How Bad...
sip all day long. Water is good and you need to stay hydrated. i drink alot of crystal light all day long. i carry a bottle w/me everywhere. i also drink half sweet/half unsweet tea. being dehydrated is not a good thing and can end up in hospital. one of our banders was severely so and was in ER for it. i hope she see's this and responds. you need to try hard to get up to 64 or more. daily i am 75+ easy. yep i am short so i pee alot but its a good thing you can do it.

Pre Op Diet....
keep busy and try not to think so much on not eating. that is head hunger. you get hungry because its lunch time and you think you should eat or someone is eating around you or snacking. just know this pre op diet and post op diets are only for a short period of time and soon you will be able to eat/enjoy food again. stay strong stay focused. get your mind in this game and if you want to do this, do it 100% all the best and congrats on your upcoming surgery.

How Many Oz Of Meat Can U Eat?
well, per my dr's instructions, 3-4 oz of Protein is what i am suppose to eat. (but nothing over a cup in total). i try to follow the guidelines they provided as to what to eat and how much (and sometimes i am still hungry and can most likely eat more) but just because i can, i dont. sounds like you are doing well. all the best.

What Happens At The Nutritional Appointment?
i met with mine for 2 hrs and she went over the food basics. you remember the pyramid? she went over the (basics) she then went over what foods are important to eat after banding and to help me stay full and that are good for me. like mis, she showed me the scale and how to measure my foods. she asked what i liked to eat and what i didnt and gave me examples that fitted me better. i learned alot and walked away from her with a much better understanding of the mission at hand and also she stressed, it was up to me to (eat) to lose weight. not eat because i can.

Taking Big Bites
well, if you keep taking (big bites) you will eventually end up stuck to which i hear is not fun nor is *sliming*. so since i have been banded, all my meat/protein is cut into chicklet size pieces and i chew it to like (mashed potatoes). just go slow and take your time.

Lap Band & Gallbladder
years ago, i had my gallbladder removed due to my losing a vast amount of weight quickly......i would think later on they may remove it if you develop gall stones. i would say go ahead but only if your doctor thinks it would benefit you. i am sorry i cant offer anything else other than that. all the best and congrats on your upcoming surgery

One Week Post Op - What Is This Pain??
well, you just had (major surgery) and the stomach muscles were cut. and i would think it is your body healing. and the scar tissue is (maybe) starting to form around your port. i would assume that is why you are feeling that. i felt it myself. mine never stung as yours said but i could def feel some discomfort.i am sure it will get better as the days pass. when i stood, i felt the sensation of pulling (downward also). i think it is perfectly normal. but if in doubt, call your doctor for reassurance. congrats on your surgery and your soon to be success all the best.

Tanning
same, about 3 weeks out seems to be ok but if in doubt, check with your surgeon.

Concern And Doubt
well, its simple as i see it. if you get the band and continue to overeat and not change your eating habits, you will not lose weight. the band is a plastic band they put on your belly to make you feel full. you have to choose to eat better/healthier foods instead of the junk that got people to the state they are to need WLS surgery. i have found some people blame the band for them not losing weight but they are the only ones who know for sure. if you want to lose weight, follow the guidelines the dr's give you and you will. its up to you really. you can do this if you want. if you choose not to band, you stay the same or get bigger. i made that decision and am on my way. i only wish you the best.

Today Is My Seminar/husband Still Not Supportive
can he go with you to the seminar to see what it is all about? you can talk to a wall and its opinion wont change. you have to decide to do this for you. i am sorry you are struggling with your MIL and hub. it sounds to me like they are misinformed and uninformed and scared. so what happens when an animal is cornered or scared? they attack. this is what they are doing. i would go to this seminar and get the process started. make yourself well. if you need support, use this forum. we will support you.

Hard Time With Pre Op Diet.
on my pre op diet, i was all liquid. please dont cheat. you are shrinking your liver for surgery. the first 4 days to me were the hardest. drink alot (sf popsicles saved me) as did chicken broth....its a mind game. if you want this surgery, stay strong. you are the only one who can do this. (you will read some who may say they cheated and its okay, its not okay). you need to be mentally tough to do this. i am so proud of you. go hour by hour...the outcome is you being a banded queen

my dr said no caff for 2 weeks after surgery.
