all love each other, as your family loves you. You'll get through this. Not to worry.

Am I Going Crazy? My Personality Changed.
Just a thought, apologize when you're out of line, relax, and take it easy on yourself. You had a major surgery and are adjusting and recovering. Try to be kind to yourself and others. Come on this site to vent!

Almost Time! Surgery On May 7Th. Second Thoughts......
Absolutely - I was the same. Please follow the preop diet from here on out. You want your liver in tip top shape. I know it's murder, mine was grueling. After the sleeve, you won't have a choice to be bad. I was sleeved on 4/23 and I haven't been hungry once since then. And even if I wanted to be "bad" that couldn't happen when all I can do is sip a liquid!! This is a difficult journey, but well worth it I feel. Good luck!

Next Week Sleevers ? Or Anyone Whom Are Upcoming April Sleevers?
Those protein shots (berry blast, berry frost) saved my butt the last couple days when I got so turned off the protein shakes big time! They are not much better, someone called them "goo" I think they taste like medicine, but 2.5 ounces is not a lot to get down. I try to distract myself as I am sipping it down and in 15 minutes I have had 28 gm of protein. They will probably become intolerable soon, but they worked yesterday and today. I also just received from Protein To Go the vanilla latte protein shots, but haven't tried yet. I'll do that tomorrow morning.

Still Hopeful!
What an ignorant ass of a man. I'm sorry you were subjected to that. I will say a prayer for you that a door opens. Good luck!

Bodily Function Post/question..you Have Been Warned!
Interesting, as I am experiencing the same. I didn't think of the sweeteners. NUT told me if I was using high quality protein powder, it shouldn't be that. Maybe it's the milk, although I didn't have any most of the day and still diarrhea. But the sweeteners, hmmmm. Any particular sweetener worse than others?
