Finally Days....
I guess they are all alike! Just as all of us suspected! My husband is also super supportive but makes the same comments. I have to reassure him that I was much slimmer when I married him and this surgery will not change who I am or who I love. Best of luck Mispk83, fast healing to you and to all above - may our husbands relax!

Under The Gown Jitters!
I think I posted this somewhere already - the nurse suggested I wear a button down shirt the day of surgery so I did not have to lift my arms when getting dressed to go home. I used to work for a Dr., and I know that as modest as we may be they are very respectful about keeping you and your body covered up.

I Need More Protein. Please Help!
I use Whey Isolate (vanilla) from Walmart - 1 1/2 lbs for $20. I tried to save $$ and got a 6 lb bag of vanilla Whey protein at Costco - but I hate it. I am not a fan of the chocolate flavors. But, I did get s 6 pack of Torani sugar free flavors on Amazon for $34. THese are the flavors they put in lattes. So, with some of that and vanilla protein powder you can make some good concoctions. Also, I have been using a tablespoon or so of sugar free pudding mix and/or sugar free jello mix into smoothies to add different tastes with the vanilla powder. Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and beans/hummus also have good protein amounts. GOOD LUCK!

I would like to go back to NYC and be comfortable sitting through a play on Broadway, last time I was so tight in that dang chair I wanted to cry.

Great Snack Choices?
I put some fruit preserves (the 100% fruit kids) in the Greek Yogurt. Otherwise it makes me gag! I have also put a bit of onion soup mix in to use as a dip for veggies.

Clothes: What Should I Wear Home Immediately After Surgery?
My nurse suggested an oversize button up shirt so I don't have to raise my arms to get a t-shirt on. I already have the perfect pj bottoms picked out! And, thanks - I will wear my slippers too!

Medicare Requirments Changed!!
What was your out of pocket cost with Medicare? I am hoping my hubby will choose banding after I get mine.

Diet
My doc has 10 day prior is a liquid diet with 1 fruit and 2 c cooked veggies. Clear Liquids 2 days pre-op, and clear liquids at least 1 week after and start mushies as you can tolerate. I make my own Protein drinks, they have not offered any required type. Today is my day 1 liquids. So far, so good!

Should I Be Worried If I Have A Fever And Diarrhea
My doc has his nurses on-call 24/7, I'd call and check in. At my pre- op the nurse used fever as an example of when someone should call in.

Day 21 Post Op: Appetite, Hydration, Movement
Good info here, I am pretty concerned about my water intake after surgery. I am jealous your hubby is getting banded now too! Mine is waiting until he sees how this is for me, and then will begin the insurance pre-requisites. He is super supportive but, he can lose weight thinking about weight loss. Kind of like i can gain 5 pounds walking past a tray brownies

Woohoo!
CONGRATS!!! What a process..... I wish the insurance companies would recognize that this really saves them money and us health in the long run.

Started Preop Diet Today
WOW! This is a great thread. My surgery is the 20th and I am at 2 shakes + dinner, Saturday i switch to all shakes... I LOVE the recipe from @waitingpatiently. I also got a cookbook by Chef Dave Fouts, of all protein shake recipes. You can search him on google to get to his site. He has some amazing concoctions. I love the support on this site! Those htat have gone before us - THANK YOU, those at the same step in the process - we need eachother, and those waiting on approval - we are your support and cheering section. Thanks all ~

Can Not Sleep On My Left Side. Can You?
Yikes! I am a stomach sleeper and was stressed about how I would survive the 2 or so weeks post surgery... Good luck I hope it calms for you

Protein Shakes Recommendations
I make my own shakes with fruit or greek yogurt for substance and I use the Whey Isolate powder. I just picked up a shake recipe book by Chef Dave Fouts, he's got some really interesting concoctions! I've found that I need to "mix it up a bit" (no pun intended), or I get really bored!

Im So Excited, I Will Be Banded March 23, 2012!
I had to do a 6 month class that my work health benefits office offers - it was actually a good class. I already "knew" what we learned but because I really needed to understand and use it (and am MOTIVATED to do that) - it was a good experience for me. I think this website offers great resources and references. If you haven't gotten the book BANDWAGON - do! Jean MacMillan is a member on this site, and wrote it. GOOD LUCK to you both, I have surgery the 20th!
