  1. I'll be going 9-22-11 can you up your date? My son is comming along to help with the gear.He got the time off from work to help me and he would never leave a lady without help.
  2. The middle of my bmi puts me at around 120 lbs. The last time I was that size I wore 501 jeans ( 28,32). I can't imagine as a grown woman ( who has given birth) that I would ever be that size again, or be healthy at it. I will put my goal there because, I don't know what my shape should be now. I won't be afraid to change my goal if I find myself not looking lean, but gaunt.
  3. Hi, Im not in November, you will get better responses if you wait until October to post for November.
  4. Too funny, I always mix up my messurements. I remember when I was a kid they taught us metric. We were supose to be converted by now. Pray for my memory
  5. What type of surgery did you have? I will be having vsg on 9-22-11 What was the reason you had the surgery/ I will be having the surgery because Im obese. What was your chief complaint that resulted in the surgery? n/a , however, I fear death of surgery, and a staple coming loose and damaging another organ. How long were you suffering from the chief complaint? n/a Was the surgery elective or medically necessary? This surgery is elective. In fact, I don't qualify for insurance to pay (bmi is too low and I haven't other medical issues due to weight yet), so I am paying for the surgery. What treatments or diagnostic tests were done prior to surgery/ None Were there any preoperative instructions? Yes, lacitive 3 days prior, and a 3 day liquid diet. 12 hours before surgery, zero to drink or eat. Were there any preoperative issues or complaints? no What was the outcome of the surgery? tbd Was there a post operative visit? If so, how long post op? n/a Were there any post operative complications/ n/a, I do expect there to be some complications. I have Chron's and I think the pain from the surgery may trigger it. Was there any additional follow-up that has or will take place? n/a I hope I was of some help.
  6. Congradulations on your surgery date! luv your post.
  7. Hi bernie Im a pre op, what would you like to know?
  8. Hi, I got that number by 4 x 16. 16 ounces in a cup=64
  9. I was reading this morning about how many ounces one would be able to eat after surgery and I began to wonder how many ounces I can have before my surgery. Sooooo, I took my glass of milk and measured it , then drank it. I did this twice and became full. It was 64 ounces, that's 4 cups. Has anyone else tried this? No wonder Im hungry all the time.
  10. I have a Sears treadmill, and a Golds gym elliptcial machine. I bought the ellptical at a yard sale for $20 ( including delivery ). I also have bought numerous workout dvds, many still in wraper, at yard sales. My favorite is yoga for strength ( it shapes the body the best). I find if I have my tv on and am watch a action/adventure, while on my elliptical I get a very good cardio ( after all, I have to move faster to get away from the scary sceenes).
  11. I'm glad your weight went back down. Every time I travel I pop up to 10-13 lbs and it takes about 2 weeks to get rid of it and I don't know why.
  12. Hi, Im a Mom of 6, ages 23g,19b,10g,4b and twin girls that are 3. I have always found it best to tell the children the truth. I have even shown them a cartoon version of the surgery. If you show fear or have fear, they will be fearful ( after all, if an old person who has the sixth sense to know when they are getting into something is afraid, maybe there is a reason to be afraid). I have been telling them daily of the things I am excited about. I think they will be happy when it's over so I won't speak of it anymore lol.
  13. Hi, congrats on the sleeve. Are you getting enough water?
  14. If it were me, I would pack everything before my surgery and live out of a suitcase. Just what you needed... a little extra stress. Best of wishes.
  15. Hi, Your Dr can refuse to refer. If you feel your Dr isn't fullfilling your medical needs, you may want to look for a different Dr. I don't live in the Bay Area anymore, so I can't help you with where to go.
  16. I so relate to how you feel. Congradulations on your date.
  17. Congradulations, and welcome, You can learn alot here.
  18. I started laughing at," a little evil bottle", I am sorry that happened to you. I think it might be wise if I do a test area to see for allergic reation. Im 2 months till surgery,so anything should heal if I rash out. If it doesn't work I could try the dial or the spray mentioned above. Thanks
  19. It wouldn't be normal not to rethink a thing like surgery. Only you can decide what is right for your body. I took years of trying to lose weight through extensive exercise and diet. I didn't want surgery, but when I slowly started gaining weight (after having my uterus removed),I knew I needed help. I will be having my surgery on 9-22-11. I'm excited about my new start, about the aspect of my efforts working for me, maybe having more energy. I hope you get the right answers for you. Either way keep us posted, we're all trying to fight the same battle here.
  20. I'm sorry you're having a tough time. Can you call your doctor?
  21. Hi congradulations to all, I have a 9-22-11 date. Does anyone know what the weather is like in Mexico in September?
