  1. I am 6 mos. out yesterday...go look at my pre=op photo and my pic today! you will see I DO NOT REGRET NOT ONE SECOND OF IT! very little room to error,,,,and if your surgeon is trained well you will be fine....We will all keep you in our prayers Jan
  2. Wean yourself now, as caffine withdrawls are bad...and better healing with no caffine....also no soda unless it is flat and then "What's the point"? Also diet soda has so much bad in it even though it has 0 cals...enough sodium to smell a balloon... Try vita waters, they even have then in ZERO if you cant afford the 50 cals., decaf Iced Tea, I have even learned to drink it with no sugar or sweetner
  3. Good Luck Repoman! If your profession indicates your screen name...OMG you will feel like a new person and your job will be so much easier... I Repo in my small community for a tri-company in Oregon... I have lost 103 lbs. in 5 mos... has made my life WAY MUCHO BETTER
  4. You go girl.... I have now lost 104# and I have a whole new sence of confidence...As I see myself walking down a windowed hallway I see my "new" shadow...and think to myself "hmmm you are looking pretty good!" Before I would see the shadow and wish I could run the end so I wouldn't have to look at the nasty shadow blob... I know I am still 94# over goal and when I finally get there well hell's bell's....I'm gonna party! I now have men approach me and ask for dates, dinner and more...(however, I'm married)lol. I have younger men tell me if I wern't married they would wellllll you get the point... New confidence...It is wonderful! Good luck with your Sleeve!
  5. Surgery on Monday out of Hospital Thursday at 7 a.m. Slept most of Thursday with the occasional get up and walk walks...then Friday went to the Movies with my sister and nephew, then Saturday went to the El centro Fair and toured all my nephews entries, Sunday I went to church and flew home to Oregon ...Monday morning I drove myself home while my hubby6 slept in the passenger seat! Drove 2 hours and went to work for the remainder of the day and then it's all history from there! Work work work.... I had my surgery in Mexico and there was literally ZERO pain associated with my surgery....AMAZING my surgeon was a master and My master had his hands on him during my surgery....The Lord gave me a great surgical teram and placed his healing hand upon me....
  6. 386 heaviest 354 surgery date 2/27/12 253 today wow the last post sounds ;ike i'm barely awake...lol my bad i am...lol
  7. I am dow 101# this morning...yahoo!! just 93# to go to goal...it's been a great 4.5 months...If I can keep it up I'll meet my goal by December... My heaviest was 386 day of surgery 354 today I weighed in for sleeve on 2/27/12 at 253! Have a great day!
  8. MGM....Love ya chickie...new friends can be very supportive especially when they understand and have been or are wearing the same shoes, as uncomfortable as they may be. I love my husband, but I NEED for him to love me fat or thin...not just thin... and not just on his terms.... I have not taken offense to ANYTHING anyone has written, in fact almost the exact opposite...everytime from here on out, when my hubby does something to disrespect me...I am going to think of a wild Grizzly Bear....LOL Thanks Patric...I will tell you the first real good belly laugh I have had in a flipping long time...OMG it was so funny I had to share with my friends who watch me and my sadness with how my hubby treats me. So Thank You for a well Needed laugh...
  9. I was sleeved in Mexicali by Dr. Aceves....his crew was exceptional and we women on the block that week left a $120 tip for Blanca to by breakfast goodies for the staff and goodies for night staff
  10. I was sleeved same day!! I have lost 93# to date and have had several stalls where i lost nothing for 9=11 days...but when the stall breaks...it's great! Be patient and get your protien in and walk walk walk or swim swim swim! Goood Luck
  11. JLewis.... I have lived and loved this man for 20+ years and I truely wish for another 20 yrs...He is the father of my children and the grandfather of my grandbabies...He is an awesome father and grandfather.... with those few exceptions along lifes way that we all have....But you all are so right he has disrespected me for the last time....I have distanced myself from the meanness and he will have to EAT HIS WORDS when I weigh in 5 lbs under him....He always says you can lose weight on your own you just have no will power...well after 4 kids and using a Norplant birthcontrol which made 100# gain overnight look easy...well...after 2 yrs and 200# I got the dam thing removed...He will see that he should have taken care of this wife in the fashion I want to be taken care of ....because though women as well as men NEED to be WANTED and NEED to be NEEDED....I have had several requests to be wanted and needed by others...so if he has come complacent and would prefer to live like room mates...well he can get a different room mate!
  12. The Book "The power of a praying wife".....great book! I will tell you now even after 4 months and 92# loss...My hubby has yet to say one word about my weight loss... However at work I have had 3 marriage proposals and 1 blaten request to go have an affair. Even an old fling has surfaced and would like to rekindle the love and wow is he good at sexting! (lol) Already makes me feel better. When I first got on this site i wrote a few Blogs to begin the journey...I had one fella tell me ... "The largest fat I needed to lose was my fat head husband"...LOL I do love him but sometimes I don't like him very well. the other thing someone told me was...DOn't make any vast changes after surgery just let things ride....as our emotions are all wound up with getting our head around our new life style....lol so funny as since I had lost maybe 30# I began to feel better and I began to clean things in and out of the house, I painted the dining room and livingroom, I had waincoting put up now chair rail and I have become more proactive to what my house looks like rather than a pig pen and me the maid..... He did tell someone that since I had lost some weight I have been working him to death....well it's about time....why do men have to be such jerks... he also grumbled to another family friend that all I feed him is protien and fruit....well now that must be why he goes to grocery and buys $100 worth of snack **** twinkies hohos ding dongs cracker jacks....etc and puts that **** in MY fruit bowl...yes this happened,,,,and a seperate time he was having a conversation with the 12 yr old overweight son....and they got up went to the store bought 40 yes 40 not a typo...candy bars and put them in my lap..... I did not count my surgery as a secret, I have told anyone who asks...I do have a very supportive base of friends! Everyone EXCLAIMS how great I am looking throughout my jouney....and to be perfectly honest I find this to be supportive and sufficient...I don't need his cocky ass bringing me down, not to say I wouldn't love for him to say wife you are looking great, sexy,.....etc...but for now all the other men ARE looking and they ARE not afraid to verbalize how sexy I am becoming...It's great for the self confidence! I had an interesting pm yesterday from one of my brother in laws....he has not seen me but heard the other chatter from the oother inlaws...he said "congratulations on you new weight loss program...I am proud of you!" wow coming from a brother in law I have had in the past 20+ years only a handful of conversations with,,,I was happy to get the atta girl... dont let your dead weight cause your soul or body trauma....you are going to be a sleeve sister and we are many! we will be your anchor in the storm!....you have my info call or text any time... Jan
  13. I am dow 90# now...seemd i hit a 11 dat stall and now must work super hard for even 1/2 lb.....but agree inches are melting away,,,smaller pant size 10 pant sizws down since surgery
  14. I so love Dr. Aceves' He is definately the most competent surgeon I have to say! He uses common sence which I think is lacking in alot of today surgeons....I would reccommend listening and following anything Dr. Aceves' says....The office staff Nina and Gabby are awesome to respond with ANY questions you have. I found by week 4 I was strong ALL my incisions had healed and I was only off work a total of 5 days.... This is the most wonderful thing I have done for myself in 20+ years!
  15. My husband did not say one word for or against the surgery until the morning I left...then he said "are you writing out your last will and testiment?" your going to a third world country to have a major surgery...what in the hell are you thinking?" And he walked out....Did not tell me he loved me, no kiss good bye, not nothing just left.... It is HUGE to have a good support system...I was doing this for me...me...me...and again...ME!...I wanted to play with my grandchildren not watch him play with them. I have since lost 89# to date and am loving every ounce of the loss. I have people come up to me in the store on the street and when they visit my home or office and squeel in absolute amazement at how awesome I am looking...and to be perfectly honest...I am looking pretty good...I have come down 10 pants sizes in 3 1/2 mos. Yet my hubby has yet to utter one word of praise or support! I know he told our 12 yr. old son "your mom will always be fat" and "she is just wasting her money this will never work".....he is probably not said anything as he is continueing to figure out how in the heck he is gonna quit choking on his vicious evil words. I love him to death do us part....and if I must perform the hymlick manuever because those words get stuck...I will....and I only have another 116 lbs to go before I weigh in less than him.... And that should be around Christmas time.... Do this for YOURSELF....YOU MATTER! YOUR HEALTH MATTERS!!! My girlfriends who were skeptical of the surgery are now my biggest cheerleaders! Welcome to the losers bench....the more the merrier!
  16. I just got through a 9 day stall....oh how frustrating....but back on track and losing again! yeah
  17. I so use the mago flavor it makes an awesome smoothie! think ill have one this morning!
  18. I am there with ya, I have lost 86# and I would fit into a smaller size pant if it weren't for "My Apron of skin" still hanging around to remind me what a slob I had become....Another 120# and I will begin to request the insurance we do have now will go in and repair a hernia i have and in the process do the tummy tuck at the same time....Maybe close to February of next year so my next summer will be simply amazing! I cannot wait it is already killing me the anticipation....but I want to lose some more of this gosh aweful weight first before I start my Quest to have it repaired, i am sure that will kill another 20 lbs. just removing the fat apron. I bought a spandex lycra type deal the goes from your thigh region and covers your breast plate that not only gives you a little shape, but it holds everything in place so it's not jiggling and wiggling around...I can even dance without causing earthquake syndrom to my body...LOL But after your post, I do believe I might try the evil djin:)......I'll let ya know if anything gives...LOL I needed a great laugh for my day....Thank you for that!
  19. food Funeral is a good term....I used my "Last Suppers"...I went out with each and every sibling, parent, and friend that I have regular lunches or dinners with...My brother in law made me my all time favorite disk chicken and potatoes and peppers and OMG I am sure this was NOT on the list of foods acceptable everything deep fat fried the Mexican way which of course makes it much better than anything else in this universe....(he's an awesome cook), I Had steak dinner with my folks, I went to Algodones and had a meal with my sister, had Breakfast burrito's homemade by the mexican ladies of the church, and pizza and salad with my brother, and chinese with my friends from Burns who winter in California, and well my list goes on and on and on.... When I got back home from Surgery....The preacher began his 2 month preaching from the book of I Cor.....this was indeed just what the doctor ordered. I Cor 6:12 "EVERYTHING IS PERMISSABLE, BUT EVERYTHING IS NOT BENEFICIAL".....now I am sure there was a different message for most with this verse...but it hit me hard and I began to love this verse....In fact I have it posted on my refridgerater.... Yes I can have a brownie (it is permissable) But that brownie is NOT beneficial.... Yes I can have a soda (it is permissable) but that soda could do damage to my new pouch I paid $9000 for so not so beneficial... I hope this helps
  20. Your body goes into starvation mode...the only way to break that stall is to trick your body into thinking it is recieving enough caloric intake....It works don't ask me how but it does....I was in a stall for a week not even 1 oz. lost and I asked the doc, he said increase my calories by 100 and sure enough the next day I was 2 lbs. down....CRAZY body
  21. I am a business owner, and I took just 7 days off, I had surgery on Monday and went back to work on the next Monday. I was in the hospital for 3 of those days....and flew home on Sunday to arrive at work on Monday! I felt great, but moved a little slow....I have a desk job and could be as easy as I wanted to be....I had Soup for all my lunches and now I keep chicken or turkey lunch slices and a bag of cheese sticks in the office fridge. I bring strawberries and blueberries to work with me daily and sometimes a banana....this is my daily food intake at the office. I also swim on my lunch hour 3 x's a week. It is super important to eat and drink during work hours or you'll go into starvation mode, so I always have something....
  22. I returned home from surgery in Mexico to a house smelling of brownies, Cookies, and cake....they were all sure to tell me they knew I was unable to eat this type of stuff and how yummy it was....the next day I came home after a full day of work and my husband had made a blackberry pie, a rhubarb-strawberry pie, and a huckleberry apple pie...and he had purchased 2 yes 2 dozen donuts at the local bakery and purchased a box of honey buns and a box of ding dongs and a six pack of cracker jacks to fill my fruit bowl up...... NOW THAT IS FRUSTRATING! I said nothing, It hurt my feelings and made me sad....so I went for a walk though it was slow going at that rate...but walked some of my frustration off....within the next 2 weeks I did not indulge myself in his temptations....so he then the 3rd week went and bought a bunch more crap from the store...but he musta got tired of baking (LOL) I do believe he was intentionally trying to sabatage me....(but itdid NOT work)...I have lost #86 lbs since surgery and feel freaking amazing.... Just ignore and if you must take this time to take a walk. The other thing is there is a little air purifier you can get that during the cooking or baking time turn it on and it disapates the smell....lol takes and neutralizes the smell for everyone.... Good Luck!
