  2. hey foxy whats done is done pick yourself up and lets get this done. the majority of us here had to do a pre diet sure its hard but its done for a reason..i had to shrink my liver also. this time around, focus and stay positive. the people on this forum is awesome and they will help you every step of the way (including me) tomorrow is your day, you got this (if you want it)
  3. well done miriam...YOU go girl. in my opinion, baby food is for babies......eat adult food (my vitamixer was a life saver)...tuna/chicken/chunky soups/refried Beans........ love the positive attitude and your profile picture Gorgeous
  4. my lord, let me get on my flying carpet and come up there from NC and take care of my friend if you are able, can you make a pit stop when you get son from play date? if not, maybe after?????? anyhow, get it as soon as you can...you will be fine my darling, i promise.
  5. chiming in, i think bottled water is a-ok and i drink water those big 5 gallon containers all day at work......so i am sure they are 100% fine but in doubt, always refer to the dr marketing dude as they would know best. as my gal maddysgram says, that is why they are paid the big bucks
  6. growing up in charleston sc, we had hurricane parties sat in garage and watched storms and drink beer that is until HUGO........i dont play around no more with hurricanes or storms now hope they are all safe
  7. as i told you before silly girl ........, i was #2 queen and lived in the bathroom. after talking to my surgeon, immodium a.d was suggested and def helped this ole gal. (as was me taking a daily probiatic capsule) i opened it and put in my Protein shake. def helped with #2 pool parties def keep drinking as you need to stay hydrated...sip sip sip (sf popsicles etc)
  8. hope everyone is safe there in LA/MS/AL.
  9. i will say mini plastic containers and zip lock bags are a god send. i get my plastic containers from qvc (lock n locks) to use. i plan ahead on sundays for the week so its a go and grab deal....i love this thread also mcu....
  10. i am with elcee, what complications? did you talk to dr or see help/advice?? and if hunger took its toll, did you get fills or practice portion control? i am sorry you have had trouble..
  11. agree with all posters......let me add, it will take WANT power. if you want to lose weight and be healthy, then do what you have to do. no side steps, no i cant this or that. you just do it. (think of all you did to get this surgery). it was worth it. so its worth it for you to stay strong and positive. you got this
  12. my surgery was on a wednesday morning and i went home late thursday afternoon. (i enjoyed being there and being watched as it made me feel secure). at the time of my meeting with my surgeon, i asked about same day surgery and he told me that most of his patients went home the next day (and stayed overnight). i to had that xray/barium swallow and urine output and had to do 2 weeks worth of shots in my stomach at home to help against blood clots. i say if a person is (watchful/aware) of their body and keen on looking for complications, i would think they would be okay to go home the same day. i am glad i stayed overnight.
  13. i think jean pretty much explained (why/how come etc). and allowing myself to (chime in), i would assume it is up to the individual surgeon to if they wanted to fill the band at time of surgery. (i would assume during the placement of it). my surgeon did (not sure how much until i get my first fill). i think practicing portion control and good sense can help 100% until someone reaches (their green zone if they ever do). (again, bandwagon author jean stated that pretty clearly).
  14. thats kewl robin........are you on a special liquid diet?? can you tell anything yet?? (sorry to sound dumb)
  15. if gagging, it sounds like you could be swallowing too much or to fast...sip sip.and keep on sipping..you are still swollen so it will feel as if its not going down.dont rush and follow your doctors orders to help with healiing.....as you heal, i know i did, i got hungrier. completely normal...so relax. your band is sewn in so it will could alot to make it slip...but since you are newly banded, that is not the case. do your best not to get sick or vomit. my dr gave me anti nausea meds to help. do you have those?? again, sip and relax. congrats on your surgery
  16. i had this surgery and highly recommend it.. Gastric Plication (Stomach Folding) Gastric Plication is a relatively new procedure that is quickly becoming one of the most popular options in weight loss surgery. It consists in reducing stomach volume by folding the grater curvature of the stomach to its inside part, Forming a tube form or “sleeve type” of pouch, similar to a gastric sleeve surgery, but without THE stomach cutting or stapling required in other surgeries. The pouch is formed by hand stitching and confection. Advantages Reduced Surgical risks compared to a gastric sleeve surgery. There is no foreign body inserted, so there is no foreign body failure. There is no counter indication and a good option for women who would like to get pregnant. It’s a lower cost surgery as it doesn’t require lap band or lap band staple costs. Recuperation time is also quicker than with bypass or gastric sleeve surgeries.
  17. pat or two.. my butt.......missy, calm down and relax... ...all is well..(if fever gets worse, def go to ER or call dr) i was achy, swollen and stiff and queen of the bathroom during my post op....you got a great attitude and will be so successful..now take your meds and get to bed.....check in tomorrow and let us know how you are.....
  18. they will approve...pretty pink princess knows all and is never wrong
  19. dont forget fruits (veggies) you can chop veggies and fruits and put them in baggies (in cooler with ice). and bottled water (and if you have cooler w/ice, you can put in pre made protein drinks or shots. there is always a way to get your protein. be careful
  20. (as long as YOU notice) and you feel good about yourself (and your clothes are getting looser) who cares when they notice because soon they will
  21. i make chicken salad on sundays to have all week (tuna f my hub who loves that)....or lean beef (hamburger) for example today i had 3 oz of that..or chicken breast.....or 1 ff turkey hot dog..... (i like eating the same things as it makes me more in control). i also eat alot of Beans....pinto, green, butter etc.....and fruits...(apple slices, watermelon etc) (but i only do what works for me. everyone is different)
  22. i make my lunches ahead of time (i have little containers with my protein/veggies) in the fridge measured out and am able to just grab in the morning to put into my lunch bag. (also have zip lock baggies of snacks (high protein and measured to 1 or 2 oz) and i always have hard boiled eggs on standby to cure munchies also. ...so its kinda quick to wake up and grab and go.....gosh i just re-read that and sound like leave it to beaver......yikes (welcome to my world)
  23. i dont see the problem? i think you are still somewhat (swollen) from surgery and so you most likely would get full faster. and after all liquids, one cracker looked like a extra large pizza to me focus on your Protein and remember to keep drinking my friend. doing outstanding
  24. agree with the other posters. if you are hungry, eat. if not why eat? but you must take your vitamins forever and ever. but eat good lean protein, fresh veggies/fruits when you do eat to keep your body nourished.
