  4. My sister stalled in the 80lb loss area for 2 years. Exercised, ate her reg meals that she did to lose the weight. A month ago she saw infomercial on 7 things to NEVER eat. It's no peanuts, dairy, soy, corn etc. I think she's living on all the fruit, meat and salad she wants, and has lost 16 more lbs in a month. You can google it.
  5. I started at size 16 as well. Down to 10 but haven't figured out how to post pics on here grr
  6. That is so wonderful!! Amazing dedication! Great job.
  7. I'm 10 weeks po and haven't had a fill yet for fear of slippage. I'm down 36 lbs and have 30 to go. I haven't quite figured out how the band works. From morning to late afternoon I can't hold much food, maybe a cup at the most, or 1/4 of Peanut butter and jelly sandwich, then at night it feels like I could eat a full meal. I've never tested how much I could eat, but scares me that I don't have band restriction at night. Does it sound like I need a fill?

  10. Dr. Almanza said some people never need a fill. I was hoping I might be one.
  11. No fill. Haven't felt like I needed one yet.
  12. I was banded 8/11 and down 30 lbs, I weigh weekly and this is first week I didn't lose any. :-( freaking out, fearful and would go get a fill right now if I could. Panic stricken

  15. Thank you all for sharing. Was hoping it was a myth. I too won't risk it. I was self pay in mexico and do not have nutritionist. You get what you pay for I suppose. So I'm grateful for this forum.
  16. I was told carbonated drinks stretch your pouch. Any thoughts on that? I miss bubbles so much and 4 weeks post op.
  17. I'm 28 days post op, and since about the 3rd day I taste sweet all the time as if I just ate candy. Very strange since I've avoided sugar all together. Anyone else experience this or ever heard of it?
  18. Hi there! I'm 28 days post op. I've lost 25lbs already and don't believe I'm going to need my first fill any time soon. I'm a "cruncher" ice, nuts, croutons etc... So even the mushy stuff got old quickly. Now when I need to crunch something, I take a bag of pork rinds and sprinkle in 1 pk Splenda with cinnamon and shake it up like popcorn. I can never eat more than 3 so even tho the fat to cal ratio is not ideal it's very few calories and really satisfies. Not that I could or want to, but even if I ate entire bag, that would only be 320 calories. :-)

  21. Call my band my lil MP. It stands for my protector. It saves me from myself :-)
  22. Hello ST, I'm 5 days post op, and first couple days home I had a couple of panic attacks when my trigger to feed my face arouse and I realized I couldn't eat. Totally freaked, even tried to eat, but wouldn't go down. Finally calmed myself, and realized "THAT IS WHY!" I got the band, to save me from myself, and it stood the test. If I had been able to eat in my panic, it would all be for nothing. I decided to name my band my lil MP, for my protector. I feel respect for the tool and doing well on the liquids with cottage cheese and I'm down 12 lbs. Plz don't lose faith. You can do this! :-)
