  1. I am 5 weeks out and still eat a few ounces at a sitting. I have been on an acid reducer since before surgery and have noticed some days I have to take Zantac to handle break through acid reflux. I also drink at least one protein drink a day. Good luck!
  2. My NUT said I wouldn't get the complete sensation until I started more solid foods. I would now describe it as a tightness in the chest.
  3. Weight gain is totally normal. I was depressed until someone on the forum encouraged me to really measure myself. My waist alone was 3 inches larger than before surgery. That was an eye opener. I relaxed after that!
  4. I waited until I started soft foods and chew well.
  5. I had pain on the left like that also. My doc said it was muscular. It got better just had to go back on pain meds for a while. Good luck!
  6. Hang in there. I too bad horrible pain and nausea. I had my buyer's remorse lying in the hospital bed. Every day gets better and better. It's worth it. I'm down 22lbs in 4 weeks. It wouldn't have happened if I hadn't had the surgery. Rest. Walk when you can. It's going to get better. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  7. I hope your healing continues to smooth. Thanks for the update. Rest sip and walk!!
  8. Good luck. Remember the first few hours are for recovery. Rest and walk as soon as your body is ready. Check in as soon as you are up to it.
  9. I had the same issue and was told it would go back to normal as I progressed to more solids. My NUT said "liquids in,liquids out." Things are better now. Good luck!
  10. At three weeks I started puree. Call your NUT in the morning and ask her to clarify your phases. Good luck!
  11. Best wishes. Check in when you feel up to it and let us know how you are doing.
  12. Wow you are doing great! Wonderful job
  13. I have experienced the huh look from waitress/waiters too when I don't order a drink. It was so annoying that now I just get water. It was like a major deal that I didn't want a drink.
  14. The cauliflower pizza recipe I used was the one that was given to me in this thread. The link takes you to the recipe girl site. I used the crust with turkey pepperoni. No one would know it was cauliflower unless you told them!
  15. OMG we had the cauliflower pizza tonight with turkey pepperoni tonight. I can't believe how awesome it was. Thanks a million for the recipe!
  16. No I'm sorry I don't but I hope you get an answer. Best wishes!
  17. I was clear liquids first week and did starting my clear proteins like isopure and Bariwise. If you follow any of my posts you will see a lot of Bariwise products.they have been great for me and have been crucial to getting my protein in. Feel free to contact me if you want reviews on what I've tried. I went to full! Liquid week 2. More shakes and stuff.
  18. Wow thanks everyone for the ideas. I showed my husband a picture of the cauliflower pizza. I think we will try that tomorrow and start looking for the flat out. Thank you also for the Ham crust idea. It will be fun experimenting!
  19. I too had bad pain. It was relieved a bit after drain was removed but got bad again soon after. My pain was on the left. About 1 inch to the left of my belly button and 2 inches up. It was muscular according to my surgeon. I didn't have any symptoms of a leak. He had me stay on pain meds longer to help. I would communicate your concerns with your surgeon mine was great about easing my concerns. Best wishes!
  20. Any one have ideas on how to modify pizza? Recipes? Thanks!
  21. I had to sleep in a recliner. We have one of the loveseats that have the double recliners and made it up like a bed. It was comfy! I couldn't sleep in bed until my drain was removed.
  22. I too slept in a recliner. It kept me the most comfortable.
  23. Check with your doctors office because some of the follow up care should be covered under what they call a global period. It is the care right after surgery and should cover your post op visits. Best wishes!
