  8. I so agree. I had plateaued for about 10 weeks and then starting using MyFitnessPal as well. I of course had slipped into eating a little more than I should and once I started really tracking things and became more aware of what I was eating and how much, I have started loosing about a pound a week again. Keep up with the exercise and mix it up. Be patient and aware of your own actions and the weight will come off.

  13. Thanks so much for posting, I have almost the exact story as you. I also was banded on June 18th, 2012 and until my last fill, I would lose a pound or two, but nothing very quickly. I am now at 5.5cc and things are kindof just clicking into place. I now have very realistic expectations of the portion size I will eat, I find myself not hungry a lot of the time and have now lost 31 lbs and am feeling so much better physically. I still have a ways to go, wanting to lose 60 more pounds, but now I feel it is doable.
  14. Good luck to you guys. I also have Aetna, and they paid 100% with no problems back in June.
  15. You guys are going to do great! I was banded 6/18 and super nervous, and everything has been so easy. Best of luck.
  16. Where are you located? Wylie, outside of the DFW area When did/do you get your band? June 18th What do you like/look forward to do(ing) for exercise? running and playing soccer with my son What's your fave thing to eat? Mexcian and Chinese, but being good, I have learned I love almost all seafood and chicken Fave music groups/artists/types? Country here, but we listen to almost anything What are you looking forward to? Feeling good, not tired, but ready to embrace life. After losing a little over 20lbs, I am already feeling much more energetic.
  17. I'm a relatively newbie, but I have now had 3 fills and it's been almost 3 months since surgery. I too love to eat, and I won't lie, there are times I really want something. But guess what, I find I eat a small portion, maybe even a bite, and I am done with that craving. My weakness is chocolate. I eat a hershey nugget maybe twice a week, and I don't feel deprived. There are things like pizza, pasta and stuff that I don't find I even want anymore. I am at a really good place right now, in fact, my surgeon is afraid I may be losing too quickly. My husband was banded 3 1/2 years ago, and right now, we are loving going out to eat. We order one entree, and sometimes bring food home. It is a tool, and a life style change. It's not a miracle. I can say though so far, it has been a much easier adjustment on my part than I had anticipated. Again, I am a newbie, but I have seen my husband suceed.
  18. What a great post! Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your success!

  20. Emily, I'm glad you found this site. I'm afraid I can't offer any advice or comments, because I haven't been banded quite 3 months yet and haven't really had any issues. The people on this site are great though and I am sure that you will recieve lots of helpful tips and support.
  21. Sounds like everyone is doing great. I was banded 6/18 and although I lost about 7 pounds on the pre-surgery diet, I didn't hardly lose anything after surgery and only about 3 pounds after my first fill. After my second fill things have been going great. I lost a little over 6 pounds after that and last friday I got my 3rd fill. I am about 5cc in a 10cc band and I am not feeling hungry at all. I keep finding myself eating too much but am learning to eat much slower and the minute I think I have had enough, put down the fork. I haven't had any bad episodes and as long as I chew really well, can "take a small taste" of almost anything. I have just chosen to not eat the breads, potatoes, rice, etc... and to concentrate on proteins and veggies. I am really excited about this whole experience. Everyone keep up the good work!
  22. Had my surgery yesterday and also had a hernia repaired. I had some pretty bad back pain last night, I'm guessing from the gas, but today I feel really good. I'm so glad my road to becoming more healthy has begun.
  23. I'm the 18th as well. Just the weekend left and I've got lots of plans to keep me busy so Monday will get here really quick. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. Good luck to all of the rest of the June bandsters being banded in the upcoming weeks!
  24. From what I see, your title is "LBT Addict".
  25. Congrats!!!!! Isn't that the best feeling.
