I've told my immediate family and they are for what makes mom happy ( they also have seen the work I have done to not gain more weight). My mom is a worry wort ( I should have just showed up skinny one day). I've told my best friend and she started dieting so she can get my clothes I grow out of, and I have told my cousin ( like a sister ) who has had the lap band done. She had told our family as a whole and they talk behind her back. So I decided not to tell them. Is your family and friends supportive? I think my cousin is more excited for me than me. I go back and fourth on ' what would happen to my family if I die, to, I wish it was the 22 already so I can get rid of the extra weight. I hate having to breath up instead of out ( I should just undo the button on my pants) LOL.

Buckeye girl only 11 days!!!!! Im so happy for you! I laughed, because I refuse to buy bigger clothes before surgery so when I sit my jeans fold back and my fat purges over lol, can't wait to be rid of that!

I love your blow out meal! My Dr isn't putting me on optifast, I get a liquid diet 3 days before,set off by a laxitive...yea. I am going to set up a housekeeper to take care of my families mess after the surgery. I don't think I will want to clean up after I have been gone a week. Most people say they feel great after, but I would like to pamper myself just a bit. As far as post op, I have been researching the best tasting protein and buying the ones I think I might like. So far I got the chicken broth, the peanut butter chocolate and the special K pink lemonade. I haven't tried the isopure yet, do you know if it's good? I'm looking forward to buying goal clothes. I am looking forward the week off from chores and next year going on vacation and having better vacation pictures. What are you looking forward to?

I get this way too. I find it easier to not look up any vsg and to stay away from the computer for a day or so. It brings me back to the basic things. best wishes

My GP never opened a door for weight loss for me. I would tell her how hard my weight problem is and she didn't even offer ANY diet plans. My bmi is 31 just obese. She keeps telling me how good I look. Now because I didn't feel her support and not knowing if she respects wls, I have not included her in the people who know prior to surgery. I also am hopping I don't get an infection so she will not have to see me after until I heal. I intend on using the closest urgent care if there is a problem. It would have been nice to talk to her about it, and I would have loved to have a DR like you to open up to and get real life experience first hand. I think you did the right thing to let your patient broach the subject and let her know what her options are. That's why we go to our doctors, to find out what our options are on healing our bodies.Thank you for caring enough to do it.

I was told they would not kick someone out if they didn't prepare and have enough money to get a hotel. They seem very nice to me. They said they would let me know prior if they hadn't enough room so I could get him a room if need be. Some people just refuse to separate and the beds go to the patients first.

Hey! I have 3 year old twins, a 4 year old and a 10 year old that Dad will be in charge of as well. My surgery date is on 9-22-11. I'm glad you brought up the subject. I will watching to see what is said. I can't wait to see what he does with the girls hair, lol ,or if our clothes survive his laundering.I do plan on getting a housekeeper for a day.

I'll be getting into San Diego on the 21, surgery on the 22 . My son is planning on going too ( If his passcard gets back on time), he is 18 and goes to NKU. We live near the cvg airport in Kentucky.

My son's state college offers some classes online, it might be a way you can keep your feet wet with school and recoop a bit. As a mom I would hate to see you stop for even a short time.

Hi, I am going with my son in Sept. I'm told that he is welcomed to stay at the house, however, I will be bringing enough money to get him a hotel room in case the house beds are full ( they will let you sleep on a sofa or floor if they are ). I am told the hotel near by is 5 star standard and they will bring him back and fourth. I hope this helps.
