  1. I live about 30 min from Galveston and there is some fabulous seafood there that you can eat and not feel guilty! Just remember everything grilled! Stay away from bread and sugar! Order any fish, shrimp, crab, etc with veggies Try to ask for no butter or salt when you can Use my fitness pal or lookup calories on the restaurants website.
  2. I also have been struggling i was banded in March abd lost only 21lbs, but I have been eating not the best choices, even though it is less. I am committed to make this work. Please join myfitnesspal log in your food. We do have to count calories and the protein. My dr says 1200-1500 cal per day and 75-85g protein a day. The protein is EXTREMELY important for weight loss, so we have to get that in! Also my dr said to lose a pound a week we have to burn 3500 Calories. The exercise for me is easy, I still struggle with food. But I'm committing myself to hold myself accountable with myfitnesspal. If you want to add me as a friend, my user is loneil0.
  3. Wow I just read your story and unfortunately I have not had any nausea or vomiting but I'm fairly new at this. I got banded in March and I'm up to 5cc in a 10cc band right now. What I would be scared for you is that you are almost making yourself have a different eating disorder. Your body will get used to just throwing up right after you eat. Which of course is unhealthy and also will keep causing your slippage issues. I can't believe you threw up in half a cup of pudding!!!?? Something is definitely wrong. I understand when you say "you like the bad food" I think we all do! So if I was you I would def keep the band. Get it fixed, and make sure you are not throwing up anymore. You just gotta give yourself NO OPTION. You can do it!
  4. Thanks for all the comments! I had my last fill on Tuesday and I'm up to 5cc in a 10cc band. I definitely feel a difference this time. ( I think!) since this post I have not been eating and drinking and will continue on this road. It is very hard, but I know I will have to do it to be successful. All of your comments have helped and encouraged me so much! Thank you!!!!
  5. Unfortunately this has been the hardest thing for me after surgery. I have been cheating by doing this. But why can't you do it? I've had no issues with it. Is it messing up my weight loss success?
  6. I know I need to follow dr's orders. I was doing so well until this happened. I have to get it back togther! Does anyone know why you can't eat and drink at the same time? Thank you for all your feedback and kind words. I feel a ton of support through this site.
  7. My biggest problem after surgery is I do the big no no of eating and drinking together. I don't do it all the time, but last night I was out with friends and I did. I had a fruity mixed drink and I barely ate anything because my stomach started hurting so bad. Can eating and drinking together cause this? Or did I just get food stuck? I just found out I'm being demoted at work, and they are transferring me to an hr away location. I have been completely bummed the last three days and totally off the program. I'm now getting worried I'm messing things up. I have anxiety bad too, and I have been having a nervous stomach going through all this stress. I woke up twice in the middle of the night my stomach still in pain! But when I woke this morning it's finally gone. Sorry for the novel here, just really need some help! Thank you:)
  8. No worries I just didn't want anyone to think I was drinking 3 days post op! I was on pain meds then! I don't know how anyone could!
  9. I am the one that asked the initial question and I was 4 weeks post op when I hosted the bridal shower. I had 2 glasses of wine that night, had lots of fun, and no issues! No weight gain or stomach issues. I only drink socially with my girlfriends once a month. If I thought I had to give that up to lose weight that would be nuts!
  10. I have my first fill on Tuesday. I was doing really well with the band until the last week I feel like I can eat anything! And am getting hungry again:( I'm trying hard to just control it bit I'm not eating as little as I was right after surgery. I asked my dr on my post op appt, how much was in the band and he said he barely leaves any on there. I'm hoping this fill helps! I don't feel restriction anymore. Don't know if it's because the swelling is gone or because I've lost weight. Any thoughts?
  11. Yeah mine was but I was self pay. They put me on 2 week preop diet then had the surgery!
  12. Don't want to sound like I'm an alcOholic or anything, but at times I enjoy a glass of red wine. I'm 2 weeks post op, have a bridal shower I'm hosting on April 1st and was wondering of its ok to drink? I totally forgot to ask the doctor. And if so has anyone had any issues with drinking? I know it's empty calories...
  13. If its forming a new scab it's fine. Just keep cleaning it. I just bought antibacterial shower gel and have been using that in the shower on them. The only thing I'm putting on them during the day is aloe vera gel and that has been good with the healing. I'm going to ask the dr fri if there is anything else I need to use, and when I can start using scar medicine. Someone told me to use vitamin e caps, that they work well on scars.
  14. The "break-up" with my best friend food is rough! But I can honestly tell you I feel free now. I do not feel like I am thinking about food all the time like before. I don't have to question what should I eat, I feel guilty for eating this, am I eating too much? I just feel like it is part of a routine. I was just banded in the 7th, so it's only been 2 weeks, but for me my mind feels a big relief. The preop diet was harder than after you are banded it is easier to eat less. Hope this helps:)
  15. Thanks Steph! I appreciate it!
  16. Never get them and I've had 2 since the surgery! I know there is certain ones we can't take. What can I take, only Tylenol?
  17. Is it like an open wound? Or do you mean it's red around the incision? If its just like an open wound due to the scab coming off, go buy some steri strips to close ur back up. ( or like butterfly bandage closures) you don't want it to get infected!!!
  18. I had my surgery on the 7th and had it to. It went away after a week. I think it was something from the surgery( anthesia, or something?)
  19. I'm on BC and dr said it was fine. Never stopped taking them.
  20. I am only 2 weeks post op, I just switched to mushies last Friday. I felt restriction until the switch. I think I had swelling and it was helping me not be hungry. (I guess?) now that I am recovered and back to work its the same old story. Im hungry all the time:( I have increased my food a little but not to the point of what I was eating before. I am definitely having to use willpower. I only feel the pouch is full for like 30 min after I eat, then it's back to being hungry. Is this because of eating mushies? Don't give up girl, it is hard but we can do it!! I have heard it takes several fills before you are in that green zone.
  21. I have anxiety too ( panic attacks at times) the best thing for me was to literally not think about it at all until it came. I just dove into work. I had the dr make me the first surgery (6am) so I was do sleepy it was just like going back to sleep. Just remember its a day surgery and if you having a surgery it's one of the safest ones to have. You will do just fine, and good luck!
