same as above and

- would like to live to see my grandchildren ( whenever my girls get married and decide).

I am already sleeved, and here were some of my reasons

- at 19 I was already pre-diabetic

- at 19 I had already done every diet out there

- I knew that I wanted children in the future, fat mommas aren't always able to have children

- I wanted to take back control of my life

- I needed help, the sleeve is a lifelong tool to help me on my lifelong journey

As for why NOW

- I am out of school due to financial reasons, so I have way too much time on my hands (especially with the job crisis, almost impossible to find anything) and figured "why not take care of me for once"

- My insurance covered most of it

- why wait?? I didn't want to wait until I had full blown diabetes or other problems. I didn't want to wait until I was in my 30's, 40's, etc.

Best decision I EVER made!

I agree with the above. Isn't it nice to have a solution! I am 38 and I want to live and be healthier. I want my weight to not get in my way with all the things I want to do in this life! Enough is enough! Right?

Pretty much the same as above, Fought my weight all my life, was thin for maybe 15 years then right back up and down and up and now that I have hit menopause I am just up and up and up. Plus in the last few years I started my own business and work such funky hours that I know I eat at bad times and I also eat bad things but without this I have no more self control. Most days I work from home and I sit in my jammies - no motivation to get dessed and put maekup on. Before I moved to Arizona 6 years ago I dressed to the 9's every single day, heels and a designer dress of some kind. Now anyone that sees me on my bike in my profile sees how I am usually dressed. I want to look good one last time during my old age lol Unlike what I have seen others talk about I have told people and if someone doesn't like it then OH WELL, not my problem and not their body to worry about. June 28th can't come fast enough

So many reasons come to mind.

1. My #1 reason is the little girl in my profile pic. My daughter. I can't run around or sit on the floor and play with her. I can't fit in the playground equipment with her but my husband can. I feel very left out of my own child's life. :( She is also the same age in relation to me as I was to my father and I DO NOT want my daughter to have to go through what I did at the ages I did. My father had his first heart attack at 37. I was 7, my sister was 1) And it was a downhill run after that. No way do I want that to happen. I also don't want to be the "fat mom". I don't want my daughter to suffer because of me.

2. I've been overweight/obese since elementary school. I have pretty much been on a "diet" since I was 10. Obviously, nothing has worked.

3. I have been on cholesterol meds due to high cholesterol for 4 years. I'm only 33.

4. I want to be healthy. I want to show my daughter how to be healthy. I don't want her in the same boat I am.

5. I'm tired of being heavy. I have hit my highest weight at this point and I don't want to go higher.

6. I love roller coasters. I don't fit anymore. My turning point was actually when I had to do the "walk of shame" on one. Humiliating.

NO more! I am taking back control of my weight, my body, my life. I am going to rock this sleeve!

yay lehg. thats right we are taking our lives back

Even before I gained all the weight back I still changed my lifestyle when I moved here. The first week I was here I was all dressed up and went to the apartment managers office at the place I rented for the first year and she told me within a year I would be dressed like her (flip flops and capris) and I thought NAH! she told me I now lived in the Land of the Frump lol I have 400 pairs of high heels I haven't touched in years. The life as a biker is totally different than my old country club life. Most of the time I LOVE it but I still want the option. Though when I do dress up and don't have a bandana on some of my friends can seriously walk right past me til I say HEY it's me lol Happened a ton of times.
