    back on the losing track!

I so agree. I had plateaued for about 10 weeks and then starting using MyFitnessPal as well. I of course had slipped into eating a little more than I should and once I started really tracking things and became more aware of what I was eating and how much, I have started loosing about a pound a week again. Keep up with the exercise and mix it up. Be patient and aware of your own actions and the weight will come off.

I would definitely do it again. I am not at goal yet, but already my quality of life has improved so much.

At First I Regretted It, Now I'm In The Sweet Spot!

Thanks so much for posting, I have almost the exact story as you. I also was banded on June 18th, 2012 and until my last fill, I would lose a pound or two, but nothing very quickly. I am now at 5.5cc and things are kindof just clicking into place. I now have very realistic expectations of the portion size I will eat, I find myself not hungry a lot of the time and have now lost 31 lbs and am feeling so much better physically. I still have a ways to go, wanting to lose 60 more pounds, but now I feel it is doable.

Mexcian and Chinese, but being good, I have learned I love almost all seafood and chicken Fave music groups/artists/types? Country here, but we listen to almost anything What are you looking forward to? Feeling good, not tired, but ready to embrace life. After losing a little over 20lbs, I am already feeling much more energetic.
  7. I'm a relatively newbie, but I have now had 3 fills and it's been almost 3 months since surgery. I too love to eat, and I won't lie, there are times I really want something. But guess what, I find I eat a small portion, maybe even a bite, and I am done with that craving. My weakness is chocolate. I eat a hershey nugget maybe twice a week, and I don't feel deprived. There are things like pizza, pasta and stuff that I don't find I even want anymore. I am at a really good place right now, in fact, my surgeon is afraid I may be losing too quickly. My husband was banded 3 1/2 years ago, and right now, we are loving going out to eat. We order one entree, and sometimes bring food home. It is a tool, and a life style change. It's not a miracle. I can say though so far, it has been a much easier adjustment on my part than I had anticipated. Again, I am a newbie, but I have seen my husband suceed.

    Struggling

Emily, I'm glad you found this site. I'm afraid I can't offer any advice or comments, because I haven't been banded quite 3 months yet and haven't really had any issues. The people on this site are great though and I am sure that you will recieve lots of helpful tips and support.

How (And Where) Are The June Bandsters?

Sounds like everyone is doing great. I was banded 6/18 and although I lost about 7 pounds on the pre-surgery diet, I didn't hardly lose anything after surgery and only about 3 pounds after my first fill. After my second fill things have been going great. I lost a little over 6 pounds after that and last friday I got my 3rd fill. I am about 5cc in a 10cc band and I am not feeling hungry at all. I keep finding myself eating too much but am learning to eat much slower and the minute I think I have had enough, put down the fork. I haven't had any bad episodes and as long as I chew really well, can "take a small taste" of almost anything. I have just chosen to not eat the breads, potatoes, rice, etc... and to concentrate on proteins and veggies. I am really excited about this whole experience. Everyone keep up the good work!
  11. Had my surgery yesterday and also had a hernia repaired. I had some pretty bad back pain last night, I'm guessing from the gas, but today I feel really good. I'm so glad my road to becoming more healthy has begun.

I'm the 18th as well. Just the weekend left and I've got lots of plans to keep me busy so Monday will get here really quick. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. Good luck to all of the rest of the June bandsters being banded in the upcoming weeks!

    Coffee

I had my pre-op on May 29th, and asked about coffee and caffiene and was told I could drink it both pre-op and post-op. Of course, as with everything, in moderation.
  19. I am being banded on the 18th at 12pm. My husband is taking me, but he has a really important meeting the next day so he will not be able to stay home with me the day after. When the surgery center called me with my date and time, she said I needed someone to drive me home, but also to stay with me for the next 48 hours. My son is almost 13 and has actually offered to stay home that day. Do you guys think that would be okay? Do I just need someone around that could call for help? Please let me know what you think.

Told A Two Friends At Work

Wow, my experience has been wonderful so far. I'm not banded yet, but once I knew I had ins approval and a date scheduled, I told everyone that I work closely with. That means that more than likely, my whole office knows. I have gotten bunches of supportive emails and while I'm on my pre-op diet, they are even trying to not schedule meetings that go through lunch so I don't have to see all of the catered stuff. Of course, I am extremely lucky to work for a company of about 80+ employees and we still manage to have a "family" type atmosphere.

    Day After Surgery Question?

Thanks you guys, and yes I have several friends who would gladly stay with me while me husband is at work. I just hated to ask if I am going to be resting most of the time. But I will get someone to come over during the day.

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

I am Wylie, having my surgery the 18th by Dr Fox as well.
  24. My husband's experience has been really good. He lost approximately 125lbs. He could lose about 25 more, but to be honest, he doesn't eat a lot, but he has fallen into not making smart choices. So, he hasn't gained any weight, but he hasn't lost that last 25 either. He has promised me that once I am banded, he will support me by eating what I eat and together we will make smart choices. One other issue that my husband has had is he has a bad back. His bulging disks have gotten much better, and his energy levels are way up, but he does still have knee issues (from football 35+ years ago) that don't allow him to exercise like he would like. He hasn't had a fill in over a year and is extremely happy where he is. I am hoping for that type of success as well.
