  1. some folks get pictures, anything to show the weight during that time and even prior, if you had a high BMI. I sent OFF for all miney but dont know if they have all responded as i did those fly by nites 24 hr doctors as I did not have ins either for a time
  2. I am 58 and see the surgeon monday-- but he has a patient 73 who was banded at 69 cause she was in good health except weight stuff.. Your surgeon will let you know if he has any concerns, age is not a biggie if you have not big probs
  3. GOOD but i did see some jokes about that one congressman whose over weight - and they fun the made about him I do wonder sometimes folks that have so much money WHY not? I am so happy my insurance will pick up most of it, i have no clue why people in show biz or folks w money do not handle the weight problems. BUT I did see the story of Merv Griffin, He lost weight for his carreer, as a singer, before he became talk show host. And Oprah? what you waiting on girl?- I pray all goes well for myself and eveybody in here with thier WLS

Congrats! somehting is better than nothing- go slow- I always crick my neck or something. but tehre is a zumba class near by and once the Dr can tell me how much I can or not lose as I am pre-op im going to go dance my heart out,,, cha cha cha!!
  5. Don't let fear paint you a picture... anyhow my ins did not cover lap bands several years ago, then 1/2 then 80% and now they cover removals. so everything changes, and with the obesity problems in the USA I think ins and employers must meet the demands for better health options.
  6. I have my 1st appointment the 11 July, 2011- and not doing anything constructive, about my weight, I am just 43BMI and several people told me if I go down too low, I wont qualify for the surgery, so I am actually fattening up before the banding., and feel aful, but do not want to lose this great opportunity over a few lbs. I would be due late Nov/Dec and insurance makes changes ever year, so praying to be done by Dec 31, 2011.

  14. Would yoou change how you feel about him if he changed, if got fat skinny went to war and lost a leg- this is all outward, love is inside unconditional, but for us to really love another, we want te best for them. to be healthy- happy fullilled, and satisfied we have done our best. time to get our eyes off looks and look deeper into our hearts
  15. It is about the "walk" not the pound, a meal or even the band. It is about a life change, a project , a goal and for some a purpose. We are similar yet different, joined but separate, understanding and struggling, but all with the same aspirations, to make this life more enjoyble. to crush our fears of the future of sickness or immobiity or lonliness. let us encourage and lift each other spirits- pick up our doubts and cast them out, for we are all on the same road. and I am so happy to be a part of of our journey!

  17. I havent had this surgery but a colonoscopy and it is day 5 and finally feel like me again,,,, anesthesia is also a culprit for the bad feelings and pain meds combined w gas pains, and surgery,,,,your body has alot to deal with. long as you are not fainting, bleeding throwing up etc i think some of us just not as tolerant as others,
  18. each state has laws I think orig request is 30 days, but make sure nothing was lost bla bla talk to your coordinator at the surgeons after 10 days

  21. Well Found Dr Aguila Memorial Hospital Tampa, no admin fees and my Ins covers most of it.. On my way!
  22. My ins said I pay 30% of the allowed amount of the band thingy,,, $150 dr and $75 hospt out patient, but you know there is a fee for the thermometer and the washing of your open gown and the pain meds, not to mention the suture string- , but i was told they have payment plans and none has ever NOT gotten done. Thats good to know. I am walking by faith, it will all work out.
