  1. I say dump the alcohol and food and go back to the Sex....It burns alot of calories and is an enjoyable gratifing exercise. Then go back to eating small portions and make sure you get your Protein first...then your fruits and veggies. But stay away from the booze as was said earlier straight sugar and that causes weight gain like non other. Make sure you get your liquids in and start making your yougurt smoothies again, the boyfriend will love them and they are good for you both! Good Luck in your continued weight loss, I know you can do it!
  2. My gripe is "Why can't my husband WAKE the F*** up" He says to me in public when I have 2 Tablespoons of food on my plate...."wow your being a pig tonight" or "making a gluten out of yourself today"...I came home last night and he had fixed dinner (first time in 10 yrs) Deep Fried Battered shrimp a and chicken and Homemade Fries....really...does he think this is "GOOD HEEALTHY" food? or is it just deliberate sabbatage tactics...? I made a banana strawberry greek yogurt smoothie....was wonderful and chose not to indulge in the mounds of saturated oils...Oh but how the food smelled so wonderful.
  3. yes, I am 7+ weeks out and I have yet to brave a cheeseburger....yikes I'm still very causious with the food that passes my lips and maybe I'm just a little over protective but I google every calorie and gram of protein that passes through my trap. I keep a food diary and this seems to help my head figure out I truely am not hungry. I still struggle majorly with getting the fluids in throughout the day!
  4. Surgery is not a Fix All, it is simply a tool we purchase to help us lose weight, kinda like a diet pill but WAY BETTER! I find some people even if they know you've had the surgery are timid about saying "oh you look great, Keep it up" they will tell a family member who is brave enough to pass along the compliment. And then you have folks who you've known for years who are not aware you have had the surgery and they EXCLAIM IN THE MIDDLE OF PUBLIC "OH MY YOU ARE LOOKING GOO, THERE IS ONLY HALF OF YOU LEFT, WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING TO YOURSELF" now when this happens you will be completely validated! This happened to me just this week and I've only lost 52 lbs....but this lady just couldn't help herself...and you know what?....It felt great to have such a compliment! Good Luck
  5. This excites me...I bought the Wii fit to use as an exercise at home thing then the darn thing wouldn't let me play....I'm gonna go try it tonight. I thought it was 300...Well I'm gonna show it who's the boss. I can't wait the kids always want me to play but the darn thing wouldn't let me...Yahoo!
  6. These are graphic photo's of incisions and drain for all to see
  7. You are SOOOOO RIGHT, my Wii won't even let me play I'm so fat....well in 1.9 lbs I'm gonna show it who's who in the zoo! I will be under 300 lbs and it will have to let me play!
  8. Go GIRL!!!!
  9. I have since surgery lost 52 lbs....I have been dwelling on where I had lost the weight...to me my face looks no different (but people keep saying your face is thinner) to me my waist does not feel or look smaller (yet I am wearing a 24 vs. 28)...but I just do not SEE the difference...I still see myself as Fat (well I still am but a thinner fat...LOL) I was sitting in my office yesterday when in came a woman from out in the county who is a very good and loyal customer....Who by the way did not have a clue that I had undergone sleeve surgery. She came in looking to purchase a product and before she could get out what she needed she burst into amazement and said "What on earth are you doing to your self...you are like half the person!' You look absolutely great. You are just glowing....You look Great!" Well Thank You Melinda, for complete validation. I know truly if someone who doesn't know about the surgery can see the loss then there must be some changes happening. I am still swimming 3 X a week for and hour and soon I will begin walking the dog. I am getting ready to redo my dining room and living room, fresh paint and waines coat in the living room. I have so much more energy and my knees have quick screaming and my back doesn't scream as much!
  10. Oh girlfriend 92 lbs is amazing...How on earth can you suggest failure....? You need to regroup get a friend on board with you, go back to liquids for a time and gradually move forward as we did in the begining. Make sure you are exercising it is now getting nice and springy out, start walking, get into Water arobic class...etc...hit the gym whatever is your poison. Exercising also will help pull you out of depression and give you more energy. Try it...you'll love it! Good Luck Girl!
  11. Wow just had the greatest NSV I was at work and a lady came in who was unaware of my surgery and I hadn't seen her in months....She exclaimed (in front of my hubby) Wow Girl what are you doing, you are just glowing....you are like half the person....(well I have only lost 51 lbs so not quite...but non the less)...she just kept ranting and raving....wow...there must really be a difference even though I don't see it yet!
  12. I would have to say my NSV so far would have to be not taking a pain pills for knee pain since surgery. I usually would take 1-2 a day depending on how much I would be on my feet, and my feet and knees don't ache like they used too. I was always ready for bed by 7 p.m. and bought pizza, fast food for the family so I didn't have to stand at the stove and cook, cuz I was so tired. I am 51 lbs down, 7 weeks post opt, and am reloving fixing fun food for the family!
  13. If you are self pay and it is costing that much, why not save a bundle and head down south of the border....My my what I could do with the extra money....a new wardrobe, tummy tuck, a little plastics later on....
  14. I just make the turkey meatballs and add some teryaki maranade to it...gives it flavor of a teryaki burger. Did you see the recipie for the cupcake Lasagna's? OMG they are fabulous, and so easy...the kids loved them and wanted them twice in a week, so I changed it up a bit first time I used ground beef the second time used ground chicken....they were fabulous...I of course took a small dish and made the hubby a bigger one that he enjoyed... Try it you'll love it!
  15. good for you! a trip of a life time....cottage cheese was my friend!!!

Glad to see you are Losing so nicely! Ain't it Grand!!
  18. Hey sister~ I have 2 kids left at home and they run me ragged...I can only imagine having 6 ...yikes kudos for you!!! At 4 days post opt I was walking short jaunts and counting the steps to home...LOL You will bounce right back because by day 10 I was going to the movies, attending the county fair in Imperial California, and later by 19 days I started water arobics. This was the best thing for me as you are boyant in the water, your knees and back don't complain and you get a good work out! This is something I could never do on land with the weight impacting on my joints being so heavy. You need to stay away from the scale for a time, then when you do hop on the little bugger it will tell you, you weigh less...the numbers will start to fall. Keep in mind your body will go thru stalls, you just gotta work thru them, mine was at about 3 weeks I had a bout 4 days where I did not even lose 1 ounce.....grrr DO IT FOR YOU!!! everyones metabolism is different...are you keeping a food calorie/carb/protein diary? If not try it, it really helps me be honest to the program I have set forth.
  19. Well I have lost 50 lbs today! and I havn't really noticed the loss other than my pants won't stay up. I am now wearing a 24W rather than a 28W. My feet are not swollen and are extremely thin as are my fingers....Ya not exactly the first place I would wish to lose the weight but I'll take what I can get. It will melt off give it time....
  20. Delta...Almost 7 weeks with this loss...Moday will mark 7 weeks out
  21. Wow!! Today marks a 50 lb loss...the most I have ever lost in one sitting...and the weight continues to melt away....I am excited when I meet up with friends and family who havn't seen me in a while who compliment me on how thin my face looks and even my own brother says he can see the loss in my waist line.... Easter was a challenging day! I got up early and quickly whipped up 3 pumpkin pies and a chocolate cream pie. I put the big ole' ham in the oven to bake with a brown sugar mustard glaze like all the family loves. I baked up a sweet potatoe and defiled it with butter brown sugar and marshmellows. we did not have a turkey as we were at my daughters and this is what she had to prepare. I make a green bean cassarole and stuffing and a fruit salad, I peeled 5 lbs of potatoes and made mashed taters...and when it was all place in the buffet line for all to go thru, I took a teaspoon of everything and managed to finish most of it before feeling the satisfaction of eating Easter Dinner with my family as I always had in the past. I did skip the pies and the amazing desert buffet my sister in law had prepared but everyone else was able to indulge. Easter was a success! I did not lose any weight over the holiday, however I did not gain any either.
  22. Funny my 12 yr. old boy, keeps saying wow mom your feet have shrunk.....as my feet used to be swollen and look like fat swollen blocks on the end of my kankle...I can even wear my dress shoes now...and put my own socks on... So congrats to your compassionate and wonderful son for noticing such a huge milestone for you....
  23. God Bless you both, Prayers for your docs and for you in recovery....Welcome to the losers bench!!
  24. yes PDX mine is an abdominal hernia....but doc said same thing is it is just an extra few moments to fix things but USA doc's tend to want to charge for the entire surgery as if it were a totally separate surgery...craziness....
  25. Wow! Good for the both of you! I know some of my hubby and I's best conversations have been under water....Seems to be the only get away from the kids....I do look forward to those days again soon, thanks for the reminder there are still great things to come! Scrubadub dub
