  1. I'm saddened to hear this especially since she was not overweight. I know that that insurance companies differ in certain criteria, but thought there would at least be specific critieria for a minor. Bless her heart! I hope things turn around with you and your husband. Much success to you.
  2. I too would recommend purchasing the sample pack of nectar. They offer 13 flavors for $13 shipping included. I have tried a couple and so far the Vanilla Bean Torte is my favorite. Since I have not had surgery yet I'm using it with Almond Milk. I also drink the Atkins Advantae and EAS. They don't have as much Protein as the Premiere as recommended by the others, but they are tasty. I use those for my Breakfast and will slowly incorporate other items with it.
  3. You will do fine. You body will be 'tricked' so to speak. Try to get some rest in and relax. All is Well!
  4. I had my first NUT appt. on Monday. She did advise to take at least 20 mins as it takes the brain that long to register that you are full.
  5. Had a follow up with a PCP today. BP is in the normal range for the second time this week. I haven't seen 120/80 in about 12 years. 11 lbs down according to their record. BUT...he wants me on Cholesterol meds. I just don't know what to do. Does anyone else take this type of med now or pre surgery? I'm having the surgery to be healthy not add more meds. Any suggestions. What are some of your experiences taking this type of med? He did say that I would lose lbs taking this.
  6. I noticed on the website that the surgery plan is up for renewal in May. I hope they reduce the 6 month supervised visits.
  7. I do hope that for you as well. Let us know. I have Cigna as well so I'm wondering how they fare as far as approvals.
  8. Sorry to hear of your loss. But you do also have some amazing news in the your Grandfather is progressing nicely. And finally, your test results...great news as well. Wonderful, just wonderful!
  9. I would imagine that you would be able to pay it off in advance. I would try the customer service number or check the website for FAQ's. I remember checking the site a few weeks back but do not remember what the specifics were.
  10. LOL @ stalkers! Don't hog all the men...can you leave me a couple for when I hit the finish line? LOL Nothing like turning heads and knowing you got it!
  11. I've not had surgery yet, so my suggestion may be a bust. I am however taking Protein drinks and am not as regular as I have been since drinking them. My suggestion is a tea called Smooth Move, it is an herbal tea. What about a different item, Benefiber? I would go so far as to say prune juice, but not certain that you can have that now.
  12. I believe we become so wrapped up in what it is we have set our mind to do, it is hard to deal with a set back. Saying to someone that the delay may be a blessing in disguise is a hard pill to swallow most times. You had to realize that for yourself. Get well and rest in knowing all things work together in their proper timing!
  13. That's the right attitude to have. Keep up the good work!
  14. You have made an important decision...one that factors in your health and love of yourself and your family. Much Success to you in your process. There are those here who will indeed cheer you on, motivate and make suggestions. This is well worth it!
  15. Much success to you. This forum holds a wealth of information. I took a Saturday and read old forums. I was so prepared when I met with the nutritionist on Monday that I could have told her what she told me. But use the information wisely. Yes take some of the info with a grain of salt and store other tidbits for when you endure something or have a question regarding something. You will do fine.
  16. After the longest 30 days in my history, I saw the Medical Dr. and the Nutritionist today. Both visits went well. I was so prepared for the NUT because most of the information I already knew or learned from here. One thing that I know I won't be doing and that is because I learned it here...Protein Shots. LOL I have to remember to tell her the reason why. Learning from other's experience here, YouTube and OH (which I seldom visit), adds to the education one will receive. I'm greatful for the 6mos that I will have to go through. It's one day at time anyway. Now I believe that time will pass quickly and say I'm at the final stage. She also offered a website some of you may or may not be interested in. This is especially for Pre-Oper's who may have a 3 or 6 mo. medically supervised diet. The website show pic of lunch ideas. I thought it was cute and worth sharing. Here's the site: http://easylunchboxes.smugmug.com Until next time... Lyn
  17. Amen! Thanks for posting this. Do you know that I'm feeling this way and I have not even had surgery yet. The thing is I'm going hard, but if there is a pebble to come along my path will I be able to recover and regroup. It's the smallest things that holds our focus. The ultimate goal is to be happy, healthy and whole. I like the Vitamin S: Surrender. I may have to borrow that with your premission.
  18. I don't know if anyone has this product, but if so I read on Medco's website that's product along with Excedrin and NoDoz were being recalled. These are for products with a 12/20/13 expiration date or sooner. Just an FYI. You may also check www.fda.gov for more info.
  19. I found the site...whew I was going crazy. http://www.bariatricchoice.com/bariatric-chewable-protein-tablets-111.html Does anyone know if this would indeed help?
  20. I read an article that suggested Evening Primrose oil helps. Actually someone on youtube mentioned it in their video that they found it on OH. My plan is to start now, stop shortly before surgery and revisit a few weeks after surgery.
  21. Someone else who's been sleeved and knows a bit more than I regarding this can chime in...BUT, in my search for Vitamins and what not to take after surgery, I did come across a Protein in pill form. I was definitely going to ask about it at my appointment on this coming Monday. Anyone know with certain?
  22. I know it can be a bit nerve wrecking! I can only imagine as I almost had a panic attack preparing for my endo! Hang in there.
