You made it through the surgery part and all the hoops before. You have to be proud of that. Keep that in mind as you get into small struggles along the way. You are doing very well. I hope in 2 months after my surgery I am doing as well. God bless and count very little progress as a giant hurtle because it has been.
  8. You are doing great. Best of luck.
  9. I got my date yesterday, Nov 28, 2 days after my birthday. I also have 2 close relatives birthdays within this 2 week period. Holiday and birthdays will be a lot different. Good luck.
  10. We will all be here to help you in any way we can. I also need all the support I can get. Not much in my personal life.

I am also addicted to food. Food when I am happy and food when I am sad. Any kind of emotion I want food. Especially carbs. I quite smoking after 35 about 12 years ago so why can't I quit eating the wrong foods. You licked smoking and drinking, you are very strong also. It is not easy. I hope together with the help of this group and with prayer we can do it. Best of luck to you and keep in touch.

Here it is the end of month 3. Never thought I would make it this far. Next week I see the surgeon for the 3rd time and he will tell me if I have passed all the tests and can get submitted to insurance. I waited till the last week to do the heart doctor who because of my age and not able to exercise very well wanted a stress test. I did it and passed. I am glad they did not find anything wrong with my heart. I went to the psycologist for quite a few visits and I think I had enough of that. She was very nice but I still don't know why I use food as a comfort. I have been to 4 support group meetings, went to lung doctor and he said I had a touch of asema. My PCD went on to greener fields and I had to get a new PCD. That was not easy for me after many years. I guess I like him as well as any. It is hard to find a good doctor that you can get along with. One week in this 3rd month I had 4 doctor appointments in one week. I changed endo doctors also in month 2. I pray that I am making the right decision to have this surgery. I know the life I have now is not good. I want a better life. I want to be able to be off of insulin and putting holes all over my body. I am tired of testing and taking insulin. I blame myself for getting diabetes but they tell me it is not my fault. I have been overweight almost all of my life, even as a child. As soon as I started kindergarden I ballooned up to obese and was that way until the 8th grade when I starved myself for 4 months and lost 40 lbs so I could get a dress for graduation. I wanted so to look like the other girls. I managed to lose another 20 lbs over the next 4 years and stayed there with 10 lbs up or down. Then I got married to someone who was overweight and immediately started to gain. I also got pregnant and gained back the 60 lbs which I never could lose. Over the rest of my life I gained another 70lbs and because of the insulin and the pain I have to keep me seditary it will probably continue to rise. Well this is my weight story. Sorry if I bored you all, but you all mean so much to me. I read every post and blog. I feel your pain and also get joy from your accomplishments. I think we are like a family here. Too all the ones that are doing this at a young age I say GOOD FOR YOU. It is a good idea to get your life back as soon as possible. I have missed so much over all the years because of weight. Best of luck to everyone. I will let you know what the outcome is with the doctor next month. I hope it is good news.
  13. Everyone is here for you. Just a click away. Do as Apatters said, sound like a plan.
  14. You are doing great. Me as a pre-oper would be sooooooooooooo happy to be under 200 lbs. I haven't seen that in over 40 years. And to be able to exercise and even walk a long way would be a great thing for me. You just keep on doing what you are doing and move move move. You will be just fine.
  15. prayers coming your way as you have asked!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. You still have us here. We care.
  17. You will do just fine. It sounds like you are ready. You will be in my prayers. No need to ever tell anyone if you don't want too. It can be a family secret. Nothing says you have to broadcast it to the world. I am pre=op and a lot older than you and let me tell you we all have all the fears you are having but if you read enough posts here you should see all the people that have so bettered their lives with this surgery. We all have to take it one step at a time. Need to try our very best and use this site as our place to tell our fears, problems, accomplishments to share, and any thing else that comes to mind. Best of luck on your journey.
  18. Best of luck and prayers your way are coming.
  19. What she said LOL. Seriously I also am pre-op and have one more hoop to jump the heart doctor. I feel like I have been on a track crawling along trying to get in all things they want done. Now I am a month away and he says yesterday for the first time mind you "We need you to at least walk everyday (no matter how much pain I am in) and loose 2-4 lbs. or the surgery will be postponed. All these months to hear this. Truthfully I have not lost a lb in 10 years. I just gain that is why I am here. Should I shave my head LOL. Maybe that will be enough weight. I am telling you all this because it is hard and they want it to be hard. This surgery is nothing to be taken lightly But if it wasn't for this site I would have not even gotten this far. The encouraging posts that I read everyday and the all the lives that have been changed daily. That can be us and it will. You are not lazy. Sometimes people think we are lazy because we are depressed and can't function like they do. Someday they will have their turn in some other way. Hope we can forgive what they have said. Best of luck to you and please come and tell all, we can help.
  20. You and I are about the same size. I am twice your age through. I wish there had been a way for me when I was your age. And lucky you a husband that wants to pursue the same avenue. You only have to tell the people you want to tell. It does not have to be on a billboard. Go to different WLS seminars in your area and research/research for the procedure that is right for you and the surgeon with most experience with this procedure. Usually the nutrition is done in the surgeon's group. They handle all the hoops you must go through. Try to go to a Center of Bariatric Excellence. They are certified for bariatric surgery. Read everything you have time for on this site. The people here will help in any way and you learn alot about the sleeve just by reading all the posts. But feel free to ask anyone anything and they are all willing to answer. Best of luck and let us know how things are going.
  21. Wow how does it feel? Tell me I want to know. I look forward to this.
  22. That meter did not work or you did not do it right. I your blood sugar was 2 you would be in a coma. Try again.
  23. I am seeing the psychologist that I went to for the psy eval. I think see is great. I decided to see her twice a month now and we'll see after surgery. She apparently has seem all shapes and sizes and all sorts of food issues.
  24. Everything I've heard and read is that Dr Cirangle is the best in San Francisco. I so wish I was close but I am in Ohio. I don't believe he is that expensive but people say his expertise is worth every penny. He has been doing the sleeve for 10 years or longer, a lot more than most in the eastern US. His success rate is very good so I have read. I called his nurse a few months ago and was willing to travel out there and stay for awhile but my insurance would pay nothing. Something about not living in Ca. Look him up and he also has a video of a sleeve that he did from beginning to end.
