"all Things In Moderation"?
As my NUT said at a meeting, Watch totally what you eat with no treats or hardly any until you reach goal. Then you can figure out what your body will tolerate without gaining weight. Jeeni you just started your journey, don't sabotage yourself right at the beginning. I'm pre-op so I don't know what you are going through but I hope I can refrain from eating all the things that got me hear in the first place, bacause it is not a good place.

Cigna Insurance Filed...how Long Will The Verdict Take? (Is Age A Factor?)
Hi I don't think age had anything to do with it. It sounds like you did all the things your insurance required, I know nothing about Cigna. Don't be nervous, all are friends here and try to help everyone. Best of luck and let us know what happens.

(Pre)Pre-Op Diet?
What happened that they thought your liver was was larger than normal? You have not seen the surgeon yet! Who examined your stomach to determine this? Do you drink alcohol a lot? Just curious. This is one the few things I did not have to go through yet.

Tomorrow Is My Day.

Praying The Sleeve Helps With Diabetes...
I am also type 2 and am on huge amounts of insulin and pills. I am going to have this to do away with the insulin, I feel like a human pin cushion. I hear that it has helped many get off of insulin and also some that it just improved. Since you are not even on medicine and your A1C is 6.5 you should have it in remission in no time. Best of luck and let me know how it worked for you. I am not going to have surgery till sometime in October if everything keeps going well.

I Swear To God I Could Choke My Husband Right Now!
Thank God he cares enough to help you. It could be the stress your body is in that made you blow, after all the spouse is the closest person in our lives and we tend as women to take a lot of our emotions out on them, I know I do. Mine doesn't even ask me anything about the upcoming surgery at all. I think he thinks if he doesn't mention it it will go away and I won't have it.

I Am Just Amazed
Went to support meeting last night. Nutritionalist lady said please don't start treating yourself until you reach goal. Maybe a bite here or there. It is easy to get back unto your old ways and overeat. Not heard of anyone saying they have stretched their sleeve. Just a thought maybe you should see a physcologist and try to work on this eating thing. I know you want success and we all want it for you.

Gazelle Fitness Trainer
I used to use gym shoes. Maybe you don't have enough support bare foot ( I assumed you were bare foot from your comment about slippers).

Need Help Managing Major Back And Postoperative Pain
I don't think you are a baby. I also have and have had seveere back and neck pain. Sometimes no pain meds help at all. It seems so bad when you have no way to get out of it. Hang in there and rest and sometimes it gets tolerable. Good luck and I will say a prayer for you.

Just When Things Start Looking Up....
My husband had stage 4 bladder cancer. It went to his lymph nodes and he was put thru much chemo. He slept a lot He took the medicine that keeps you from getting sick(vomit). This went on for 6 months and he has been cancer free for 6 years. Do what they say, eat no time to diet (he was 100 lbs overweight and nobody knew how sick he was). I cooked everything for him in cast iron with a tomato in it to leach the iron out of the pot. Not the tastiest but it helped to keep his blood counts up. He did not loose his hair. Everyone doesn't. You don't believe them at first, then you get very angry, then you accept it and fight like he*#$. Best of luck and you are in my prayers.

One Week To Go Until First Appointment!
Best of luck Lila.. I too am waiting. I have my second appointment the same day you have your first. I have been through a lot of the before tests. the only thing I have left is the heart doctor (wanted to wait closer to surgery for that). It has been kind of a whirlwind trying to get it all done. Many tests and doctors visits, Now I found out that my PCD is leaving practice and now I must find a new one. Something else to consume my time finding a good Dr, It took 2 months to find the doctor for the sleeve surgery. Went to many meetings and researched for hours and finally found an experienced one on the sleeve. My insurance makes you wait 90 days from the first appointment which puts me at the end of september. Then the dr office said 2-4 weeks after that. Hope it is sooner and not later. Getting too close to the holidays. Best of luck to you and keep us infomed.
