  1. My boobs are two tube socks hanging down. I ordered a bunch of bras online and none of them fit correctly. Then I went to dillards and got measured and helped by an associate and tried on numerous brands to no avail. None fit correctly. Now I ordered another brand on line that looks like it comes up higher in the back to cover my back fat. Anyone have a suggestion on a brand that will come high enough to cover back fat (loose skin)? Do they make custom bras anywhere? This is a real problem for me. Help!
  2. I am 2 1/2 yrs post op. I had lost 108 lbs. At this point in my journey I have gained back 19 lbs. this has to stop. I have a closet full of clothes that are soooooo tight, it is miserable to get dressed. I started the 48 hour pouch test today to get myself back on track. I hope to loose the 19 lbs by Dec 15. I am telling you all this for encouragement and any suggestions on how to get through this next 48 hours. Thank you in advance.
  3. I am 66 and had surgery 5 weeks ago. I have lost a total of 33 lbs since the beginning of pre-op. Due to pain issues I am not able to exercise as many do. I can walk but it is very cold where I live and it would have to be in the house or the mall. I have gone to the mall numberous times but still can only walk a short distance and then I must sit down. I have only lost 1 lb in the last 2 weeks. It is very discouraging. I can not eat much. I try to drink all that is required but that is very hard also. Protein about 50 a day. I would like to hear from others that are my age and how you are doing. Most people that post are 40 or less and don't have the problems older people have.

    48 hour pouch test

You drink shakes for 2 days and the second day for supper you eat baked chicken. You put 8 ozs on your plate and slowly chew and eat until you feel fullness. This is supposed to reset your ability to feel restriction. I hope this helps me get back on track. Thank you for the encouragement.

    Question!

I had sleeve surgery almost 3 yrs ago. I lost a total of 108 lbs when I evened out. I was satisfied and so happy with my success. I went from a 24-26 clothing to a 14. This was great and I filled my walkin closet with size 14. Now since Jan of this year I started gaining. I am up 19 lbs as of today. Very depressing. My clothes are all tight and I feel miserable. My question is, "Does the sleeve stretch"? I know I have to get back to all Protein again but as everyone knows that was extremely overweight that is easier said then done. Once I let carbs back in at the beginning of this year I crave them so. If it stretched I guess I am out of luck. Looking forward to your info.

    Stress incontinence

Same here. I have 3 children but I'm 68 yrs old. Had the same problem with stress incontenence like you. I no longer have that issue since I lost 90 lbs. I can't remember exactly when it got better, but there is a light at the end of the weight loss, ha ha.

    Surgery Now or Later?

You are lucky you do not have to wait 6-12 months like the majority of us have to wait. I started March 2012 and didn't have surgery till Nov 2012. You sound from your post that you are not really sure you want this surgery. If this is true WAIT. Make sure you are ready Or you may regret your decision. I was sure I wanted this but my family, especially one son, was not. Now 2 and 1/2 yrs later and 90 lbs down they know it was the right decision. Follow your heart.

    Calling All Sixties!

I posted on here 2 yrs ago. Would like to hear from all that were on here before and how you are doing now 2 yrs later. I got to goal in 18 months. I went up and down 3 lbs for a long time. Then I let sugar back in and chips and the bad habits returned. At this point I have gained 18 lbs back. I need to go back to basics. I went from a size 24 down to a 14 and have a walk in closet of clothes that are tight now. Very depressing. I have posted to see how others have done after all this time. I hope better than me.
  9. SUGAR!!!! I am almost 3 yrs out. I lost 108 lbs but I am gaining it back because of the evil dragon. I am up 18 lbs and so disgusted. It is because of sweets. It seems every time I eat I want something sweet after. But one bite of sweet and a little is never enough. I need to do away with it entirely. I wish sugar made me ill. If you find a way let me know.
  10. I am 66 so I am not going thru menopause but I find myself freezing a lot of the time or overly hot the other part of the time, I am on thyroid meds but my endo says all my blood work is fine. Anyone else having these problems?

    GAS!

Help me. I am almost 2 yrs out. For the past 6 months gas has been terrible. Every time I eat or drink anything I have terrible gas and belching. It is quite embarrassing at times. Then out of the blue last week I vomited what looked like coffee grounds. I called my dr the next day and he told me to go to the emergency room. They did blood work and a fecal test and all came back fine. They told me to go to a gastrointestinal dr and have an upper GI because it could be an ulcer. Naturally it takes more than a week to get in. I have an appointment next Monday. Has anyone had this gas issue?
  12. Please, veterans some advice here. I am 2 yrs post op. I made it to my goal of 167 in about 15 months. It was slower than most but I did not exercise due to other issues. I gave myself a 3 lb leeway, 167 -170 . Today I weighed 171 and am really scared. As a lifetime obese person I can only think I will gain it all back. I know I will really try for this not to happen but the fear is still there. I am so thin in my eyes and I enjoy every minute of it. I have loaded my closet with all clothes in my size now, all the rest are gone. Please is anyone else having these thoughts and problems?
  13. Today is the day my husband Bill has the lower left lobe of his lung removed. Cancer! The surgery is at noon. I have been a member of this site for over a year. All you good people have helped me be successful with my weight loss. Please take a few seconds to pray for my Bill. He is 67 and not in the best of health. All our kids and their families came over yesterday and prepared a brunch for all of us and we played cards all day. It was a very nice day.

    Cancer! PRAYERS please

I am doing great. Down to my goal and concentrating on staying here. My husband is doing fantastic. He had a really bad year and in and out of the hospital several times. Now he is finally stabilized and doing more things daily. All the prayers from everyone here really helped. My oldest son, 44 years old, passed away unexpected in Feb. He had one daughter, my only granddaughter. We as a family made it thru this personal tragedy and my husbands illness. We are all on the mend now. Hope your life is continuing to be great.

    60+ sleevers please help

I started this thread almost 20 months ago. I have lost 108 lbs. I am so glad I went thru with this. I went from taking 150 units of insulin a day to NONE. This is the best thing that has happened. I wear a size 14 pants and a L shirt from a 24 1/2. XX. It took me 15months to get to goal. I did not exercise, not able. Had surgery Nov 2012 at age 66 (two days after my birthday). I am still on all other medications but I am glad the insulin is gone. It is such a joy to shop. So many choices in smaller sizes. I wore plus sizes most of my adult life. Looking into plastics for my arms and breasts. Have an appointment. We will see. Thought I would post this just in case any older folks are on the fence about having this surgery. Don't wait, do it. Life is too short to waste not being able to get around. Best of luck to all.
  16. Well, Sat was my 45th anniversary. We had a huge trip planned to Hawaii. Been booked since May. I did it all myself without a travel agent. Researching everything. Then my husband had a Cat scan for a ongoing problem 3 weeks ago. Long story short, lung cancer showed up. In the past 3 weeks we have been to 6 drs appointments. The last was the oncologist. We decided he would be the determining factor in wether we can make this 3 week trip. All he said was if it was him he would not go. 3 days before leaving I spent 3 hours canceling everything. Good news is we think it is Stage II. We have been thru cancer with him in 2005. He had stage IV bladder cancer and the oncologist calls him his miracle man. At that time he got in a study drug and it saved his life. Now they use this drug all the time. To think how lucky he was to have gotten that. So if you or loved one has cancer get into the study groups if offered. Oncologist said so many people pass up these opportunities. Next we see the surgeon to see if it is operable. If it is this is his best chance of survival. See surgeon tomorrow. Sorry I rambled on, just feeling down and teary eyed this morning. Thanks for reading!
  17. If you have, what kind and how was it. Thanks in advance.
  18. Have had problems with depression my whole life. At one time yrs ago went to psychiatrist for awhile and did the regemine of pills. I would get better for a couple months and then they did not work and she would add another pill. Needless to say after 9 months I just weaned myself back off. For the little inprovment the side effects were not worth it. Now 10 months after surgery I am suffering again very bad. I am depressed and very angry about life period. I am a witch to everyone. I need to get back on something so I am asking you all your advice before I go to a dr. I need name of medicines that are working for some of you with few side effects and that won't cause weight gain. Thanks for your help.
  19. It has been a slow go for me but finally a very big milestone. 100 lbs gone. Not able to exercise but still I have been successful. 9 lbs to go to my personal goal. My hubby said he always thought this was the easy way to lose weight but after he saw all I have gone thru he realizes it still takes a lot of work. Best of luck to everyone. You can do it if I can.
  20. Had sleeve surgery 16 months ago. About 5 months ago I got back into occasionally over eating, mainly snak food. This is when I started to throw up. I don't do that anymore but I still get nauseated and must throw up immediately. I am 6 lbs from my goal weight. I got sick on lettuce the other day and threw up. Has anyone else had this issue? I am afraid I will keep losing after I get to goal. How much does everyone eat at this level? I only eat twice a day and I eat very little. I can not eat more times a day because I am so full. Suggestions!
  21. 14 months out. 30-30-30 rule on drinking; vitamins. These are the two I still do faithfully.

    Esophagus pain (I think!)

Why didn't you ask the medical people at the hospital? 1 week post op everything is still swollen. Best of luck.
  23. I am 14 months out. If I eat protein being chicken, beef, pork I get full with 3-4 ounces. If I eat other things I can eat a lot more. It is up to us to continue to eat correctly for the rest of our lives. But no way can I consume anything close to what I ate pre sleeve. You need to call drs office and talk to the nutritionalist.
  24. Hope you had a great birthday Kathy. You are an inspiration to many on this site. We will both live out our golden years healthier and happier than before.

    Heart palpating

You may be low in potassium. Call your surgeons office and inform them what is going on. Blood work may be in order.
