  1. You both will do just fine. Hundreds of us have been thru this and made it and so will you. Just do this one day at a time.
  2. I am so sorry you had to go thru all this. You are in my prayers. God bless.

It sounds like he misses you his friend. You had a relationship with him and lunch time food and he wants that back. Maybe suggest that he bring his lunch once in awhile and you both could eat together. Then explain what you are going thru now so he understands. Men are dense sometimes and have to be told outright.

I have lost 50 some lbs in the past 3 months and I also had to go back on insulin. It was very disappointing for me also. I wanted to not be a human pin cushion for the rest of my life. This is the main reason I had surgery. Just hope as I lose more i still have hope.

Web sites like this one were my only means of support before and now after. If it was not for all these wonderful people I would never have had surgery. I would have backed out. So keep reading and asking questions while you find a new dr. We are all here for you.
  6. Congratulations!!!! That is quite an accomplishment in that amount of time or really in any amount of time.
  7. I increased my calories to 800 to 1000 and it seems this cold thing does not happen as often. About once a week it happens and I bundle up like you and turn the heating blanket on high and wait it out, usually a couple of hours. Once I get warm I turn blanket off and usually take off the really warm clothes. This is my experience.
  8. I take the batiatric fusion chewable vit and you take 3 a day. The mixed berry does not taste bad. It seems like a lot of vit but my nut says we need that much.

Good for you. Isn't it funny how we all equate normal to be something different? Usually it is the pple that we look up to. The so called pretty pple that have the looks, the good jobs, the great family lives and many friends. But just maybe we are the normal ones, ever think about that. Best of luck on your journey.

I pigged out the whole month before pre-op. Now I am 3 weeks out and down 31 lbs. I don't regret doing it. It was just one of those mental things. I have to have this and that one more time. We both know we are foodaholics and in my case carbaholic. We will have to deal with this the rest of our lives.

Everything will be OK. I told the anethesiolist, Your main job is to make sure I wake up. She said I have to make sure you wake up because there is too much paper work otherwise. We all, about 12 people in the OR with me, had a good laugh and then I was out. I always like to laugh before I am put out. That way it doesn't freak me out so bad. Try it, you won't be so scared.

I am newly sleeved 10 days ago. I went to my first WLS meeting 9 months ago. I had already looked into the band 4 years prior and even signed up for it but changed my mind. I am so glad I did. There are so many people out there with problems with the band. Do your research before your decide. When I went to the last WLS meeting I found out about the sleeve. I had never heard of it before. I went to consider the by-pass. When I heard about the sleeve I was very excited. That is when I started my research. And here I am 25 lbs lighter and things are looking up for me. Best of luck.
  13. I'm 10 days out and it was not that bad. The people in the hospital I went to were just great to me. From the people that signed me in to all the pple in the OR. There are a lot of pple in the OR so be prepared for that. A lot more than I would have thought. You will do just fine. I have already lost 25 lbs since pre-op. Keep your mind on that.
  14. looking good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interested in knowing why you are doing this for 6 months pre-op?

Good for you, you hardly had time to think about it or worry about it. Most of us started back in May or June and are not having surgery till Nov. All those test you talked about were stretched out over a few months. And now the anticipation, worry, should I still do it. See we have too much time to think. You are a very lucky girl. Best of luck on your speedy recovery.
  18. May God keep you all safe and out of harms way.
  19. I too need friends. I have a date for surgery Nov 28. After 5 months it is getting close. I have no support in my life. My husband just ignores the subject and the only thing he said was what about me. What am I going to eat? I think he hopes I just don't do it. I have been a recluse for awhile so not many friends left. My sons are around but then again they are sons. I have serious medical issues and that is why I am having the surgery in hopes of getting my life back. Hope you get a date soon and best of luck.
  20. Mine also was a 90 day NUT. When I finished all the tests and everything within that 90 days, then was told I had ro wait another 2 months, Dr was backed up.In 3 more days it will only be one month. Time does fly.
  21. Every time I see one of your posts I see your smiling face and remember how excited you were to get this surgery. I am so sorry for all the pain and agony you had to go through. Now hopefully everything will go well and you will lose the weight and all this will be a distant memory.
  22. Yout post is very hard to read. Try larger type without the black.
  23. I have a vitamix from years ago. It doesnot really juice which is what I bought it for at the time. I since have bought a NINJA also and it is so much easier to use and much easier to clean. It is also 1/5 the cost.
  24. Good luck to you in the rest of your journey. You gave me as much needed laugh when I saw your before and after picture. Very unique idea!!!!!!!!!!
