Need Reassurance

It's been 13 months since my banding and I have lost a total of 75 pounds so far but I found myself getting more and more depressed lately like I am not doing enough. I have not heard of any support groups near where I live so I can't go to that. Is this normal to go through? I live in Baldwin County.

I am however very proud of what I have done with my weight. And I am hoping that I can continue with it. Just needing some encouragement though. Sorry for the mood situation. Just need to talk it out I guess.:(

I understand as I also go through mood swings and depression, as I am sure alot of us banders do. Congrats on your wt. loss - that is awesome! You should be very proud of yourself. Cheer up and try to have a wonderful day! :)

I think you are doing very well. Just think if you were to lose that much in the next 13 months how much better you will feel. When you started 13 months probably seemed like a long time away and now here you are. Also, remember that this time those pounds are gone for good because you have your tool. You never have to lose those same pounds again like most of us did in the past.

your band is your friend and you need to adopt the one-day-at-a-time mentality of AA. Your satiety barometer will never be "fixed" and your band is keeping you from regressing to your old bad habits. Just imagine if you had been on a normal diet, by now you would be cheating so often you would be crying. Now your band is preventing you from going backwards!

you are doing so good. I just started my journey and I pray that I meet that goal after 13 months. At USA Medical Center in Mobile, Al on the 3rd floor they have support groups that you can attend. The people at the group are wonderful. I went before I was approved for my surgery and they were talking about everything. I truly enjoyed the support group and now that I have had mine I will continue to go.
