  3. It is inconceivable to me that you are not losing weight. You need to do the following religiously and honestly: keep a spreadsheet of everything you eat. Everything! If you are taking in more than 1000 calories a day, then you need to assess where you are eating them. If you feel the need to graze than learn how to graze minimally and smarter. Follow my blog (and admittedly I am a 6-week newbie) and get tips there. Michael Pickert MD
  4. u should be proud of yourself, but as my support group says here REMEMBER WHERE YOU CAME FROM Michael Pickert MD follow me at: http://michaelwasfat.blogspot.com/
  5. If my doctor had me see a PA I would find another surgeon, although it is too late for that now. I have been eating 600-650 per day and am completely satisfied and my doctor told me my band is not restricted at all right now. Consider bouillon soup, always a good filler. visit me at my personal blog:http://michaelwasfat.blogspot.com/
  6. End of week 5 is here, I ate at 2 favorites yesterday- Eppes Essen (a local deli) and Cafe 88 (Chinese) I brought my own fat-free cream cheese, my own cracker and had 4 oz of nova as well as 2 pickles.Oh-oh! A wee bit too much but I made it. Dinner was 5 oz steamed shrimp and 5 oz steamed broccoli and string beans. Follow me at my personal blog: http://michaelwasfat.blogspot.com/
  7. Buillon + Fat Free+ FatFree Sugarfree Jello should take care of what ails you. Furthemrmore, if you are that hungry, are you waiting before and after meals so that you do not drink anything? Michael Pickert MD follow me at: http://michaelwasfat.blogspot.com/

i recommend a spell checker. Your BP meds aren't keeping you fat... you are, I'm sorry to say. Are you keeping an honest accurate journal of what you are eating and the calories?? If not, do so immediately. Also, in the morning PLAN your meals for the day so you know how to apportion your calories. An amusing entry for you, indeed! However, if you did not go into the bariatric route just for the heck of it then you might as well go all in. All in means keeping careful track of what you eat so that you can ascertain if you are slipping back into the bad habits of grazing and ignoring the fullness signal the band is sending you. btw who is your doctor? also, how many pounds have you lost so far. Also, are you drinking while you are eating? I found that the hardest thing to give up. Michael Pickert MD follow me at: http://michaelwasfat.blogspot.com/

If you can't remember what you ate then you are grazing again. DO NOT GRAZE! Do NOT EAT IN BETWEEN MEALS. Wanna know why? You'll start with a little of something then a little more of something else, thinking all along that you've been so good. You have been good, but you want to stay good. Try bouillon ( zero calories) OR a tablespoon of choc pudding (fat free sugar free- 12 calores) OR maybe 2 egg whites (35 calories), (Put onion salt on it for taste) or 1 tbsp Polaner sugar free jelly (10 calories). Keep it under 50 calories between meals Michael Pickert MD Follow me at:http://michaelwasfat.blogspot.com/

NO TATTOOS until you lose weight because when the skin contracts it might look like "evil" afterwards. Juts kidding. Anyway, keep it up. btw what day are you (or week) Michael Pickert MD follow me at:http://michaelwasfat.blogspot.com/
  14. In the last week I have eaten out 4 times with no ill effects. I eat: 4 oz carrots, steamed very soft, seasoned with garlic salt and butter spray (which I bring with me as well as a scale) For my main course I have 4 oz baked scrod, seasoned by me again and maybe 2-3 oz more carrots. Total Calories: an amazing 200 or so. I LOVE "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER" spray. If you are not using this please try it. Tomorrow I am posting on FB my 4 week total ponds lost. I think my friends and family will be amazed! Since none of them are on this blog I will give my fellow travelers on the new life path an advanced look at the number: 30 pounds in 28 days! And not one single day have I felt famished. I swear. Michael Pickert MD mickp_24@hotmail.com personal blog: http://michaelwasfat.blogspot.com/

I also am on BP meds and after dropping 28 pounds (FOR REAL) in 21 days, I felt my BP drop out yesterday to 90/62. I lay on floor and put feet up on bed to bring it back and now need to see my PB specialist Tuesday. We had made a schedule for tapering off but we never figured I would lose wight so quickly. 318 down to 290 with inly one day of plateauing! Thank you Allergan for making my gizmo! 16. you need never fail again! keep it up Michael Pickert MD mickp_24@hotmail.com
  17. your band is your friend and you need to adopt the one-day-at-a-time mentality of AA. Your satiety barometer will never be "fixed" and your band is keeping you from regressing to your old bad habits. Just imagine if you had been on a normal diet, by now you would be cheating so often you would be crying. Now your band is preventing you from going backwards! Michael Pickert MD mickp_24@hotmail.com

I cannot believe how different your post/op protocol was from mine! 2 days clear liquids, 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks soft food then on to my life. Also, my surgeon didn't believe in 2 weeks full liquids before surgery. Michael Pickert MD mickp_24@hotmail.com
  19. well done indeed! I am interested to see that your post/op was 1 week after surgery, mine was 2 weeks. Also, I was on full liquids for 2 weeks after surgery. Finally, my Dr. will only do a fill if I need it, he has no fixed schedule like so many others have. That is why I used him... he treats every patient according to their needs. He did say that as I lose weight, the band will need to be tightened as the fat around the stomach goes away, the band will get looser. gl Michael Pickert MD mickp_24@hotmail.com
  20. It is time! We are going to a restaurant tonight and I have my whole meal planned out. I will begin with 4 oz Pinot Noir (My surgeon wasn't ecstatic but I b.e.g.g.e.d) then my appetizer will be (after the obligatory 30 minute wait) 2 oz of green beans (steamed and I will bring artificial butter flavoring with me) Main course is 4 oz of plain, baked flounder with another 3 oz of green beans if I want. Total calorie count= 250. I think this is doable. I will report back tomorrow on how I did. Michael Pickert email: mickp_24@hotmail.com
  21. day 15 and ecstatic. I have no days over 600 calories and I have not been starving at all. When I do get hungry it is not nearly as all-consuming as it was in the past like GET ME A PIZZA FAST! No, it is now I think I need another 10 calorie teaspoon of sugar free raspberry preserves. Or a 10 calorie tablespoon of fat free sugar free choc pudding. GL and keep in touch
  22. I strongly disagree with you about telling people. I have found every one is so supportive and if you find some people sniping at you..well then you know who your friends are. I have even trumpeted on my FB page and all my farmville neighbors are pulling for me. Don't kid yourself about people not understanding. They will admire you for taking a stand on your health. Finally, when some hottie (in your mind) thinks she needs to go n a diet, don't get angry. They are entitled to have feelings about their appearance also. Anyway, in a year if u do all of it by the book, you will be one of those hotties too! REMEMBER WHERE YOU CAME FROM. Contact me if you need moral support because I can see you a litttle lost.
  23. Think of it as a challenge to your old way of life. btw- have u tried cream of wheat? and oikos yogurt?
  24. Don't sweat it, dawn. 2 days after the surgery it felt like no big deal and i went back to work the third day. Follow my new blog at : http://bit.ly/k9GHeZ
