Today was my last nutrition appt..they sent everything to BC/BS ....now i wait..im super nervousr because my BMI is only 37...but i have hiatal hernia' date=' GERD and sleep apnea..wish me luck![/quote']

I was in the same situation and BCBS approved me. Good luck!

It only took 4 days for bcbs to approve me! But I am 40 bmi with HTN

At my first appt., I told the nurse I was 2 inches shorter than I actually am to help inflate my BMI a bit. The things we do, huh? <_<

Hey you 35 to 40 BMI folks that got approved, did you have other issues that helped? I am 36 bmi and have high blood pressure, has been as high as 150/100. more typical is 140 over 90. I did the initial consult and it read 130/70 :( I bet it is that I quit smoking. Also have not taken the meds in a few years. I discuss psyc eval with nurse on 23rd then can be reviewed for approval (i hope!) hope normal blood presure didn't blow it.

If you are diagnosed HTN you shouldn't have a problem...130 is a little high but not considered HTN.

I was low bmi with only high blood pressure. It's been documented for years. I was worried, too but no problems with the insurance at all.

Oh good..u two gave made me feel relieved...ill keep u posted...thanks!

Keep us posted, good luck!!

BMI 36 and HTN. 200lbs 5 feet 2in.Was approved with no problem.

My Bmi is 37.5 and I just got blood work back, my doctor said it looked dreamy...ugh!!!!!!!.....everything was perfect, I am soooo frustrated...now my only chance is the sleep apnea test...I really truly have a tough time sleeping but I have no idea how this will go....if anyone could give me a bit of invite, I would be oh so grateful....I go in next week for the test...I sooo need this..I have empire bcbs as well....thanks

I had my sleep apnea test done twice. The first time I had a full blown panic attack and ripped off the mask. The second time, they used nasal pillows and I was fine. Though, I only got about 3 hrs sleep the second time around - no sleep the first time.

I think the wires and putty type glue was the worst part.
