  1. WOW thanks for sharing your story... Congratulations on your weightloss so far and the will to keep pushing regardless of what comes in your life. I am so proud of you for not letting the diagnosis stop you from living because you have worked very hard the last year to start living again. For the bible says ALL SICKNESS IS NOT UNTO DEATH....always remember that and I love the quote will definitely be using it...

Wish you continued success on your journey...

  2. Nope you are not the only one I am 9 weeks post-op today. I have lost 42 pounds and continue to have stalls but I am still losing major inches all of my clothes are falling off me. I can look at myself naked now and not feel nauseous...(lol). Even tho the scale is moving the inches are falling off.... Don't say only 30 pounds because that is still a major accomplishment. Start working out if you haven't already and continue eating right and the scale will start to move again....

    Wishing you the best

  3. No you are not crazy you are just ready to complete the process!~ I had something much worst happen and after all of the frustration it finally hit me.... EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON! Take this time to just get all things done for the pre-op diet, post op, hospital stay, taking to family members about helping with your little one while you are in the hospital! If you haven't already. I was put off for weeks and when I say weeks it was probably 8 weeks from the time the paperwork was finally submitted til I ended up being approved for the gastric sleeve!!! Believe me in the end all things worked together and I came out with a better surgeon and the sleeve! It will come together don't get discouraged and get ready because it will be hear before you know it!!!! I am not 15 days post-op and doing great....Praying that they get their stuff together for you and just be patient... it is well worth anything you are feeling right now....

    Keep me posted

  4. It is around the corner and you know how it feels to be right at the finish line and something comes to try and stop you from crossing! Nope ain't going to happen you will have the surgery next week and by now I am praying that the PCP has faxed the clearance. I went thru the same thing but worst...I stopped and thought... ANYTHING WORTH HAVING IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR!!! I put my dukes up and kept doing what I needed and now my surgery is the 10th of SEPT! Keep us posted and you can vent anytime

  5. Velena sounds like you are already off to a good start! It is completely normal to be nervous about surgery. It's awesome that you have your husbands support that is criticial during this type of process. My surgery is Sept 10th and I am on day two of my pre-op diet... Looking forward to my new lifestyle and you will be fine. Update us after surgery...

  7. MissV2012,

I can soooooooooooooo relate to your post today. I started my pre-op diet and stopped smoking as well. It is a choice that you have to make just like I am striving to stay on the diet strickly you and I both need to stop smoking. I love the DARIUM clove cigars (BLACK) I feel your pain but I am going to give it my best effort to stop... Noone said it was going to be easy but we can do it!!! Keep in touch and sending you positive vibes and thoughts as I have wanted to hit somebody all day because I want a cigar...

    SMH....

  8. I know a couple of females like your friend. For this very reason I decided not to share with them what I was doing to lose the weight. I am just going to show up healthier and that is all that matters to me. Sorry that you cut ties with your friend but sometimes it is needed. A friend loves you the way you are and does not feel better when they are stepping all over your feelings....

Good luck and I believe you will reach your goal

  9. Dimeekie,

WOW that has to be a wonderful feeling! I am so looking forward to that feeling... I feel like a bottomless pit...the only time I can remember not being hungry is when I was taking appetite suppressants!!! Just to wake up and not be overcome with hunger would be a miracle to me too! Wishing you the best of success on your journey.

  10. Congratulations on getting your date! I got my on Monday and September 10th it is!!!! I am like you so excited and trying to make sure everything is taken care of on the job. I called today and started the process today regarding STD and FMLA. I am covered both ways. Although people say you can go back after a week I am not sure if I will be ready so it is better to be safe than sorry! Wishing you success on your journey and we will have to keep in touch. It has been a long process but I can say definitely worth the wait...

  11. Hello MrsCastello,

You have to do what you feel within your heart is right for you... I know it may sound somewhat taboo but it's true. What is your mind and heart telling you to do? I don't know if you are a spiritual person but if you are pray about the decision you are making and ask for peace because from what I am learning on the forum this is a total lifestyle change. You have to do this for you and strive every day to live a healthier and happier life. Like yourself I have tried on my on and it always comes back to haunt me by gaining all of the weight back. At this point in my life I am tired of being sick and tired...

Sounds like it is time for some soul searching to make sure that the decision you make is the RIGHT ONE FOR YOU.

Best of success on your journey
