  1. I am day 5. Went out last night day 4 and enjoyed several espresso martinis. I couldn't drink anything fizzy as it's difficult to burp already!
  2. I was banded June 20th. Lucky not to have shoulder tip pain but have had a very bloated gassy tummy. Gas settling. Surgical pain still. It gets better each day. Just gonna take it slowly. It's definitely something that you have to asjust to. You have to listen to what your body is telling you. Enjoying free fluids and have plenty stocked up in the fridge. I'm going to go out for dinner this week so I'll order a Soup (liquified) and eat 6 spoons of it and that'll be it! Easy. It's amazing what a different experience we are all having.

  5. I'm being banded on the 20th too!! I'm in Australia. I think it's normal to have some doubts but it's an opportunity to make some positive changes. Good luck
  6. Hello. I'm in Australia. I started the 2 week pre op yesterday, endoscopy tomorrow and surgery on the 20th. It's only been 2 days of shakes but I cam see my face getting thinner. It's an exciting journey!! I'm not anxious about the surgery. I feel blessed to be able to have it. I have told lots of people. I'd rather have it out there. 'I'm having lap band surgery....deal with it!'

It's day 2 of optifast and so far so good....touch wood. Its not as hard as I thought it was going to be but it is only day 2. I think it is much easier to have this done in Australia.....I had my initial appointment in April and here we are June and it's 2 weeks away. All I have to do is a 2 week optifast diet (with selected 'free' veg). No hoops to jump through, no specific weight to lose prior to surgery etc. So I am feeling very lucky.
