  2. Hi! I'm looking to start a group with sleevers from the Birmingham area. I would love to meet for dinner, bowling, and other activities a couple times a month and discuss issues that are close to us. After all, only another sleever can truly understand this journey. Who's in?

  6. Hi, I had a potassium deficiency. My primary care doctor put me on potassium tablets (they're huge), and the symptoms dissipated within 3 or 4 days. I hope this helps.
  7. I am 3 weeks post op and recently I've been experiencing tingling in my extremities. I researched online and found that this can be caused by a B12 deficiency. I went to see my surgeon yesterday for my post op appointment, and he gave me a B12 shot. He said that it would probably go away. I didn't feel any tinkling this morning, but it started back around 3pm today. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, please advise. I am really worried about this. Thanks!
  8. If my husband wasn't here with me, I don't know what I would have done. I have a low pain threshold though. Also, my pain meds make me VERY sleepy, so if I had little ones I couldn't watch them. I would say that you will need someone for at least 3 days post op if you have a med to high pain threshold. I'll be praying for you and your husband.
  9. Because I still feel like it's day 1. I need some encouragement.
  10. Thanks, guys. I'm also having a lot of pain. When does it finally go away? And, what is the most comfortable way to sleep? I haven't been able to find a comfortable position yet.
  11. I was sleeved yesterday, and I was just discharged this morning. I haven't been able to tolerate much liquid. How am I supposed to get in 64 oz of protein?

  13. I'm laying here thinking about the surgery. I have to be at the hospital at 7:00, and I just want everything to go okay. I've lost 16 pounds on the preop diet, so I'm hoping my liver is okay. Please pray for me. The surgery actually starts at 9:00.

  15. I, too, am scared. My surgery is this Friday.
  16. My surgery is May 25th. I'm on day 4 of 14 of the pre-op diet. I am required to consume 4 nutritional supplements daily (protein-enriched shakes, soups, or bars). I can also have 4 oz of protein a day and any green vegetable except peas. I've been doing a shake for breakfast and lunch, a bar as a snack, and soup for dinner with 4 oz of chicken. So far, it's going well and I've lost 7 pounds! I hope I can make it 10 more days. I'm tired the cream of chicken soup already
  17. Oh, I have to do it for 14 days. 10 more to go!
  18. I think I'm doing a Ketosis diet even though my doctor hasn't called it that. I can have 4 oz of protein and green vegetables (except peas). I am required to consume 4 nutritional supplements (protein-enriched bars, soups, and shakes) daily. I am on day 4, and I've lost 7 pounds. My surgery is May 25th.
  19. Hello, all. My surgery date is May 25th. I'm in the Birmingham, AL area. My doctor is Dr. Touliatos @ Trinity. I'm so excited and worried. I will be starting my pre-op diet on May 11th.
