  1. They are pretty. I bought just a plain abdominal binder from Wally World for under $20.
  2. Wow!!! Thank you girls for the wonderful ideas. I will have to buy me some pantyhose; haven't worn them for years.
  3. I don't even know what that is or what it's for.
  4. Lots of times. I have 2 pairs of shoes (navy & black) of the same style. One day I wore one of each. The girls at work laughed and reminded me I have a pair just like it at home.
  5. I think I will grab a box of tissues and commiserate with you. Good thing I am not an emotional eater; I eat when bored.
  6. Maybe I didn't explain this right. They are now only sending the request for the surgery. I did complete my 6 classes consecutively. I wasn't told that you request first, then complete jumping through the hoops.
  7. I went to the information meeting in November. Had all requests and letters by December 1. Started my nutrition classes in Jan ( because they made my appt with the wrong person in December); completed the 6 months by the end of June. Had my psych evaluation in May. Now the office is telling me I had to have the nutrition classes within 6 months of the surgery request. WTH? Does this make sense? They were not going to request the surgery before I completed the nutrition classes. Am I supposed to complete those classes again and re-do the psych eval. I don't have a money tree to pick to do all of this again.
  8. I would think so. You aren't really losing anything but the "water" from the plain yogurt.
  9. I just bought my Ninja on Thursday and I love it!
  10. because I could not walk on an incline, they did a "medical" stress test - injected me with a needle.
  11. I had the option to meet with the nut or my pcp. I chose the nut.I learned alot at the nut meetings that I would not have otherwise known if I met with my PCP.
  12. I went for my bi-annual ob/gyn physical. I had a hysterectomy when I was 33 and cannot understand why I have to see a gynecologist at all. She was totally against wls and her reasons were hysterical. I had to bite my lip to not laugh in her face. When she was done, I quietly said, I am glad you don't need to do anything to be healthy. I need help and it doesn't concern you, so butt out.
  13. I was told 3 times already ( in the past ) that my EKG was "weird". I went to a cardiologist after these 3 EKGs and his tests came back the same each time ; some heart damage from years of untreated high bp, but I am ok and my stress test was fine. I am not looking forward to having an EKG done before my surgery, but it is a small price to pay to get help losing weight.
  14. I had to do the nutritionist thing every month for 6 months, they have now dropped it to 3 months; had the psych evaluation; got a letter of necessity from my PCP; got a call last week that they wanted my PCP letter amended and said something about the 6 months of nutrition meetings and it was all messed up. I had made an appt for Dec. 23, when I got there they didn't make it with the nutritionist...so, I had to re-schedule for Jan 9 and had been going every month right through June. I don't drive so hubby took the Dec. day off for nothing. I really hope nothing is now messed up; haven't heard it it was submitted yet or anything else I will have to do - chest x-ray, etc. The waiting and not knowing is the angst.
  15. My costco sells the Premier ( and not EAS ) and My Sam's sells the EAS ( and not the Premier ). I just tried this Protein powder you add to water: Protein 2 Go. It is kinda sweet but it is clear.
  16. The office doing my urine test gave me this plastic thing that you slip under the toilet seat; then you pour that into the gallon container.
  17. I was told that maltodextrine is sugar and that is a no-no.
  18. I love honey mustard dressing. Since, we actually use so little, the nut said she wouldn't deprive me of my fave.
  19. I have been eating the foods I don't think I can have after the sleeve. But, I have been measuring them and freezing the rest, in case I might miss them again before the pre-diet for the surgery.
  20. I was out I have a serious gagging problem, so they wanted me totally out.
  21. With alot of financial problems last month, I thought for sure I would not be able to have my surgery until after thanksgiving. Well, last night my older car ( which has been for sale for a month ) finally sold for the asking price - the buyer took it to a mechanic before buying and was told the car was too good to not buy. Now, I have the co-pay for the doctor and hospital. Just waiting for the ins approval. Thank You, Jesus! in His timing - I have to keep reminding myself.
  22. My nut said yes; it's mostly water anyway.
  23. Teriyaki Turkey Burgers 4 turkey burgers ( you could make your own, but I'm lazy). 1 tsp. sesame oil 4 pineapple slices 1 tbs. pineapple juice from the slices . 1 Tbs no msg, low sodium teriyaki sauce/glaze I put the oil in my electric fryer and distributed it with a pastry brush. Fried the burgers 7 minutes on each side. Mix the juice and teriyaki sauce. For the second side of the burger, I brushed the burger with the teriyaki/pineapple sauce mixture. Brushed the pineapple slices with the mixture and broiled for 2 minutes. Add pineapples to the burgers. Makes 4, but I only ate 1/2 ( I am pre-op) My finicky family loved them.
  24. I had my sleep apnea test done twice. The first time I had a full blown panic attack and ripped off the mask. The second time, they used nasal pillows and I was fine. Though, I only got about 3 hrs sleep the second time around - no sleep the first time. I think the wires and putty type glue was the worst part.
