Help Me! Nauseous!!
well, sojourner spoke of this before, are you drinking enough? if not , it could be that making you feel that way. (also quite possible from the surgery most likely) but if in doubt, DEF call the surgeon and let them know. everyone is different. i had the anti nausea meds also (and with me in my purse) and a patch behind my ear. keep siping and siping and then sip some more and then do it again. you must drink (and esp get your Protein in to help feed your body). i chill my shake til nearly wendy's frosty like and its awesome. feel better honey

Holy Sugar Substitute
if you are hungry you eat. there is a (head hunger vs being really hungry..like with a baby). they cry when they are hungry and stop when they are full. so when you eat (eat healthy things that make you full and are good for you). you are not on a diet. you are changing what you eat and how much. the band will help you eat less (and as fills come, help control the portions) but its up to you to (control) yourself. so what stops you from overeating? you do chill out, relax. sounds like you are a positive person. you will do great. all the best honey

Sooo.......now That I Am Banded...what Happens If I Do Get Nauseated???
i worry also about things but you need to know that worrying about something that (could or could not happen) is pointless. if you get sick, you get sick. it happens. the band is sewn onto our tummy so from what others have told me (including jeannie/author of bandwagon, my surgeon etc) it would take alot of heavy, many many times of throwing up) to make it slip. but you must try not too. so relax. please. fretting gets you no where except in *on my gosh* land. all the best.

Hi Guys I Just Signed Up For This App
if you are on 4 to 5 shakes per day, sounds like all liquid so if that is the case, no more eating and drink the things on the paper he gave you its to help prepare your body/liver for surgery, try not to cheat or mess up. dont worry about everyone else, you need to go by what your dr says. if in doubt, call and get it clarified all the best to you

A Little Liver Info...and I Get Banded Tomorrow!
thats great news on your liver but i know of 3 people who cheated on their pre ops and couldnt have the surgery and just last week a person on this forum had that happen. you were lucky and i am glad. i wish you all the love/luck and success in the world. to any newbies or pre banders reading this and think its okay... dont cheat even if you want too. you are only doing without for alittle while and only hurt yourself.

Bad Taste
if i had a taste of blood in my mouth, you can bet i'd bother my doctor with an issue (however small) to just ease my mind if anything. cant comment if its normal or not. i have had 6 surgeries and never had that. id make a simple phone call.

Need Advice
you got this just go day by day there is no time limit placed on you to lose any amount of weight in a short time. to do so is dieting. you are not dieting. you are just changing what you and how much you eat now bc of the band. just because you have not lost (what you consider alot) does not mean you are a failure. you lost what 20 pounds? that is nothing to sneeze at missy. that is 4 .....five pounds bags of sugar. be proud of yourself. i sure am. as all of us here on LBT do what you can with what you have (i cant walk much/far bc of my knees, but i do what i can) its all i can do. it doesnt make me less than my bud dan who rides 40+ miles a week on his bike....just means we are different hang in there put a positive tude on your face and move on

Breaking All The Rules
i love all the responses but lets be real. i got overweight because i ate too much (regardless if its processed or made from scratch or *great food*). 3500 calories is a pound regardless. the band will help you eat less. (esp after fills start). up to us to change the type of things we eat. we dont have too and you may still lose, but slower... when you say you went back to eat what you did before, you made that choice. the band is only a 3 in plastic thing on your stomach. you (and me) and us gotta make the band work. make good choices. dont eat over a cup of food if you think you didnt do good one meal, do better the next. but get rid of pity tudes. you went through hell to get this band. make this journey work for you. you got this. if you want it (all the best and congrats on your surgery)

Need Advice
']Just because you can eat larger portions does not mean that you should. I"ve had to learn strategies to manage my hunger between meals; and try to drink the necessary FF/SF fluids and stay busy so that my thoughts do not stay focused on food. couldnt have said it any plainer than my pal sojo--i live her and tmf's comments daily.

Liver Shrinkage
its happening. so dont worry. just chill....relax and know you are almost there. you got this... you do

Liver Shrinkage
if you are doing as the other posters have said, not cheating on the pre op diet, i am sure your liver will shrink nicely and the surgery will take place. just keep doing what you are doing and try not to worry about things that havent happened yet. (wont do any good and only make you feel worse or get more upset). hang in there and all the best
