  1. I am choosing GSV or RNY because the thought of rerouting my intestines scared the hell out of me. Also I was worried about malabsorption issues. I know a few people who have had RNY (and kept off the weight) but they always seem to look somewhat unhealthy.
  2. Going to be ordering my Unjury this coming week. WOW! Closer and closer.
  3. Are you going to Mexico or staying in the US? I imagine you would have to pay for the complications yourself. I am worried about this too. I am going to Mexico next month.
  4. I am interested to see what others have to say too. Drinking wine is my vice now and I have to say that I do drink more than I should. I am going to stop two weeks before surgery to make sure I do not double shock my body. If it comes down to it and after I am sleeved I feel the need to keep drinking I will seek help. There is no way in hell I am going to ruin a $10,000 surgery (out of my own pocket) on calories from alcohol. Jimmy - it is great that you are thinking about this now beforehand. I would look in to maybe having one low calorie drink once in a while. I have heard that bacardi and diet is low carb and has the least amount of calories. Good luck to you.
  5. I don't know. I have a pretty big ass! LOL
  6. That is a fantastic list. I can pretty much agree with about 95% of them. It sucks getting stuck in a damn chair. Then you have to play it off somehow like you accidentally tripped over yourself or something to get out of it. I am getting ready to go to NYC in three days and instead of being extremely excited I am terrified that I am going to have to ask for a seat belt extender. I flew last November and was almost to that limit but I think I have gained a few lbs since then. That is all I can think about right now. Also, I tried getting on a roller coaster at Knotts Berry Farm last November and it was so hard for them to buckle me in. I told them it was ok and that I woul get off because I felt like I was causing a scene but they somehow managed to squeeze my fat ass in there. I can't wait for all of those things too. Thank you so much for sharing.
  7. That is wonderful! What a great feeling of accomplishment.
  8. I'm glad you stuck with your decision. I've tried every diet Program known to man over the past 12 years. I've spent well over what my surgery is going to cost. I'm so glad I'm going to be done with the diet roller coaster. I think you made the right choice. Good luck To you.
  9. Congrats that is fantastic. The hard work and effort paid off for you.
  10. Congratulations. Wish you health and a speedy recovery.
  11. I had an appointment to get an unfill this coming Saturday. I got a message from his scheduler that he isn't coming up now this weekend. He's a doc who visits every few months in Truckee, CA who sees Mexico lap-banders (me). I'm having my revision on May 11 and need to get an unfill ASAP. So now I have no idea where to go or who to see to get the unfill. Fill Centers USA has closed so now I'm screwed.
  12. Awesome job! Can't wait to join you on the loser's bench. Sandra - you are getting sleeve one day before me.
  13. Anyone else going under on May 11th? I see a lot of dates right around there but haven't seen the 11th yet.
  14. Awesome! Congrats to you. You're an inspiration to us all.
  15. A-freaking-men! I was just bitching about this to BF the other day. Haha
  16. So exciting to read about all of your successes. I can't wait to join the losers bench with you ladies. Great job.
  17. Thanks for sharing that information. I have been reading so much about Dr. Kelly. I am sure he is great but it all comes down to what you are comfortable with. I chose Dr. Aceves because I keep hearing that when it comes to revisions, he is the man. Can't believe we are already in April. When I first started thinking about revision to sleeve it was February and May seemed so far away. I am so glad it is almost here. Can't wait for the life changing event.
  18. What a great topic. When I had my crap-band put in in 2009 it didn't change our relationship much. We did end up divorcing but it had nothing to do with the band. I didn't lose much weight though so that could be why too. I am interested to see what people have to say about this.
  19. These are some great things to think about. I am about 5 weeks out from surgery but I really appreciate reading things like this to prepare myself for what lies ahead.
  20. I spent about $12 and ordered a few samples from UNJURY. Haven't tried the unflavore yet but I want to make sure I like something before I buy a big cannister of it. You should do that if you can.
  21. Is there a board where we can go talk about anything? I wanted to ask the other day if anyone was going to watch the new show with Wilson Phillips lol and I didn't know where to post it or if I even could. I see there is a talk lounge but even in there it seems to be primarily VGS talk. Hmmmm. I want to talk about being mad at my boyfriend or the ridiculous outfit so and so wore at the Oscars of just plain old talk. Anyone else?
  22. When I am on my meds I feel like they aren't helping me. It is when I stop taking them that I really notice a difference in my attitude. I turn into a really moody ass. lol
  23. Oh my gosh you look so great! Great job. Thank you for posting.
  24. Thank you to both of you. I will definitely use the advice of my doctor. For some reason, I assumed I could do it on my own. Wow. I didn't realize it would be that difficult. Also, I will be mourning my 1-2 glasses of wine most nights of the week as I am going to be giving that up as well. I didn't realize that you could use other meds to help wean off anti-depressants?
