  1. best of luck i what ever you decide..i hope your dr makes you feel better..
  2. wrong..............sorry to correct you.. you are so beyond will power you are a card carrying member with 100% want power you are already writing your success story you have so got this
  3. that is 100% correct. so when i do eat (i make sure i am getting the Protein, veggie stuff in me) and i do drink my shake (like you in the a.m.) i like knowing i have that jump on the protein and I LOVE my shake so i dont mind the way i see it, my bod has some extra (fat) on me and if it needs to borrow some from my a ss area or thighs, be my guest
  4. jim can i add something....i eat when i am hungry.. if i am not hungry (at lunch) i dont eat....if i am not hungry at dinner, i dont eat i think of a baby....they eat when hungry and then turn their head when full..... you have done well....but i can read myself in your words.
  5. reading about people who (keep it super tight) is kinda scary. i mean do we keep it so tight so we lose weight fast while we cant drink or eat and so on or do we go lose so we can eat properly and help the band? i choose the latter. and if i am slower to lose, so be it..at least i am not hurting myself. and frankly i have hurt myself enough over the years.
  6. thank you so much for this. explains alot, esp to one who has no fills yet.

to gain weight, one must take in more calories than they burn off. my band will help me (fill fuller) so i need to be aware of what i eat... i did the research and i prepared myself to either do it or not.
  9. using my want power, i do not eat when i am stressing or dealing negative people in my life.......thankfully i am able to use other coping measures. at work, with rude people, i take a walk up and down the halls....at home, in MIL issues or TOM issues with hub, i take a short stroll or take a hot bath and lose myself in a book.....come to far to let (food) get in my way. great post
  10. eye candy a sexy a s s momma
  11. aj is my hero and BFF
  12. you are no wall flower...you my dear are a goddess
  13. you and i were banded about the same time. and i recall reading your posts and blogs. i hope nothing i say offends you. so forgive me if i do. we all have been there but going back to drinking protein shakes (will help in the beginning but you cannot live on shakes for ever) but really eating food to lose weight is best. 3500 is a pound whether its ate or drank. and if you take in more calories than you burn off, you will gain (or not lose). def eat 1 cup of food per meal..(protein first option and then veggie/fruit).. def need to stay away from processed items (as that has salt and that is a water retainer)....if you can, eat more foods to fill you up. and drink ALOT. (to me, eating bread is not a filling item..you can eat the chicken and burger but leave off the bread..just MOO) i cant exercise like some because of my bad knees so i have to be aware of my calorie intake but i do try to eat high protein/very fill my tummy up foods. and you being on your feet every day teaching is a wonderful thing. and trying to lose 60 pounds in 4 months is way way too much. if you dont get there, i am afraid you will be upset. how about just losing weight without putting a number on it...just do the best you can. you can do this. the band is there and its working. now you just need to help it along
  14. wow do you ever look great and hub does too thank you for taking time out to share your weekend with us. more vino
  15. i must not have read that..apparently for good reason.
  16. i agree deedee. we all have had a weight problem. and we know how it feels to have this surgery. alittle kindness goes along way and compassion. i try to have alittle of each. although i admit, i at times can become incensed as the sheer stupidity of those who seemingly dont care.
  17. great post. thanks for sharing your thoughts
  18. not only hell yeah but F*** yeah
  19. my nut advised me to eat items (all) in portions.....but after the band and realizing protein filled me up and made me not eat as much (and kudo's for my band helping me also) i choose now to not eat un filling foods like rice/pasta/bread/potatos. i eat lean meats/fruit/veggies which fill me up. it works for me. good post.
  20. yes, living life better with the band...its great now, its only getting better.
  21. amy i feel you and understand...catfish is right....yesterday is over...sure it hurts and it always will..but use that hurt to your advantage...prove those negative thoughts you have wrong..you are gorgeous inside and out... there are mean people in this world..i hate mean people..i believe strongly in what goes around.. i was nearly home bound for 2 yrs because i was ashamed to go out..i am still struggling to bring myself out of that..if i can do it, at 336 when i started, so can you..every day is a new day...
  22. WLS is major. Its not a game. Whining and crying is not solving the issue. Cheryl, thank you for again posting common sense. I call my dr all the time, even if it is stupid, to me its NOT. Each to their own. I intend to make my band a success story.
