  1. I get it coming "out both ends" when I have anything with aspertame in it. No problems with Sucralose ( splenda) yet.
  2. The quote from my surgeon's office for self-pay was $17,905., all inclusive.
  3. You could always "can" them yourself. They sell small canning jars.
  4. 4C is made with sucralose (splenda) as are the fruit flavored waters and Powerade SF. But, splenda is sweet too. I just decrease the amount I use.
  5. Caffeine can dehydrate you.
  6. decaf? black? warm, not hot?
  7. it is removed with both, but more so with the sleeve - at least that is what my nut said.
  8. I have both kidneys, but am stage 3 kidney disease. At my last visit to the nephrologist, he said 60-80 g of Protein was ok, but to watch my Calcium. I was eating yogurt 3 times a day because the nut said it was in place of milk, but with the calcium pills, the calcium test was too high. He made me get off the yogurt until I see him in August. I probably won't be having my surgery until September, so we see what happens.
  9. same as above and - would like to live to see my grandchildren ( whenever my girls get married and decide).
  10. I didn't know they made spanx in plus sizes either. I am going to give them a try;sweaty Florida or not. I hate the jiggles.
  11. joyful noise posted a topic in The Gals' Room
I watching a video on you tube and the girl said she was gassy for weeks and hated to go out of the house. Is this true? How can you go back to work? She also said "Never trust a fart" gross I know, but is that also true?
  12. I was in an auto accident in '03; and still have problems with my shoulders and neck. My back - well excess weight doesn't help. I have been walking for 20 minutes a day; Richard Simmons for about 10 mins til I want to die; watched Jane Fonda (Yeah, just watched - watching makes me tired). I have been trying one pound weights and, frankly, it hurts. But I am not going to give up. I may never be as active as I was pre-accident, but I sure am going to give it a try.
  13. thank you! I didn't want to have to carry my baby sippie cup around with me forever I don't think I know how to sip without it.
  14. I know we have to sip liquids. Do we ever get to drink small amounts and not sip all the time?
  15. I read the article and it mentions nutritional deficiencies. I'm just gonna keep taking my vitamins and supplements.
  16. One of my daughters "slipped" and told a neighbor about me having the surgery. I got the usual comments and then...I'd NEVER do that. I replied that condemnation never did anyone any good. When she got hostile I said : "when i was first married, I made a sampler that was an old Indian Proverb - Let me not criticize my neighbor until I have walked a mile in her moccasins". She backed off real quick! I am not ashamed of my decision. But I refuse to let anyone else's hangups affect that decision.
  17. My surgeon's office gave us a "Model" letter for our PCP to use. He ( I think it might be a language barrier thing) wrote on my letter gastric bypass. I have my physical due this month. I have photocopied his letter, making the changes for the sleeve. Since my last nut meeting is this month, I want everything in order, pcp letter, too.
  18. I have Richard Simmons and last week a neighbor, transferred my vhs of Jane Fonda workouts to dvd's for me.
  19. I have been on just about every diet there is. My husband has been there all through all of that. I took him to dinner and said I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I went to an info session, taking him with me. He is my support along with my 2 adult daughters. Talk to him, hon.
  20. I woke up during my hysterectomy and announced that I was going to be sick. Went back to "sleep" and don't remember anything else. Later, the surgeon told me it was funny.
  21. People are going to believe what they want anyway. Let them stew in their own ignorance. There is nothing easy about the surgery, easy was regaining my weight and more over and over and over...
  22. My nut also told me no carbonation for life.
  23. Congratulations! You are on your way.
