First Fill And No Restriction

Had my first fill this week and feel NOTHING! Should I ask to come back in two weeks or wait the scheduled four weeks?

no that is normal, you want to get your restrictions gradual. Thats how I started, didnt really start to fill it until 4 or 5cc, I dont remember. You will fill it eventualy. Good luck

i had the same issue. first fill was march 22 felt no difference. thought it was a joke.. hahahha but i wasn't laughing. called my doc, got a 15 minute lecture on how to eat with the band..things i already knew... ok so the bottom line on these "fills" are , the first ones usually are relatively meaningless...some people claim to have some restriction others say they have none. I personally have none If i chose to i could eat the legs off the table and swallow them, no problem... HOweVer....that all said.... I have made another fill appointment for 8 weeks from the first fill...in between.. it my intention to "pretend" I have restriction, and eat as if I did... now that may sound ridiculous.. but I don't see that there is any other way to proceed. My doctor is not going to fill me any more at this time, so what are my alternatives??? I could eat like a pig and gain the 25 pounds i've already lost back... or between now and the 8th week I can lose 1 to 2 pounds a week.... and show up 8-16 pounds nearer my goal.. I think the answer is pretty clear.. cause there is only one road to lapbandville.. and there are no roads back. good luck

it might take you several fills to get restriction and also sometimes there is a delay about a week or so before you can tell you even had a fill.

I am the same just had my first fill 24 hrs ago. I don't think I can feel anything. But Iove the slow approach, sneak up on it. It gives me more adjustment and practice time. I am a little anxious about it, excited at the same time to. Xx

I had my first fill last Saturday and didn't feel a thing until wed when all the sudden I got terrible heartburn so much so I didn't have any appetite. Long story short I had to get it taken out yesterday (and get a lecture about waiting to call. I was hoping it would settle down). Dr says I am prob gonna be one of those that doesn't need much fill for restriction. Let's hope hehe. Going back this wed to get a slightly less fill put back in (had 3cc). On the plus side I was down 4 more lbs (34 lb total) so I'm not gonna complain about not feeling restriction ever again (well for a couple of weeks at least)! We r rocking this girls (even if it is "white knuckle" all the way!!)

Very well put Jennifer1

ooh Im scared im at 6.2 cc with first fill, in at surgery 5.2 cc.

I have my first fill on Tuesday. I was doing really well with the band until the last week I feel like I can eat anything! And am getting hungry again:( I'm trying hard to just control it bit I'm not eating as little as I was right after surgery. I asked my dr on my post op appt, how much was in the band and he said he barely leaves any on there. I'm hoping this fill helps! I don't feel restriction anymore. Don't know if it's because the swelling is gone or because I've lost weight. Any thoughts?

i also wanted to tell the newbies...please dont get caught up in the whole "how much is in your band thing" it's only relevant to you and your band. it can never compare to anyone elses, i prefer not to even discuss how much i have cuz it only matters when i see my doc. as you can see from this thread alone some people need very little to have good restriction and some dont. hey as long as we get the end result of good healthy weight loss. who cares if you have 1cc or 10, right! ijs! happy losing everyone.
