  1. You too Judy! We can do this:)
  2. Don't want to sound like I'm an alcOholic or anything, but at times I enjoy a glass of red wine. I'm 2 weeks post op, have a bridal shower I'm hosting on April 1st and was wondering of its ok to drink? I totally forgot to ask the doctor. And if so has anyone had any issues with drinking? I know it's empty calories...
  3. I had my 2 week post op appt today and I am so excited to say I've lost 17 pounds!! That is from when I weighed 2 weeks before the surgery. I am very happy with my progress and will have my first fill on the 3rd:) had to share this with you guys, since this forum is my greatest support system! Thanks for all the help and motivation:)
  4. If its forming a new scab it's fine. Just keep cleaning it. I just bought antibacterial shower gel and have been using that in the shower on them. The only thing I'm putting on them during the day is aloe vera gel and that has been good with the healing. I'm going to ask the dr fri if there is anything else I need to use, and when I can start using scar medicine. Someone told me to use vitamin e caps, that they work well on scars.
  5. The "break-up" with my best friend food is rough! But I can honestly tell you I feel free now. I do not feel like I am thinking about food all the time like before. I don't have to question what should I eat, I feel guilty for eating this, am I eating too much? I just feel like it is part of a routine. I was just banded in the 7th, so it's only been 2 weeks, but for me my mind feels a big relief. The preop diet was harder than after you are banded it is easier to eat less. Hope this helps:)
  6. Thanks Steph! I appreciate it!
  7. Never get them and I've had 2 since the surgery! I know there is certain ones we can't take. What can I take, only Tylenol?
  8. Is it like an open wound? Or do you mean it's red around the incision? If its just like an open wound due to the scab coming off, go buy some steri strips to close ur back up. ( or like butterfly bandage closures) you don't want it to get infected!!!
  9. I had my surgery on the 7th and had it to. It went away after a week. I think it was something from the surgery( anthesia, or something?)
  10. I'm on BC and dr said it was fine. Never stopped taking them.
  11. I am only 2 weeks post op, I just switched to mushies last Friday. I felt restriction until the switch. I think I had swelling and it was helping me not be hungry. (I guess?) now that I am recovered and back to work its the same old story. Im hungry all the time:( I have increased my food a little but not to the point of what I was eating before. I am definitely having to use willpower. I only feel the pouch is full for like 30 min after I eat, then it's back to being hungry. Is this because of eating mushies? Don't give up girl, it is hard but we can do it!! I have heard it takes several fills before you are in that green zone.
  12. Hey does anyone know of any issues with chewing gum? My dr told me not to do it the first week but nothing about long term. With trying to overcome this "bandster hell" I really need to chew! Is this ok for banders? Thanks!
  13. I have anxiety too ( panic attacks at times) the best thing for me was to literally not think about it at all until it came. I just dove into work. I had the dr make me the first surgery (6am) so I was do sleepy it was just like going back to sleep. Just remember its a day surgery and if you having a surgery it's one of the safest ones to have. You will do just fine, and good luck!
  14. I go for my first post op appt this Friday. I don't know if I'm getting first fill or not. I can't wait and see too!
  15. I am currently going through bandster hell!!! I am using sheer willpower but it is extremely hard. My coworkers all ate taco bell around me whole I ate cottage cheese yesterday. And today they had Texas roadhouse! It's tough. The hardest thing is, is that I feel like I need to eat more. I am just plain hungry all the time. I was relieved when I started mushies on Friday but I guess healing has brought the hunger back!!! But we can do this!!!! Don't give up! You are not alone!
  16. I had 2 days clear liquids, 1 week full liquids, and an now on 2 week purée. Of course per my dr.
  17. Where do u live? Walgreens and Cvs have it. I'm sure any Walmart, target, etc. any pharmacy should have it OTC.
  18. I am only 11 days post op, Following the liquid diet was easy I guess due to being in recovery from the surgery. I am guessing from the comments that before you get a fill you must be able to eat more. I have been measuring food 4oz per meal and have no problem drinking 11oz shake. But I see people on here that say they can't even get down 2oz? I have over done it a few times cause in starting to get hungrier, and I've eaten up to 8oz food. I'm on purée diet and have had no nausea or anything like that. I hope I haven't stretched mine???
  19. Milk of magnesia is a lifesaver! And won't make you have cramping.
  20. Thanks for all the advice. I will do some walking to start! I go to my dr on Friday so hopefully he can let me know when I can go back to class. Thanks again, I appreciate it!
