  1. They say all's well that ends well. At the beginning, I could not see that. But at 4 months out, I've lost 71 pounds since surgery. All totaled 101 lbs. I've gone from size 24 pants and 3X top to size 12/14 pants and a size medium top; size 48DDD bra to a 36 C. It was worth losing more than half the "twins", my butt, and some of my hair. Such a small price to pay. So, hang in there, newbies. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
  2. I wanted to be 199 ( Onderland ) by Dec. 25...today is Dec. 23 and I am 198. What a wonderful Winter Onderland ! Nearly 10 weeks out and I've lost ( since surgery ) 40 pounds. Can you tell I am excited?
  3. Congratulations! Onderful feeling, right?
  4. LOL! I thought it meant bad bowel movements. Silly me
  5. I am also cold, but it is way better than power surges (hot flashes).
  6. yes, I took mine to the hospital and used them.
  7. I only had a problem drinking for a few days. The eating part is still small amounts. I also thought if I could drink so much, I'd be able to eat just a tad more than I am getting. My stomach growls too and I just drink more.
  8. Imjustme, I am sorry that you are so discouraged. My doctor said some people lose weight first, then inches; that men usually lose the weight first.. I lost inches and not really much weight itself. Today is my 2 month "surgiversary" and I've only lost 35.6 pounds since the surgery. I have a lot of big clothes, though I did have to donate some big pants and tops. I am getting gift certificates for Christmas, so I will go clothes shopping then.
  9. BJ's. Costco and Sam's all have these wonderful chicken patties. I don't remember the protein count, but it was between 15 and 20, for the half I could eat.
  10. The NSV's are the best. I am 7 weeks out and have lost 31 pounds, post op. But, I went from a 2-3x shirt to a loose(not falling off) x large. My pants (that have remained after disposing too big's) are still bigger than I'd like. Pants went from a 24 to a 20 (maybe 18, if I have an elastic waist).
  11. what is an Ultimate body applicator?
  12. I was told some meds do slow a weight loss. My bp meds don't exactly help the weight loss, so I am sooooo looking forward to being off them.
  13. When I drink things that are cold (like the protein shakes) I feel queasy. Room temp and warm do not give me problems.
  14. I was on my left side from day 3 on. I had to use body pillows to keep me from turning onto my right side. That was until 3 weeks out, when right side sleeping didn't hurt anymore.
  15. I have not found an unflavored I could tolerate. I found that unflavored is not tasteless. I made it with milk and LOTS of fruit. I can't wait until I do not need protein drinks anymore to reach the 80 grams of protein I need daily.
  16. It was slow going for me with the solids. My surgeon said no liquor for a year. Since I don't drink, I didn't care. It seems like I have more Protein from shakes than from the solids. I just can't handle more than 1 1/2 oz. of meat per meal. I try, but it's a no go.
  17. I never had the loose movements, but I still battle constipation. Miralax has become my best friend. The fiber wasn't working and the Milk of Magnesia would not stay down. I am hoping this all straightens out soon. I am 7 weeks out.
  18. I am also 7 weeks out, but have only lost 21 pounds, so far. It'll come off; I am not going to go scale crazy. What I lose, I didn't gain. I am being good, but it is hard with the half hour after liquids, solids, 1 hour til liquids again. It takes all day to get the Protein in and I usually get 64 ounces of Water in; trying to get up to 80 oz. I used to drink a gallon of water (128 oz) before surgery.
  19. I am 7 weeks out and I have the eating issues, same as you. I don't weight myself but every 2 weeks, so I don't know if the weight is fluctuating. I make sure I drink the Protein shakes when I am not doing solids. I am losing slowly, but the inches are really coming off. I went from a 3X blouse to a XL. I don't even know my pants size; I hang out in yoga pants and they are getting loose.
  20. Thank you all, so much. I went with the Benadryl, Vicks nose spray and lots of gargling with antiseptic mouth wash. Feel better than I have for those 3 days.
  21. Scoot over on that cloud. I am going to CFA tomorrow. I actually had egg drop soup ( I never had it before; always wonton) and it was great!
  22. My nut said to try and see what happens. I started with those stirrer/straws and now use regular straws - still sipping though and no problems.
