well...started at 354 and now at 269....85# since feb 27th....yahoo....and it's that TOM so no loss this week.....ugggg..I swim in water arobics 3 x's a week....

If it were me....I would not miss the birth of not even 1 of my grandbabies....for any reason.... Also the support you get from others are amazing... I have folks poke their head in my busy office and ask????"how many today?" 81# your doing great keep it up, we are proud of you....

mine just rubbed off...while dry....didn't use anything but dr did suggest rubbing alcohol...if needed

I'm thinking....$60K- usa vs. $8750 Mexico....$51K different....you could make a huge down pymy on a house, buy a car, a new ward robe after surgery, remodel your home.... It is about YOU! and no one else. Good luck I had a wonderful experience...

My starting weight was 354 and I was sleeved on 2/27/12 in Mexico....I am currently 276.2 as of this morning....yahoo I am down from size 28-30 to now a 22-20, yeeha! I am loving it, my knees feel great my body feels great! I'm so much happier!

look into going to Mexico...I did that and I had a great surgeon and team...Dr. Aceves he is fabulour and thourough...couldn't ask for anything better...I paid $8750 inclusive....motel, hospital, etc...blood work, EKG, before/after X-rays and Blanca and Yolanda were by my side the entire time when I needed anything.

I have a huge support system, that does not include him....I have 2 besties who are great and another sleeve sister from another month and 3 sleeve sisters from same day! I use this forum as a major source of information, support, and knowledge. I swim 3 X a week and walk the other 4. I have gained so much energy from the weight loss of 75#, my knees don't hurt, my back doesn't hurt...and I am going crazy redoing my dining room and living room. And it never fails when we get company or have just gone to Ranch and Home supply store or grocery store that there isn't at least one person that with exclamation asstounds how awesome I look and that I am just glowing....It is great inspiration for me and he has to have some acknowledgement of my weight loss, though he has not uttered one word in praise or encouragement. I have overcome the wishful thinking he will one day he will too acknowledge that I am losing wight and that I do look alot better and more healthy than I have in years! I love my friends, family, and community who do support me openly in public and in private....some people don't know how to approach the fact that I have shrunk #75 but you can see it on their faces...."do I say something or not"

How many grams of protein in that 2 ounces? like 1/4 cup cottage cheese is 13 grams so 4X a day would be like51 g of protein...? that is pretty close and add a protein bar mid day you'd have it....

OMG....when I was 5 days post op in a crowded airplane,,,,good thing it was a 45 min flight or I would not have made it...when I was able to stand up and move about it subsided and went away....thank goodness

They say it can take up to a month for the Grehling hormone to exit our bodies.... I called the dr. when I was so close and he suggested I try an egg to see how it went down...was just fine. I have lost 61 lbs in the past 8 weeks today!

My friends , I am soo lucky, all know about my surgery and have chosen to support me and so when we go out for lunches, they share with me.... During dinners my 15 yr. old daughter is so compassionate toward this entire WLS situation she says "mom what would you like to share with me tonight?" otherwize if I go with my husband and son, I order an omlet or a bowl of Soup.

We have a group of just women and they have become my biggest supporters....and I started this game a size 28W and now 2 months post op....am 22W and melting...noticeable difference! Dont let what people might think stop you ...cuz in no time at all you will be down 60# and runnin circles around them... YOU GO GIRL!!!!

read my blog.... I happened to have the most wonderful experience...I was sleeved in Mexically on Feb 27, 2012 and Dr. Aceves is the one who performed my miracle sleeving... I arrived on a Saturday to have blood work, EKG, and x-rays...many people in the lab...hours to wait...NOPE in came the Yolonda calvery....she swept we into a room and brought everything to me! Outta there in 20 minutes. We arrived Monday at 7 a.m., promptly was given a gown and the docs all came in to give us their speel...They gave me a pill to help nerves...wow I don't really think I had an ounce of nervousness, but after that pill none developed either. I went into surgery at 1 p.m. and well back to my room and by 5 p.m. was up walking the hallways and roaming the 3rd and 4th floor in the hospital....LOL I had ZERO pain, even though I had prepared for much pain I had NONE!....now that was a wow for me.... I had a bit of nausea 3 times and the nurses were there to shoot me up with something and immediately the nausea was GONE! The doc came it to check on me many times troughout the day and Yolanda and Blanca too....the nursing staff was awesome.... I do believe this hospital gives it's patients the royalty treatment...I was very much so impressed...better, cleaner, than any USA hospital I have been in.

I made sure I had my "Last Supers" with all my friends and family...LOL it really isn't like that at all. Yes for the first 2-3 weeks it is the toughest time, as it can take up to 30 days fro the grehlin hormone to exit your body....This is the hormone telling ourselves we are starving.... Well at 354#'s I was anything but starving. I went 3 weeks staying on the diet the doc suggested and I still have an egg and some cottage cheese or yogurt in the morning...but I find greek yogurt is better in a blueberry smoothie than anything else....so I do enjoy a smothie some mornings and use it as a desert to my dinners (the kids are thinking this is the coolest desert ever) little do they know they are healthy for them. I in no way have given up food...I just eat a bite or 2 and call it good...We had a large BBQ at a friends the other day and I took 1 tsp of everything, couldn't even eat it all, but I started with the Proteins and moved to fruit and veggies then the potato salad. I make a cool fruit salad to take to potlucks and BBQ's that is great... 1/2 C vanilla Greek Yogurt 1/2 C Light Sour Cream 1T Coconut Extract 1 T Vanilla Extract 2 Packets Trivia 1/2 chopped apple 1/2 C Blueberries 1/2 C Sliced Strawberries 1 babana sliced Mix up all liquid ingredients to creamy and then add fruit and chill for 1 hour....it is awesome! Any leftovers I take home and put in blender with some ice and you guessed it....smoothie for desert!

I went back to work at 1 week post opt. You just have to be careful with the incisions as they heal..I also went ot Mexico, Dr. Aceves...OMG he is awesome! I have had ZERO pain and ZERO complications.... I am just almost 8 weeks out and have lost 60#'s Good Luck with your surgery! God Bless

I can relate. I have a silly (to everyone but me) NSV...I can put my own socks on for the first time in 3 yrs... I have to date this morning lost 60# I will be 8 weeks on Monday

Sleeved in Mexico by Dr. Aceves....WOW wonderful is all I can say...I loved the royalty treatment program they got going on down there. Sleeved February 27th, 2012 and have lost #58 lbs to date....

I hear the reasons behind the huge charges is the political HIPA, and Mapractice Insr., this is rediculous but our society is so sue happy that the docs must be covered. The hospital must be covered so they charge the docs more to use the facility...Just wait til we get that rediculous OBAHMA CARE going we think its bad now...everyone will be in jail who don't have insr. and those of us who have insr. will be to broke to have anything done we cant afford the co-pays....catch 22

I feel the same way it is difficult for me to see the difference, However I know in my head, I have lost 57# and how could I not look different. I had my attorney corner me in the parking lot at the grocery last night....He said I must ask you something, I said ok (thought it was a work question) he says quietly as if it were a secret... "So you went to Mexico....I said yep had a great time spent 11 days with my mom and sister.....pause....he said so why did you go?....So I told him I had some surgery. He replied yes I figured that....what kind of surgery....so I told him WLS....He then said I knew it you are looking amazing, good for you....and his voice got louder and louder in his exclamations...LOL" Guess it was no longer a secret! My point of this conversation was....He gave some validation to the weight loss...He noticed but did not want to be rude and tell me I was looking amazing if I hadn't been working on it....(he is a single attorney, I might add)....but none the less ppl in my community who do not know I have had surgery....are making the comments...so even though we as always the "Fat Girsl" can't see the loss, others are seeing and are amazed by the melt down effect.
